Kontinuierlicher Schaummischer
Continuous foam mixer
Continuous foam mixers - such as the Euromatic continuous foam mixer - are used in many industries, including the foam rubber, foam plastic, and food industries.
These continuous foam mixers all work on the same principle. With the help of one or more liquid pumps, pumpable substances such. B. latex, plastisele, egg white dough, pressed with a compressed gas through a mixing head. In the mixing head, the liquid flow and compressed gas are continuously and intensively mixed to form a foam. This foam is continuously removed through a hose or pipe.
The friction of the foam in this hose or pipe maintains the pressure in the mixing head. As a result, the gas still takes up a small volume during mixing. The slow pressure reduction in the foam discharge hose or pipe prevents the foam from falling apart.
It is clear that if the amount of liquid and / or gas is changed, the yield and / or the density of the foam can also be changed. If there are several of these fluids, the fluid pumps can be coupled.
In practice, however, it would be very desirable if the metering of the gas could also be coupled with the metering of the liquid, so that the yield could be changed with an adjustment measure - with the foam tightness remaining the same. So far there is no solution.
A change in capacity changes the pressure in the mixing head, which makes proportional metering of the compressed gas more difficult.
The present invention provides a surprising, expedient and economical solution to this problem, whereby the worker with a continuous mixer becomes simpler and more reliable.
The invention accordingly relates to a continuous foam mixer with a device for metering the gas.
It is characterized by means for proportionally synchronous gas metering with the liquid metering.
As a result, regardless of the counter pressure in the mixing head, the gas: liquid ratio, once set, is not influenced in the event of a change in capacity, and the foam tightness remains unchanged.
The invention is explained in more detail below, for example with reference to the drawing. The drawing shows schematically an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
A cam disk 1 is mounted on the drive shaft of the liquid pump (not shown) or of the liquid pumps which are coupled to one another, the cam of which actuates an electrical microswitch 2. This acts via a time relay 3 on an electromagnetic valve 4 which is installed in the gas line 5.
The compressed gas - e.g. Compressed air from a compressor (not shown) is regulated to a constant pressure by a reducing valve 6 and fed to the solenoid valve 4 via an adjustable throttle valve 7.
An adjustable back pressure regulator 8 is mounted in the gas line before it ends in the mixing head (not shown). This back pressure regulator ensures that the back pressure in the mixing head, which changes when the capacity changes in weight, cannot have any influence on the gas metering system. The reducing valve 6 or the back pressure regulator 8 can, for. B. set to 6 or 5 atü. The reducing valve will always be set to a higher pressure than the back pressure regulator 8, while this will always be set to a higher pressure than the highest achievable pressure in the mixing head.
With a certain setting of the reducing valve 6, the throttle valve 7 and the counter pressure regulator 8, the same amount of gas will always be dosed per unit of time when the solenoid valve 4 is open.
Because the movements of the solenoid valve 4 are synchronized with the speed of the pump or the pumps, the proportional gas: liquid ratio remains unchanged when the pump output changes.
The time relay 3 is set so that the solenoid valve 4 is closed for at least a short time per revolution at the highest pump speed.
By changing the speed of the pump or pumps with one adjustment, the weight yield of the continuous foam mixer can be changed while maintaining a constant crowd. By changing the setting of the throttle valve 7, it is possible to change the tightness of the foam without changing the yield of the Schauni mixer in terms of weight.
The synchronization between liquid and gas metering described above is based on the use of a solenoid valve. It is clear that other valves can also be actuated by the pump shaft. So z. B. pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical valves can be used. What is essential is the arrangement of valves and regulators in the gas line, one valve being coupled to the shaft of the liquid pump or liquid pump and being actuated synchronously with the speed of the pump or pumps, and proportional synchronous gas metering through means in the gas supply line the liquid metering is achieved, so that the gas: liquid ratio, once set, is not influenced by a weight change in capacity regardless of the counterpressure in the mixing head, and the foam density therefore remains unchanged.
In a preferred embodiment, means known per se can be provided to remotely control the throttle valve and / or the speed of the liquid pump (s).
