Fig. 1 zeigt eine Ansicht des Flüssigkeitsstandanzeigers.
Fig. 4 zeigt ein Detail.
Liquid level indicator
The invention relates to a liquid level indicator for a container with a vertical, in cross-section substantially circular tube and a vertically displaceable float, which is connected to a polarized in a horizontal plane permanent magnet, which is inside the tube and which is outside the tube arranged display device influenced magnetically.
In a known liquid level indicator, a rail engages in a groove in the float, thereby preventing rotation about its vertical axis and causing the float magnet to be in the most effective position relative to the display device. The disadvantage is the discontinuity of the pipe wall and the associated difficulties in cleaning.
The purpose of the invention is to remedy the stated disadvantage.
The liquid level indicator according to the invention is characterized in that the rotational position of the permanent magnet about a vertical axis with respect to the display device is determined by an external magnetic field in every height position.
The subject matter of the invention is explained below using the drawings, for example.
Fig. 1 shows a view of the liquid level indicator.
Fig. 2 shows a side view of the liquid container and the standpipe with a partial section through the pipe to make the float visible.
FIG. 3 shows a section through the standpipe along the line III-III in FIG. 2.
Fig. 4 shows a detail.
The liquid level indicator shown has a standpipe 1 which is connected to the liquid container 2 in a communicating manner. Inside the magnetically neutral standpipe with a circular cross-section is a float 3, with a corresponding, somewhat smaller cross-section, in which a permanent magnet 4 is mounted so that its axis lies on the plane of the liquid level. The display device on the outside of the tube consists of two-colored lamellas 5 arranged vertically one above the other, which are mounted eccentrically rotatable about a horizontal axis and in each of which a small permanent magnet 6 is installed, polarized perpendicular to the axis of rotation. On the diametrically opposite side of the tube, an elongated plastic magnetic tape 7, which is magnetized in the transverse direction, is attached.
The float 3 in the standpipe 1 is held in a rotational position defined with respect to the longitudinal axis as follows: The south pole of the float magnet 4 is attracted by the north pole of the plastic magnetic strip 7, so that the north pole of the float magnet assumes the desired position with respect to the display device. Reaching and maintaining this position is supported by the lamellar magnets 6.
The display device works as follows: As FIG. 2 shows, the north pole of the float magnet 4, which, thanks to the guide, is always directly behind the display device 5, attracts the rotatable slats.
When the float moves vertically, caused by the rise or fall of the liquid level, the slats are turned by 1800. The two end positions are stable because the north and south poles of neighboring lamellar magnets attract each other. As Fig. 1 shows, the liquid level is indicated by the different color of the two sides of the lamellae.
A major advantage of the liquid level indicator described is that no special guide means have to be provided on the inner wall of the pipe to maintain the desired relative rotational position of the float with respect to the display device, and the inner wall of the pipe can thus be smooth, which enables the pipe to be cleaned easily.
