Abstract
The drive is transmitted by a cup-shaped stamping integral with a sprocket driven by the bicycle chain with teeth in a rosette pattern. A spring-loaded dog clutch, rotating with the bicycle wheel, slides axially into engagement with the rosette teeth. The cup-shaped stamping can fit in a socket carrying the sprockets, each incorporating a ball-race. The inner, larger dia chain wheels are retained on the outer sleeve of the assembly by the outer smallest wheel which is threaded onto the sleeve.
Description

The present invention relates to a free wheel for a bicycle. Its purpose is to provide a very thorough simplification of the mechanical parts of this member and consequently a very low cost price.
The freewheel for a bicycle according to the invention is characterized in that the drive function is provided by means of a stamped cup integral with at least one toothed wheel driven by the chain of the bicycle having a rosette toothing and at the means of an axially sliding dog clutch having a rosette toothing complementary to the previous one, said dog clutch being integral in rotation with the wheel of the bicycle and being biased by a spring in the direction of engagement.
The appended drawing shows by way of example an embodiment of the freewheel object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a cross-sectional view in the pulling position.
Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view in the freewheel position.
The freewheel shown consists of a pressed steel main body (1) on which the parts (2, 3) rotate freely by means of the two ball rings (4, 5) and the clearance of which is adjusted by the stopper. groove (6) which can be blocked by the screw (7).
The dog clutch (8) also carrying a rosette toothing complementary to that of the cup is intended to receive the drive thrust caused by pedaling and transmit it by means of the forged teeth (9) to the main body I of the freewheel .
The spring (10) is used to urge the constant positioning of the dog clutch (8) in the direction of engagement with the cup (2).
The bush (3) is shaped on its outer diameter with triangular grooves (18) on which the toothed wheels (il, 12, 13, 14) are positioned, all blocked by the toothed wheel with threads (15) and spaced apart in the central part by the spacers (16, 17).
CLAIM
Free wheel for a bicycle, characterized in that the driving function is performed by means of a stamped cup integral with at least one toothed wheel driven by the chain of the bicycle having a rosette toothing and by means of a dog clutch axially sliding and having a rosette toothing complementary to the previous one, said dog clutch being integral in rotation with the wheel of the bicycle and being biased by a spring in the direction of engagement.
SUB-CLAIM
Free wheel for a bicycle according to claim, characterized in that said stamped cup is fitted into a bushing carrying the toothed wheels and in that each of these two parts has a ball bearing seat.
