Abstract

The two grill sections are independently heatable. The lower part is fitted with vertically up standing hinge flanges (2) at the rear, which have guide slots with a vertical section and a forward and downward ampled section near the top. The upper grill section also has hinge flanges in matching positions. These carry outward facing pivot studs which rest in the guide slots. The flanges are notched to locate on stops on the lower section. The hinges allow both sections to rest closely together or to "float" with variable spacing. The notch-rest position holds the upper section at a pre-set height. The upper section can be rotated through 180 deg. to form a continuous flat grill with the lower section.
