La fig. 1 est une vue en perspective explosée du bouchon de vidange prêt à être vissé dans le manchon de vidange;
la fig. 2 est une vue en coupe longitudinale du bouchon vissé dans son manchon, avec la soupape en position fermée;
la fig. 3 est une vue identique à la fig. 2, avec la soupape en position ouverte;
la fig. 4 est une vue en bout du bouchon vissé;

The present invention relates to a drain valve for a wastewater pipeline.
Sewage downspouts can sometimes be blocked by the accumulation of waste, which causes flooding to the lower floors of the building when tenants on the upper floors then continue to use the toilets and other similar sanitary devices.
The drain valve according to the present invention proposes to overcome this drawback. To this end, it is characterized in that it comprises a body constituted by a drain plug in which is mounted a spring mechanism controlling the automatic opening of the valve, as soon as the pressure in the pipe reaches an abnormal level.
This automatic opening is controlled by the piezometric height which is then established inside the wastewater downspouts. In a particular embodiment, the valve according to the invention can be produced so as to remain open under a pressure lower than that which triggered its opening, by using a frustoconical shape offering more surface for the application of the internal pressure when the valve is open from its closed position.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the drain valve according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is an exploded perspective view of the drain plug ready to be screwed into the drain socket;
fig. 2 is a view in longitudinal section of the cap screwed into its sleeve, with the valve in the closed position;
fig. 3 is a view identical to FIG. 2, with the valve in the open position;
fig. 4 is an end view of the screw cap;
fig. 5 is a perspective view of the tool allowing the manual opening of the cap, or its closing.
Referring to the drawing, a drain sleeve 10 is connected to the sewage line through the exterior wall 12 of a building. This sleeve 10 is closed, on the outside side of the building 14, by a removable threaded plug 21 which can be screwed onto the corresponding thread 11 of the sleeve.
This emptying device makes it possible to periodically clean the interior of the wastewater evacuation downspouts of the building thus equipped, where waste and debris gradually accumulate which can cause a blockage of the internal flow of the pipe. This emptying device is normally located a few centimeters above the level of the ground and arranged so that it can function, during cleaning operations, without inconvenience to the environment. The threaded plug 21 is in the form of a hollow cylinder 20, in which can move a slide 30 terminated on the outside by a part of frustoconical shape 26, acting as a shutter for the hollow cylinder by coming to rest on the outer lips 27 also frustoconical of said hollow cylinder.
At its other inner end, the slider 30 is connected to a spring 25, the action of which maintains the slider in its closed position. Furthermore, the slide is subjected to the internal pressure of the liquid and gases contained in the general pipe of the building. To do this, the hollow cylinder 20 is pierced with an upper orifice 23 U and a lower orifice 23 L allowing the liquid or gases to pass so that their pressure is applied against the frustoconical part 26 in the closed position. The spring 25 controlling this closure is calibrated so that the internal pressure of the pipe counterbalances its effect as soon as it reaches an abnormal level as a consequence of accidental blockage of the pipes.
This situation then leads to the opening of the valve, as illustrated in fig. 3, which allows the evacuation of the excess liquid outside the pipe and thus prevents any danger of flooding inside the building.
This device will remain in the open position and allow the liquid to be discharged until the internal pressure has returned to normal inside the pipe, and the spring 25 again exerts sufficient traction on the slide. When the latter is in the open position, the frustoconical part 26 of the slide offers an enlarged bearing surface to the internal pressure to which it is subjected, with respect to its closed position, as can be seen in FIG. 2. Therefore, to keep the valve in its open position, according to fig. 3. it will be enough to press much less than that which its opening had previously required. When only the liquid flow must be evacuated by the valve, excluding the gases which may have accumulated in the pipe, the upper 23 U port is removed and the only 23 L lower port is retained.
In such a case. the outer face of the drain plug comprises, as described in fig. 4, a mark specifying the position of the lower hole 23 L so as to be able to align it correctly.
To allow the threaded plug to be easily screwed onto the drain socket, a tightening wrench 37 can be used, as shown in fig. 5, comprising tenons 39 corresponding to blind holes 29 made in the outer face of the stopper. The tightening key 37, manipulated with the aid of its handle 38, can then be rotated to bring about either the tightening or the loosening of the stopper, depending on the direction of rotation. To correspond to different diameters of plugs, the tightening key 37 may include an expandable section 36 fixed by screws 35, so that the distance between the tenon in its position 39 and the tenon in its position 39a corresponds to the use of 'a larger diameter.
