The object of the present invention is a device for feeding an automatic lathe in which the material to be machined is wound in the form of a torch.
Lathes of this type are known which include tools driven in rotation which machine the material, the latter remaining fixed. It is understood that in these lathes, and due to the rotation of the tools, the number of possible operations is very limited.
The object of the present invention is to overcome this drawback and to supply a known multi-function automatic lathe with a material to be machined wound in a torch.
This device is characterized by the fact that it comprises a receptacle containing the material to be machined and comprising an outlet for the material concentric with the headstock of the automatic lathe, the receptacle being rotated at the speed of the headstock of the lathe.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, in a single figure, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
The feed device of an automatic lathe 1 shown schematically in the drawing comprises a receptacle 2 containing a torch 3 of material to be machined. This receptacle 2 is rotatably mounted on a cradle 4, 5 fixed to the frame 6 of the automatic lathe 1.
The receptacle 2 is rotated at the speed of rotation of the doll 7 of the lathe by a return of pulleys 8 carrying the pulleys 9 and 10, the first pulley 9 is driven by the pulley 11 integral with the shaft of the doll 7 by means of a toothed belt 12. The pulley 10 integral in rotation with the pulley 9 drives by a toothed belt 13 the pulley 14 integral with the receptacle 2. Preferably, the pulleys 9, 10, 11 and 14 have the same diameter.
Preferably, the pulley 9 is integral in rotation with the pulley return 8, but can move axially on this return so as to follow the axial displacement of the doll 7.
The receptacle 2 comprises an orifice 21 concentric with the axis of rotation of the receptacle and through which the material to be machined can exit.
Between the outlet of the material 21 of the receptacle and the inlet of the tailstock is provided a bar straightener 15 which straightens the material wound in a torch in the receptacle 2. This straightener is composed of 5 elements from 16 to 20 whose ends are aligned in order to straighten the bar.
This rectifier can be fixed, as shown, or else be rotated with the receptacle 2 itself.
It can be seen that the feed device described can be added to any existing automatic lathe and that it makes it possible to use the multiple tools with which it can be provided to machine a material in a torch.
