Abstract

The olefin is pre-treated by bodying until viscosity is increased by 5 to 30 fold by finely dispersing (e.g. blowing or churning into the olefins) at 90 degrees to 200 degrees C a molecular O2-containing gas through the olefin. Sulphitation then gives high yields, quickly and without solvents excess reactants or initiators.
