Fig. 4 einen Schnitt entlang der Linie A-A in Fig. 1.
Light for indicating the direction of travel, in particular for users of two-wheeled vehicles
The present invention relates to a lamp for indicating the direction of travel, in particular for the users of two-wheeled vehicles, which lamp is equipped with a housing that holds a lamp and at least one battery.
A large number of road traffic accidents affect cyclists and moped drivers who are hit by motorists who have not seen the hand signal to turn away when they break into the night or when turning to the left at night.
Two-wheeled vehicles generally do not have any flashing devices to indicate the direction, since this is technically difficult to achieve because of the narrow width of the vehicle. The driver is therefore dependent on hand signals, which are easily overlooked in the dark, fog, rain or blowing snow. Now and then flashlights are used for signaling. Flashlights, however, have the disadvantage that they have to be held in the hand, hindering the driver and thus leading to dangerous situations themselves. Particularly dangerous situations can arise. if a flashlight is dropped while driving, thereby distracting the driver or other road users.
It is therefore the object of the present invention to create a lamp for the users of two-wheeled vehicles which does not have the disadvantages of a flashlight and is also very cheap.
According to the present invention, a lamp of the type mentioned at the beginning is characterized in that an elastic strap or a glove for carrying the device is arranged on the back of the hand on the housing and that on the strap or
Glove a thumb-operated switch is arranged. The lamp can therefore easily be carried on the back of the hand without disturbing the driver in any way. In order to give a flashing signal, the driver can stretch out his left hand, and in the natural position of the arm the device can then shine backwards when the thumb e.g. pressed against the index finger and thus the switch arranged on the strap or glove is actuated. Briefly, repeated pressing of the switch can generate a clearly perceptible flashing signal.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the housing is flat. The lamp can therefore be carried without hindering the driver and can easily find space in a coat pocket or the like after use.
According to a further embodiment, the switch is attached inside the carrying strap or glove at such a distance from the housing that it comes to lie to the side of the index finger when the hand lamp is worn. In this way the switch is very well protected and it is very easy to operate. Further advantageous embodiments emerge from the following description and the subclaims.
A preferred embodiment of the present invention will now be described with reference to the drawing. It shows.:
Fig. 1 is a view of the lamp from the front, with the housing cover removed.
FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section through the arrangement of FIG. 1,
Fig. 3 shows the arrangement of the lamp on the back of the hand, the switch is operated with the thumb and
FIG. 4 shows a section along the line A-A in FIG. 1.
As FIGS. 1 and 2 show, the lamp consists essentially of a housing 1, which is closed with a transparent cover 2, which is advantageously carried out in orange color. In the housing, a battery 4 and 5 are arranged on both sides of the lamp 3. These batteries 4, 5 are connected in series with one another via a contact spring 7. On the side of the housing 1 opposite the contact spring 7, the contact springs 9 and 11 are arranged.
The contact spring 9 is connected to a pole of the lamp base 14 via a line 13 drawn in dashed lines, while the contact spring 11 is connected to the switch 17 designed as a push contact via a line 15 drawn in dashed lines. A line 19 leads to the other pole of the lamp cap 14.
When the switch 17 is pressed, a circuit is closed, that of battery 5 of the two batteries 4, 5 connected in series via the contact spring 7 via the contact 9, the line 13, the lamp 3, the line 19, the switch 17, the line 15, the contact spring 11 leads to the battery 4. As a result, the lamp 3 lights up.
In order to reflect as many rays as possible in the desired direction to the following road user, a reflector is advantageously provided which consists of two parallel parts 21 attached to the cover 2, which also serve to hold the batteries 5 in their position. The parts 21 are welded to the cover 2 and have a light-reflecting surface. It should be noted that the arrangement of the batteries and the part 21 of the reflector running transversely to the back of the hand make it possible to emit the radiation from the lamp 3 also laterally out of the cover 2 in the direction of a road user following the two-wheeled vehicle if the back of the hand is the outstretched hand up or down.
There is therefore no risk of the light signal no longer reaching the following road user as a result of such an unfavorable hand position, even if it is somewhat weaker than when the back of the hand is pointing backwards.
The housing 1 is connected to the fastener tape 23 in a suitable manner, e.g. connected by gluing or welding. The fastener tape 23 in the present embodiment consists of a flexible part 25 and an elastic part 27. The flexible part 25 has two layers 25a, 25b made of a plastic material, e.g.
made of Sehaumkunststoff, which are connected to one another at the edge, for example by welding or sewing. The switch 17 is between the two layers 25a. 25b housed. Likewise, the elastic band 27, e.g. can be a rubber band. connected at both ends to a flexible part 25. This connection can also be made, for example, by welding. Namely, if the rubber band still contains textile material in a known manner. during welding, the plastic material penetrates into the tissue, so that an intimate connection between the flexible part 25 and the elastic band 27 is created.
The switch 17 is arranged inside the tape 23 at such a distance from the housing 1 that when the lamp is worn, as shown in FIG. 3, it comes to lie to the side of the index finger and can therefore be easily operated with the thumb . Instead of an actual switch, it is also possible. on each layer 25a. 25b to attach a contact part, whereby a curvature of the upper layer can ensure that the contact parts are normally. i.e. if there is no pressure with the thumb, do not touch it. A bulge arises in the upper layer 25b when it is kept somewhat wider than the lower layer to which it is then welded.
However, other embodiments of the lamp are also possible. For example, a glove can be used instead of a strap.
