Device for separating parts
The present invention relates to a device for a work machine with a rotary drive for separating parts, in particular profiles or rods. Such a device corresponds to an urgent need, because many companies only occasionally have to carry out large-scale cutting work, so that an automatic cut-off saw is not worthwhile. The quality of the parting surface in conventional automatic saws is also unsatisfactory, and post-processing generally has to be carried out, which in turn requires considerable material additions.
It is the aim of the present invention to provide a device for efficient and clean cutting which is very inexpensive and can be used with existing working machines with rotary drives, in particular lathes. The device is characterized by a cutting saw blade that can be mounted on the rotary drive of the working machine and a carrier that can be fastened to the working machine, on which a clamping device for profiles can be displaced from a loading position into the working area of the cutting saw blade and vice versa, with means being provided which the clamping device when reached automatically open in the loading position and close automatically when leaving this position.
This device enables simple, efficient work, the operator only having to push the material to be separated and move the clamping device between the loading position and the work area. The manually controlled and monitored work allows a cleaner cutting than with automatic machines, so that you can save on post-processing and material addition.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the device according to the invention in side view.
This device has a carrier 1 which, in a manner not shown, is mounted on an existing work machine, e.g. on the bed 2 of a lathe, can be attached. It is fastened in such a way that the device is in the illustrated relative position with respect to one on the spindle of the working machine, e.g. Lathe, attached cutting saw blade 3 is available.
Between the upwardly pointing legs of the U-shaped support 1, two guide rods 4 are arranged, on which a block 5 is slidably guided. On this block 5, a prism 6 is attached, the longitudinal axis of which is parallel to the axis of the spindle or the saw blade. A plate 8 is pivotably attached to a support 7 to the side of the prism 6. It has a longitudinal slot through which a clamping screw 9 protrudes. The screw can be fixed by means of a nut 10 and a lock nut 11 in a certain position along the slot of the plate 8 and at a suitable height for tensioning a certain profile.
At the freely movable end, the plate 8 is provided on the underside with a wedge surface 12 which, in the loading or rest position shown, has run onto a pin 13 inserted into the carrier 1. The plate 8 is here against the action of disc springs 14, which pivot between it and the heads of screws 15 protruding through holes in the plate 8 and screwed to an extension of the block 5 into an upper position. The clamping screw 9 is here slightly lifted from a rod 16 inserted into the prism 6 and allows this rod to be shifted longitudinally in the prism 6.
On both sides of the block 5, tabs 17 are articulated, the other ends of which are articulated to an actuating lever 18 with a handle 19. The actuating lever 18 can be pivoted about an axis 20.
A protective bracket 21 covering the accessible side of the saw blade 3 is attached to the carrier 1. The device also includes a stop, not shown, which can also be attached to the bed 2 of the working machine, for dimensioning parts to be separated of the same length.
In the illustrated loading or rest position, the moving parts of the device remain self-locking, in that the inclination of the wedge surface 12 is selected so that it does not slide off the pin 13 by itself. In the position of the parts shown, the rod 16 or some other profile, from which sections are to be separated, can be pushed under the raised screw 9 into the prism 6 until it hits the stop, not shown.
With the saw blade 3 running, the handle 19 and thus the actuating lever 18 are then pivoted downwards, the block 5 being displaced to the right via the tabs 17. Here, the wedge surface 12 slides off the pin 13 and the plate 8 is pivoted downward under the pressure of the plate springs 14 until the screw 9 rests on the rod 16. The rod 16 is now clamped. When the block is further shifted to the right, the rod 16 comes into the area of the saw blade 3 and is cut. The cutting pressure can be regulated by hand according to the circumstances by pressing the handle 19. The device is therefore particularly suitable for the clean cutting of small profiles.
When the separating process has ended, the lever 18 is swiveled back quickly into the position shown, the wedge surface 12 running onto the pin 13 and the screw 9 lifting off the rod 16. This rod can now be pushed forward to the stop again, whereupon a new cutting process can begin. The play between the screw 9 and the rod 16 in the loading position should only be small, so that the rod is then practically free of play, but can easily be moved.
