Fig. 1 zeigt ein Rührelement im Vertikalschnitt,
Fig. 2 zeigt eine Variante desselben.

The invention relates to an improved device for mixing liquids by vibration.
From Swiss patent specification No. 278 280 stirring elements are known which protrude into a vessel and set the liquid in it in motion by vibration. These agitators are made at the lower end of a plate with conical openings. The amplitude of the vibrating mixer results in a change in volume below the stirring plate. Since the liquid cannot be compressed, it escapes partly through the conical holes made in the stirring plate and partly as a result of less resistance laterally under the stirring plate. The actual movement of the liquid takes place mainly through the flow of liquid, which is pressed through the stirring plate and inevitably accelerated as a result of the tapering of the holes.
However, a bell-shaped body, the walls of which have openings for the passage of the liquid, is also known.
The stirring action of this vibration mixer is satisfactory, but according to the invention it can be increased significantly with the same power consumption.
The object of the invention is to improve the design of a device for mixing liquids by vibration.
The object is achieved with the help of a device for mixing liquids, which consists of a stirrer which can be set in vibration movements in the vertical direction and which has a flat plate with passage openings, characterized in that the outer edge of the plate is provided with a downwardly extending edge is.
The device of the invention prevents part of the liquid from escaping to the side of the stirring plate. This means that all of the liquid must escape through the conical holes in the stir plate. Since this means that much more liquid can be pressed through the perforated plate in the same time, the acceleration is inevitably much greater. However, this edge also results in a substantial increase in agitation performance compared to the disk with the same current consumption of the motor. It is also possible to work with a smaller amplitude, which in turn results in less wear on the material. The liquid is also treated more gently as a result of the smaller amplitude.
The invention is described in more detail by the figures, for example.
Fig. 1 shows a stirring element in vertical section,
Fig. 2 shows a variant of the same.
The agitator in FIG. 1 shows a flat plate 1 which is provided with conical holes 2 and side plates 3 which are extended downwards. The axis 4 of the agitator can be made to vibrate up and down with the help of an electric motor.
If the agitator moves downwards, the liquid flows upwards through the holes 2, as these become narrower upwards. The sheets on the side create an additional directed current. If the agitator moves upwards, only a much smaller amount of liquid can flow downwards. The result is an intensive mixing of the liquid, which is significantly intensified by the edge 3.
FIG. 2 shows an analogous embodiment, but the holes 2 in the outer circular ring become tapered upward and in the inner circular ring downward.
