Im folgenden wird die Erfindung anhand der beiliegen den Zeichnung beschrieben, in welcher als Beispiel eine Waffe mit einem Visier dargestellt ist, bei welchem die Erfindung verwendet wird. Es zeigt: Fig. 1 eine schematische räumliche Darstellung einer Waffe mit einem Visiergerät, die mit einer erfindungsgemäs sen Vorrichtung versehen sind, wobei das Visiergerät derart an der Waffe befestigt ist, dass es an ihren Richtbewegungen teilnimmt;
The invention relates to a device on a sight-controlled weapon for generating a correct lead between the firing direction of the weapon and the line of sight of the sighting device when firing a projectile at a moving target, the weapon and the sighting device are coupled together in such a way that the Normally move the line of sight and the direction of fire evenly.
The invention particularly relates to weapons that are attached to vehicles, such as. B. weapons in tanks, where the weapon is either mounted movably on the vehicle with respect to the azimuth as well as the elevation angle or, on the other hand, can be rigidly fixed in the vehicle, where in the latter case the weapon is aimed by a movement of the entire vehicle. The invention can, however, also be used with fixed weapons. The invention relates in particular to such arrangements in which the sighting device is attached to a movable part of the weapon so that it participates in the directional movement of the weapon or is at least influenced by it.
However, the invention is also applicable to arrangements of this type in which the weapon and the sighting device are separated from one another and can be directed independently of one another, so that the directional movement of the weapon does not directly affect the sighting device.
When shooting at a moving target with a sight-controlled weapon of the type mentioned above, the gunner must constantly keep the line of sight of the sighting device pointed at the moving target and at the same time control the weapon so that the firing direction of the weapon is in equilibrium with the line of sight emotional. In an arrangement where the sighting device is attached directly to a directional weapon, the line of sight is generally aimed at the target by movement of the weapon.
As is known, however, at the moment when a projectile is to be fired, there must be a certain angular deviation between the firing direction of the weapon and the sighting line of the sighting device directed at the target. The entire angular deviation required consists primarily of two components, namely one component, the so-called pre-hold angle, which is necessary because of the movement of the target, and a second component, the so-called cant, which takes into account the curved trajectory of the projectile is required. The entire Win angle deviation generally still contains corrections or compensations, eg.
B. the influence of wind forces on the projectile, the spin of the projectile, etc. The present invention is primarily concerned with the determination of the lead angle, which is necessary to take into account the movement of the target, but also affects the calculation of the other Components of the total angular deviation between the firing direction of the weapon and the line of sight at the moment a projectile was fired.
The lead angle, which is required because of the movement of the target, depends on the speed Winkelgeschwindig of the target from the point of view of the weapon. This angular velocity is equal to the angular velocity of the line of sight when the sighting device is arranged on the weapon or close to the weapon and the line of sight is constantly aimed at the target. Furthermore, the holding angle is dependent on the distance of the target and the average speed of the projectile fired at the target.
To calculate the lead angle, it is known to continuously measure the angular speed of the line of sight while tracking the target and, based on this angular speed after its low-pass filtration and a continuously measured value of the distance to the target in a computing device, continuously due to to calculate the lead angle required for the target movement. The angular deviation between the line of sight and the firing direction of the weapon is continuously adjusted according to this calculated value. However, a device which works on this principle is relatively complicated.
In addition, the shooter must constantly keep the line of sight aimed at the target, since any error in tracking the target leads to an error in the calculation of the lead angle and this error persists for a period of time that is measured by the time constant of the low-pass filtering Angular speed of the line of sight is dependent. The gunner can therefore not estimate when, after the occurrence of an error in target tracking, sufficient accuracy has been achieved in calculating the lead angle. In addition, any change in the speed or the direction of movement of the target leads to a disruption in the calculation of the holding angle, which disruption is only eliminated after a period of time unknown to the shooter.
An arrangement is also known in which the lead angle required because of the movement of the target is obtained by directing both the firing direction of the weapon and the line of sight of the sighting device directly onto the target during a certain limited time interval are directed and have the same angular speed, the line of sight is given an angular speed which is only a certain fraction of the angular speed of the weapon, so that during this time interval a continuously increasing angular deviation is formed between the firing direction of the weapon and the line of sight of the sight becomes.
At the end of this time interval, when the line of sight and the direction of fire are moved again at the same angular speed, the accumulated angular deviation is equal to the lead angle which is required to take into account the movement of the target. This method has the advantage that it only requires a relatively simple computing device, and that the shooter only has to keep the line of sight pointed precisely at the target at the beginning and at the end of the specified limited time interval in order to obtain a correct lead angle.
However, since at the beginning of the time interval of the line of sight a smaller angular velocity is suddenly given than before, it cannot be avoided that the shooter loses the target from the line of sight. The shooter must therefore lead the sighting line back to the target during the limited time interval so that it is aimed precisely at the target at the end of the time interval. It has been shown that this is a very difficult task for the shooter, since the time interval must be relatively short, in the range of 1 to 2 seconds.
The reason for this is partly that a projectile should be shot at the target as quickly as possible and partly because the target must move at a constant speed and in an unchanged direction during the time interval when the calculation of the Lead angle should be correct. Next, it is relatively difficult in an arrangement of this type to introduce the other required components of the total angular deviation between the direction of fire and the sight line, such.
B. the cant and the compensation of the wind power, the twist of the projectile, etc.
The aim of the invention is therefore to create a device for generating a correct lead angle when firing at a moving target on a sight-controlled weapon of the type mentioned, which device makes much smaller demands on the skill and reaction speed of the shooter and only a relatively small one Number of components required for calculation.
It should be possible to use the device by adding a relatively small number of additional components at the same time to calculate the other components of the setting angle, the cant, the compensation of the win of the, the compensation of the twist of the projectile, etc.
The inventive device, by which this goal is achieved, is characterized by means for determining the angular velocity of the line of sight and for generating a signal proportional to it, a timer device for setting a time interval proportional to the target distance, a signal integrating device controlled by the timer device first switching means for supplying the signal proportional to the angular velocity of the line of sight to the signal-integrating device during the mentioned time interval, servo control means, second switching means controlled by the timing device for supplying the output signal of the signal-integrating device as a control signal to the servo-control means at the end of the integration interval,
and devices controlled by the servo positioning means for moving the sighting device and the weapon relative to one another in such a way that the line of sight and the direction of fire are rotated relative to one another by an angle proportional to the movement of the servo positioning means.
Since with this device the lead angle required due to the target movement is calculated during a certain limited time interval, the shooter only has to ensure that the line of sight is aimed precisely at the target at the beginning and at the end of this time interval for an accurate calculation to obtain. Strictly speaking, the calculation is correct even if the direction of the line of sight relative to the target is the same at the beginning and at the end of the measuring interval. The error in calculating the difference between the tracking errors at these two points in time is thus proportional.
Since the shooter himself determines the point in time at which the calculation interval begins and can easily be informed about the end of the calculation interval, he can easily estimate whether the calculation carried out during the calculation interval was sufficiently accurate. If this is not the case, it can immediately start a new calculation interval.
Since in the device according to the invention the line of sight at the beginning of the measuring interval is aimed directly at the target and an angular velocity is the same as the angular velocity of the target, and since at this point in time there is no sudden change in the archer's control beyond the control of the shooter If the angular speed of the line of sight is enforced, it is very easy for the shooter to follow the target during the calculation interval and to ensure that the line of sight is aimed precisely at the target at the end of the calculation interval.
In contrast to the previously known, above-described system for calculating the lead angle during a certain limited time interval, the device according to the invention does not generate any interference with the tracking of the target at the beginning of the calculation interval, which the shooter would have to eliminate before the end of the calculation interval . The calculation interval can therefore be chosen to be short without placing excessive demands on the skill of the shooter.
It is advantageous to choose a short calculation interval, on the one hand because this allows a projectile to be fired quickly at a target and, on the other hand, because the target moves at a constant speed from the start of the calculation interval until the moment the projectile hits the target must move in an unchanged direction if the calculated lead angle is to be valid.
The length of the integration interval can be made proportional to the flight time of the projectile, which is proportional to the target distance. In this case, the direction of fire and the line of sight are offset from one another by an angle which corresponds directly to the result of the integration.
Preferably, however, the length of the integration interval is equal to a constant multiplied by the distance to the target, and in this case, at the end of the integration interval, the line of sight and the direction of fire are mutually offset by an angle which is proportional to the result of the integration divided by a calculated Value for the mean velocity of the projectile launched at the target. In this case, the device for calculating the required Winkelabwei deviation between the firing direction and the line of sight be particularly simple and with few parts, especially if they are not only used to calculate the lead angle to take into account the movement of the target, but also the other components of the total angle deviation is formed, such as.
B. the cant, the compensation of the wind, the compensation of the twist, etc.
Since in general the weapon and the sighting device can be directed both in azimuth and in elevation and the target also moves in the lateral direction as well as in the vertical direction, the calculation of the total lead angle is in the usual way in a calculation of the Side lead angle and another calculation of the height lead angle, whereby these two calculations can of course be carried out simultaneously. Accordingly, the device for performing this calculation and for moving the line of sight and the firing direction of the weapon against each other depending on calculated lead angles can in principle consist of two parts, one for the azimuth component and the other for the increase component of the movement of the weapon or the sighting device .
In the following the invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which a weapon with a sight is shown as an example, in which the invention is used. 1 shows a schematic three-dimensional representation of a weapon with a sighting device which is provided with a device according to the invention, the sighting device being attached to the weapon in such a way that it takes part in its directional movements;
Fig. 2 is a block diagram of the inventive device used in the sight-controlled weapon according to FIG. 1 for calculating the required lead angle and the devices for aiming the weapon and for introducing the calculated lead angle between the firing direction of the weapon and the line of sight, and 3 is a diagram of the angular positions of the target, the line of sight and the direction of fire as functions of time during the pursuit of the target.
Before the device shown in the drawing is described in detail, the mathematical principles on which the calculation of the various components of the total angular deviation is based are briefly explained.
The following symbols are used for the calculation:
EMI0003.0000
If the line of sight is kept aimed at the target, then obviously wm = w (1) For the flight time of the projectile one obtains
EMI0003.0001
As is known, the mean speed of the bullet can be expressed by the series vm = vO - c1D -I- c2D2 + c3D3 + ---- (3) where <B> ei, </B> c2 and c3 are constants. For most types of bullets, sufficient accuracy is obtained with only the first three members of the series. The first two links are sufficient for projectile speeds that are sufficiently above twice the speed of sound.
The lead angle ff, which is required to take into account the speed of the target, can be calculated from the formula
EMI0003.0006
As is known, the required cant 99.1 can be determined approximately by means of the series
EMI0003.0008
where k1, k2 and k3 are constants and one or two terms of the series give sufficient accuracy.
To calculate the other components of the total setting angle that may be required, such as B. to take into account the wind speed and the Dral les of the projectile, expressions can be used which are similar to the above formula (5) for the cant fu, as is known per se.
In this context it must be emphasized that all components of the total required angular deviation between the direction of the shot and the direction to the target, which must be calculated, are inversely proportional to the mean velocity vm of the projectile. This fact is used to simplify the design of the device according to the invention.
In FIG. 1, a weapon with a sighting device is shown only as an example and in a very simplified manner, which contains a gun with a barrel 1, which is mounted in a known manner in a gun mount 2 so as to be vertically movable and is arranged on a rotatable platform 3. The barrel 1 can thus be adjusted in elevation angle as well as in azimuth with respect to a supporting part, which is not shown in the drawing. It can e.g. B. to a vehicle such. B. act a tank, in which case the platform 3 is replaced by the turret of the tank. In the illustrated embodiment of the invention, the barrel 1 is directed in azimuth by means of a servomotor M1 and in the vertical direction by a servomotor M2.
A tachometer generator T1 is connected to the servo motor Ml, which is used to generate an electrical signal which is proportional to the azimuthal angular speed of the barrel 1 and thus the direction of the shot. In a similar way, a tachometer generator T2 is connected to the servomotor M2, which serves to generate an electrical signal that is proportional to the vertical angular velocity of the barrel 1 and thus the direction of the shot.
As shown in Fig. 2, the azimuth motor M1 of the run 1 is a control signal through a servo amplifier F1 and a comparator Cl from a signal generator S1, such as. B. a potentiometer, which is connected to a manually operable by the shooter control lever 5, which is pivotally mounted in a bearing mechanism 4 universal. The signal generator S1 is connected to the lever 5 in such a way that it forms a signal which is proportional to the angle of the deviation of the lever 5 from a neutral position in a given first direction.
The output signal of the tachometer generator T1 is fed back to the comparator C1 in the opposite sense. As a result, the servo motor M1 is coupled in terms of speed, so that the shooter can use the control lever 5 to give the barrel 1 an angular speed which is proportional to the deviation of the control lever 5 from its neutral position in the first direction.
Similarly, the servomotor M2 receives a control signal for the elevation angle of the barrel 1 through a servo amplifier F2 and a comparator C2 from a signal generator S2, which is connected to the control lever 5 in such a way that an electrical signal is formed which corresponds to the angle of the deviation of the lever 5 from its neutral position in a second direction is proportional, which is perpendicular to the aforementioned first direction. The output signal of the tachometer generator T2 is fed back in the opposite sense to the comparator C2, so that the servomotor M2 gives the barrel 1 an angular velocity in the vertical direction, which is proportional to the angle of the deviation of the control lever 5 from its neutral position in this second direction.
The arrangement according to FIG. 1 also includes a sighting device 6 which is attached to a part of the gun, which is movable azimuthally as well as in the height direction. In the drawing, the sighting device is shown only very schematically, since the special design of the sighting device is not essential for the invention. So z. B. the sight can be a normal optical sight, a radar sight or a laser sight. It is only important that the shooter can continuously determine the position of the line of sight of the sighting device in relation to the direction towards a target viewed by the sighting device.
In the illustrated embodiment, it was assumed for the sake of simplicity that the sighting device 6 has a sighting line which is fixed with respect to the housing of the device, and that the housing together with the sighting line is relative to the direction of the barrel 1, i.e. . H. the direction of fire of the weapon can be rotated. The azimuthal movement takes place by means of a servomotor M3. The movement in height he follows with the help of a servo motor M4. However, the sighting device can also be of a type in which the line of sight is movable azimuthally and in height with respect to the housing of the device, e.g. B. with the help of moving optical parts such. B.
Mirrors, prisms or crosshairs. In such a case, the housing of the sighting device is rigidly attached to the adjustable part of the gun, and the servomotors M3 and M4 are connected to the relevant parts of the sighting device itself, with the help of which the line of sight can be moved azimuthally and in the height direction relative to the sighting housing. The two servomotors M3 and M4 have given starting positions in which the line of sight of the sighting device 6 runs parallel to the direction of the barrel 1. As long as the servomotors M3 and M4 are not rotated from these starting positions when a target is being pursued, the line of sight in relation to the direction of fire of the gun remains fixed and parallel to it.
If a moving target is followed by the sighting device 6, and the azimuth motor M1 and the height direction motor M2 of the barrel 1 are controlled accordingly, a shooter can continuously keep the line of sight as well as the barrel aimed directly at the moving target. During this process, the signal generated by the tachometer generator T1 is proportional to the azimuthal angular speed of the line of sight and thus also of the moving target, while the signal generated by the tachometer generator T2 is proportional to the angular speed in the height direction of the line of sight and thus also of the moving target.
An electrical signal transmitter P1, such as. B. a potentiometer is coupled to the servo motor M3 to form a signal which is proportional to the angle of rotation of the servo motor M3 from its starting position. Similarly, a signal generator P2, z. B. a potentiometer, coupled to the servo motor M4 and generates a signal wel Ches is proportional to the angle of rotation of the servo motor M4 from its starting position.
In addition, a range finder 7 is provided, which is attached to the sighting device in the embodiment shown, so that its measuring direction runs parallel to the line of sight ver. This range finder can be of a known type, such as e.g. B. a radar rangefinder, a La ser rangefinder or some kind of optical Ent rangefinder. It is only important that it forms information about the distance of the tracked target either in the form of an electrical, digital or analog signal or in the form of an angle of rotation of a mechanical shaft.
As shown in FIG. 2, the servomotor M3 for the azimuthal movement of the sighting device 6 with respect to the barrel 1 is supplied with a control signal from an amplifier F3 via a comparator C3. The output 'signal of the potentiometer P1 connected to the servomotor M3 is fed back to the comparator C3 in the opposite direction. In this way, the servomotor M3 is fed back proportionally and therefore rotates its shaft by an angle which is directly proportional to the control signal supplied by the amplifier F3 and inversely proportional to the signal which is supplied to the potentiometer P1. The latter signal is obtained by an amplifier F5, as will be described in more detail below.
In a similar way, the servo motor M4 is ruled out for the Höhenbe movement of the sighting device 6 with respect to the barrel 1 to a servo amplifier F4 via a comparator C4. The output signal of the potentiometer P2 is fed back to the comparator C4 in the opposite direction. With this circuit, the shaft of the servo motor M4 is rotated by an angle which is directly proportional to the size of the signal from the amplifier F4 and inversely proportional to the signal which is fed to the potentiometer P2. The latter signal is also derived from amplifier F5.
As already explained above, the two servomotors M3 and M4 serve to deflect the line of sight of the sighting device 6 in the azimuthal direction and in the height direction relative to the direction of the barrel 1 and thus the direction of fire by angles, namely by angles that the calculated overall required angular deviations correspond in azimuthal direction and in height direction.
Two integrators 11 and 12 are provided for calculating the lead angle in azimuthal direction and in height direction, which are required because of the movement of the target. These integrators can be supplied with the output signals of the tacho generators T1 and T2 by a switching element K1, which are sent to the azimuth motor Ml or
are connected to the leveling motor M2 of barrel 1.
As already mentioned, the signal of the tachometer generator T1 is proportional to the azimuthal angular velocity of barrel 1 and thus also to the azimuthal angular velocity w $ of the line of sight, while the signal of the tachometer generator T2 is proportional to the elevation angular velocity wh of barrel 1 and thus also of the line of sight , provided that the two servomotors M3 and M4 of the sighting device 6 are in their starting positions, so that the line of sight is parallel to the direction of the barrel 1 and is stationary in relation to this.
The integrated signals at the output terminals of the integrators I1 and 12 can be fed through an additional switching element K2 with amplifier F3 or the amplifier F4. A further switching element K3 is provided for the temporary short-circuiting of each of the integrators I1 and 12, whereby the integrated signals at the output terminals of the integrators are deleted and a new integration process can be started.
The switching elements K1, K2 and K3 can be mechanical contacts of a relay or solid state switch and who is operated by a timer T, which can be of any known type, such as. B. an electronic timer circuit or an electromechanical timer. The time span of the timer T can be set by the range finder 7 as a function of the measured distance of the target, so that this time span becomes equal to a constant multiplied by the distance D of the target. In their idle state, all switches K1, K2 and K3 are in the positions shown in the drawing. The timer T can be started by briefly closing a switch 8 which is operated manually by the shooter.
When the timer T is controlled, it closes the switches K1 for the input signals to the integrators 11 and 12. When the timer T ends the measurement of its time span, it opens the switch K1 and closes it Switch K2, so that the integrated signals at the output terminals of the integrators I1 and 12 are fed to the amplifiers F3 and F4. The timer T can then be made to open the switch K2 again, so that the contactor briefly closes an additional, manually operable switch 9.
If this opens the switches K2 ge, the switches K3 are briefly closed, whereby the integrators II and 12 are short-circuited and the integrated signals are deleted at their outputs.
The range finder 7 also supplies information about the distance to a number of multipliers to form signals which are proportional to the value D, D2, D3, etc., depending on the desired accuracy of the calculation. In the illustrated embodiment of the invention, only two such multipliers are provided, which are formed by potentiometers P3 and P4. The potentiometer P3 is supplied with a reference voltage which, for reasons of simplicity, can be assumed to have a value of 1, while the output voltage of the potentiometer P3 is supplied to the potentiometer P4.
The output voltage of the potentiometer P3 is proportional to the distance D of the target, while the output voltage of the potentiometer P4 is proportional to the value D2. The output voltages of these two potentiometers P3 and P4 are fed to different inputs of the amplifier F5, which is also fed a voltage through a special input which is proportional to the Mündungsge speed v0 of a fired projectile. The input voltages are summed up in the amplifier F5 and amplified with the polarities and constants from equation (3), so that the output signal of the amplifier F5 is proportional to the mean velocity vm of the projectile.
Since the signal from the amplifier F is fed to the two potentiometers P1 and P2, which form feedback signals for the servomotors M3 and M4, the angles of rotation of these servomotors when they are fed with control signals from the amplifiers F3 and F4 are inversely proportional to the average speed vm of the floor.
The output signals of the potentiometers P3 and P4 are also fed to the separate inputs of an amplifier F6, in which the two signals are summed and amplified with the constants k1 and k2 given in formula (5), so that the output signal of the amplifier F6 is proportional to the value fu ³ vm, i.e. H. the product of the required superelevation fu and the mean speed vm of the projectile. The output of amplifier F6 can be fed to amplifier F4 through a switch K4.
In a similar way, the output signals of the separate inputs of potentiometers P3 and P4 are fed to an additional amplifier F7, which sums the two signals and amplifies them in such a way that the output signal of the amplifier is the product of the mean speed vm of the projectile and the components of the Win angle deviation is proportional, which are necessary to compensate for the wind forces and the twist of the projectile. The output signal of the amplifier F7 can be fed to the amplifier F3 via a switch K5.
In the illustrated embodiment of the invention, the two switches K4 and K5 are actuated by the timer T in such a way that they are closed and opened simultaneously with the switches K2.
The device described works in the following way: In the starting position for tracking a target, all switches K1 and K2 are in the open position, which is shown in Fig. 2, so that no control signals are fed to the servomotors M3 and M4 and therefore the line of sight of the sighting device 6 is parallel to the direction of the barrel 1 and opposite this is fixed. With the help of the control lever 5, the shooter directs the barrel 1 and thus also the line of sight at the target and then follows the target with the line of sight. The angular movement of the barrel and the line of sight are therefore equal to the angular movement of the target.
In the diagram in FIG. 3, the angular positions of the target, the line of sight and the run are plotted as functions of time during the pursuit of the target. The angular position of the target is shown by the curve drawn in full, while the angular position of the line of sight is shown by the dashed curve. The angular position of the barrel, i.e. H. the direction of the shot is shown by a dash-dotted curve. It is further assumed that the target moves at a constant angular velocity over the entire period, so that the angular position of the target is a linear function of time.
During this described at the initial stage of tracking the target, the direction to the target, the line of sight and the direction of fire move in proportion to one another. At a moment when the shooter has aimed the line of sight at the target as precisely as possible and assumes that the target will likely move at an unchanged speed and direction during the immediately following time, the shooter thereby switches the process of calculating the required lead angle one that he briefly closes switch 8 (Fig. 2). In the diagram in FIG. 3, this instant is denoted by t1.
When the switch 8 is closed, the timer T begins its activity and closes the two switches K1 at the same time. As a result, the two integrators II and 12 begin to integrate the signal which is proportional to the azimuthal angular velocity w 'of the line of sight, as well as the signal which is proportional to the angular velocity Wh of the line of sight in the height direction. The beginning of the calculation of the lead angle does not affect the two servomotors M3 and M4 for the sighting device, so that these servomotors remain at a standstill. The servomotors Ml and M2 of the gun are also not influenced by the start of the calculation of the lead angle.
The shooter therefore has no difficulty in keeping the line of sight aimed precisely at the target.
When the time span z of the timer T has expired, there is an integrated signal at the output terminal of the integrator 11 which is proportional to the product of the azimuthal angular velocity ws of the line of sight and the distance D of the target while on the output terminal of the integrator 12 is at the same time an integrated signal which is proportional to the product of the angular velocity wh in the height direction of the line of sight and the distance D of the target.
The time span a of the Zeitvor device D is proportional to a constant multiplied by the distance D of the target, which is determined by the range finder 7. In the diagram in FIG. 3, the end of the calculation period is marked by z2.
As already mentioned, there is a constant signal at the output terminal of the amplifier F6 which is proportional to the product of the desired elevation p "and the mean velocity v. Of the projectile, while a signal is present at the output terminal of the amplifier F7 which is the The product of the mean velocity v. Of the projectile and the correction angle is proportional, which are necessary e.g. to take into account the wind force, the spin of the projectile, etc.
At the moment z2, when the timer T expires, it closes the switches K2, K4 and K5 and at the same time opens the switch K1, whereby the integration in the integrators I1 and 12 is interrupted. The integrated signals at the output terminals of the integrators and the signals at the output terminals of the amplifier F6 and F7 are then fed to the servo amplifiers F3 and F4 for the azimuth motor M3 and the elevation motor M4 of the sighting device.
As a result, the motors M3 and M4 rotate the sighting device 6 and adjust the sighting line relative to the direction of the barrel 1, i. H. relative to the firing direction, in the azimuthal direction as well as in the vertical direction by angular amounts, which are directly proportional to the magnitudes of the control signals which are fed to the amplifiers F3 and F4, and inversely proportional to the signal which the amplifier F5 sends to the potentiometers P1 or P2 is fed. As already mentioned, the latter signal is proportional to the calculated mean velocity vm of the projectile.
As can be seen from the formulas (4) and (5) and the explanation thereof, the two servomotors M3 and M4 adjust the line of sight in relation to the direction of the barrel, i.e. H. with respect to the direction of fire, in the azimuthal direction and in the height direction by an entire angle which corresponds to the angular deviation required for firing a projectile at the target. This Win angle deviation contains the lead angle required because of the movement of the target as well as the required cant and the correction angle to take into account the wind forces, the twist of the projectile, etc. In the diagram in FIG. 3, this entire angle deviation is denoted by ft.
As can be seen from FIG. 3, the line of sight is adjusted from the direction of fire in such a direction that the line of sight lies behind the direction of fire, viewed in the direction of the pursuit of the target. The adjustment of the line of sight is essentially instantaneous, since the two servomotors M3 and M4 only have to turn the sighting device 6, which is very light.
As can be seen from FIG. 3, the introduction of the total calculated angular deviation ft between the line of sight and the direction of fire has the consequence that the line of sight is moved away from the target. The shooter must therefore return the line of sight to the target as quickly as possible, by changing the direction of the barrel 1 and thus also the line of sight by means of the control lever 5. During this process, the barrel move, i. H. the direction of fire, and the line of sight evenly, so that the total angular deviation ft between them remains unchanged. As soon as the shooter has returned the line of sight to the target, a projectile can be fired.
It goes without saying that several projectiles can also be fired using the same angular deviation between the direction of fire and the line of sight. However, if the shooter wishes to perform a new calculation of the required lead angle before firing a new projectile, he can do this by briefly closing the switch 9. This opens the switches K2, K4 and K5 again, as a result of which the servomotors M3 and M4 return the line of sight to a position in which it runs parallel to the direction of barrel 1. At the same time, the integrators 11 and 12 are briefly short-circuited by the switch K3, so that the integrated signals at the output terminals of the integrators are deleted.
The contactor can then start a new calculation of the lead angle in that the switch 8 is closed in the manner described.
A disadvantage of the device described is that at the end of the calculation interval the line of sight is momentarily moved away from the target, so that the shooter loses the target and has to use the control lever 5 to return the line of sight to the target before a projectile can be fired. This makes the shooter's task more difficult and at the same time delays the firing of a projectile.
This disadvantage can, however, be avoided in a modified embodiment of the invention in which, as shown in FIG. 2 with dashed lines, each of the two servomotors M3 and M4 of the sighting device 6 is connected to a signal transmitter T3 and T4, e.g. . B. a tachometer generator, which forms a signal which is proportio nal to the rotational speed of the associated servo motor. The signal of the tachometer generator T3, which is connected to the azimuth motor M3 of the sighting device, is fed as an additional control signal to the azimuth servomotor M1 of barrel 1 with such a polarity that this additional control signal supports the control signal of the signal transmitter S1, which is connected to the Lever 5 is connected.
In the same way, the signal from the tachometer generator T4, which is connected to the elevation motor M4 of the sighting device, is fed as an additional control signal to the elevation motor M2 of barrel 1. If the two servomotors M3 and M4 of the sighting device are switched on to measure the calculated angular deviation in the azimuthal direction or
To introduce the height direction between the line of sight and the firing direction of the barrel 1, the barrel receives a greater azimuthal angular velocity and a greater angular velocity in the altitude direction through the modified circuit described, the value of this magnification exactly corresponding to the azimuthal angular velocity and the angular velocity in the altitude direction, which The line of sight can be given by the servomotors M3 and M4 opposite barrel 1. In this way the line of sight is kept aimed at the target without the shooter having to operate the control lever 5 while the barrel 1, i.e. H. the direction of fire is moved forward in the direction of the pursuit of the target by an angle which corresponds to the calculated total angular deviation.
In the preceding example, the invention has been described in connection with a weapon and a sighting device, the sighting device being attached to a movable part of the weapon so that the shooter can direct the line of sight at the target by controlling the servomotors through which the weapon is adjusted. However, the invention can also be used in arrangements in which the weapon and the sighting device are arranged separately vonein other and independently of each other against a pad, for. B. the ground, can be directed.
In this case, however, the shooter must operate the servo motors by means of a control lever, by means of which the sighting device is adjusted relative to the base so that the line of sight is directed at the target, while the firing direction of the weapon is moved in line with the line of sight by the fact that the Servo motors, which adjust the weapons, receive control signals that are formed by position sensors that are connected to the servo motors of the sighting device.
The servomotors of the arithmetic unit for the lead angle (which correspond to the servomotors M3 and M4 from FIG. 2) are in this case neither coupled to the sighting device nor to the weapon, but instead turn position signal generators, which bilize the signals are proportional to the calculated total angular deviation in the azimuthal direction or in the height direction. At the end of the calculation interval, these signals are fed to the servomotors, which adjust the weapon, as additional control signals, which adjusts the firing direction of the weapon with respect to the line of sight by the calculated total angular deviation, namely in the direction of tracking the target .
In the embodiment of the invention described as an example, it was assumed that the direction of fire of the weapon and the line of sight are parallel to one another during the pursuit of the target and during the calculation interval. In principle, however, this is not necessary. So z. B. at the beginning of the calculation interval an angle deviation between the firing direction of the weapon and the line of sight may be present, which corresponds to the components of the attachment angle, which are independent of the movement of the target, such. B. the cant and the compensation for the wind forces and the spin of the projectile.
However, it is essential that during the calculation interval the firing direction of the weapon and the line of sight are moved equally with one another without any mutual angular velocity, so that the process of tracking the target is not influenced by disturbances during the calculation interval.
In the described embodiment of the invention, the azimuthal angular speed and the Winkelge speed are measured in the height direction of the line of sight by speedometer generators, which are connected to the azimuth motor and the elevation motor of the weapon. However, the angular velocities of the line of sight can also be measured in another way, e.g. B. by measuring gyroscopes which are attached to a part of the weapon which can be adjusted in the azimuthal direction and in the height direction. Such an arrangement is e.g. B. required if the weapon is firmly mounted in a vehicle and is directed to the target ge by movements of the whole vehicle.
