Process for the production of water-soluble reactive azo dyes It is known to use dyes which contain halo-s-triazine groups for dyeing fibers containing hydroxyl groups, in particular cellulose materials such as cotton and viscose rayon.
These dyes are easily fixed with good wet strength on the materials mentioned, since the halogen-s-triazine group can react with the hydroxyl groups of the cellulose molecule in the presence of an acid-binding agent, especially at elevated temperatures. The dyes are applied from aqueous liquor or in the form of aqueous color pastes; Due to a side reaction in which the halogen-s-triazine group reacts with water instead of with the cellulose molecule, part of the dye is not fixed on the fiber.
As a result, an excess of dye must be used, and the dyeings or prints must be carefully washed with a boiling soap solution to remove any unreacted dye. The need for excess dye and the further process step make dyeing or printing more expensive, especially when darker colors are to be obtained.
The aim of the present invention is a process for the production of water-soluble halogen-s-triazine-reactive dyes, the fixation of which on the fiber is remarkably high and in which the washout treatments can be reduced significantly.
According to the present invention, water-soluble monoazo dyes of the formula

produced, where A is the remainder of a diazo component of the benzene or naphthalene series, E is the remainder of an amine coupling in the para position of the benzene or naphthalene series or of a 5-pyrazolone, 5-aminopyrazole or acetoacetarylamide, T is a reactive chlorine or a bromine atom-containing pyrimidine or s-triazine ring which is bonded to an aromatic ring of A or E via a nitrogen atom, R and R 'are hydrogen or alkyl radicals with up to 4 carbon atoms, Z is an α, B-alkylene radical with up to 4 carbon atoms and Y a chlorine or bromine atom.
In order to ensure the water solubility of the dyes, the aromatic nuclei of the radicals A and E should have at least one sulfonic acid group and preferably at least two sulfonic acid groups. The rings can also contain other substituents such as methyl, methoxy or ureido groups, chlorine or bromine atoms, carboxyl, nitrate or carboalkoxy groups with up to 4 carbon atoms in the alkoxy group.
The pyrimidine or s-triazine ring represented by T must contain a chlorine or bromine atom in one of the positions 2, 4 and 6. Pyrimidine nuclei should also have an electronegative substituent in the 5-position, e.g. B. a chlorine or bromine atom or a cyano group have.
According to the invention, the new dyes are obtained by coupling the diazonium compound of a diazo component of the benzene or naphthalene series with an amine of the benzene or naphthalene series or a 5-pyrazolone, 5-aminopyrazole or acetoacetarylamide coupling in the para position, with either ent the diazonium compound or the coupling component bound via a nitrogen atom is a group of the formula

The starting materials can be obtained by combining the following starting materials by means of coupling and condensation reactions known per se: On the one hand (a) the diazonium compound of an aromatic amine of the formula A-NH2 or (b) an amine of the benzene series or coupling in the para position a 5-pyrazolone, 5-aminopyrazole or acetoacetarylarnide as the coupling component, one of the components (a) and (b) being an amino or monosubstituted amino group or a group which can be converted into an amino group after the coupling reaction without destroying the azo group, e.g.
B. must have a nitro or acetylamino group; and on the other hand the reaction product of (c) a cyanuric halide or a pyrimidine derivative containing chlorine or bromine atoms in the 2-, 4- and 6-position and an electronegative substituent in the 5-position and (d) an amine of the formula

before coupling into the diazonium compound or coupling component, by adding a coupling component with an amino or mono substituted amino group or a diazo component with a second amino or monosubstituted amino group either with a condensation product of the cyanuric halide or the pyrimidine compound and the amine ( d) or first condensed with the cyanuric halide or the pyrimidine compound, in the latter case the resulting product is then condensed with the amine (d), whereupon the dye is obtained by coupling.
The new dyes can be used to dye or print numerous textile materials. The dyes are particularly valuable reactive dyes for Cellu loose, with which they, in the presence of acid-binding agents, react with high drawability.
In the following example, parts mean parts by weight. Example To a suspension of 15.5 parts of cyanuric chloride in 75 parts of acetone and 150 parts of water, a neutral aqueous solution of 26.9 parts of the monosodium salt of 1- (4'-amino-3'- sulfophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone was added dropwise with stirring at 0 to 5 ° C., a pH of 6 to 7 being maintained by simultaneous addition of 2N sodium carbonate solution.
After the reaction has ended, an acetone solution of 23.4 parts of 3-aminobenzenesulfone-ss-chloroethylamide is added and the temperature is increased to 40 to 50 ° C., while the value is again kept at 6 to 7 by adding 2N sodium carbonate solution . After several hours at this temperature, the mixture is cooled to 5 to 10 ° C.
30 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid are added to a neutral solution of 17.4 parts of orthoic acid in 400 parts of water; then the suspension is cooled to 0 to 5 ° C. A solution of 7 parts of sodium nitrite is added over the course of 15 minutes at 0 to 5 ° C. with stirring. When the addition is complete, the diazonium salt is added to the coupling component suspension obtained in the manner described above; then the mixture is stirred at 5 to 10 C, while the pH is maintained at 6 to 7 by adding 20% sodium carbonate solution. After stirring for several hours, the product is salted out and filtered off, washed with 20% sodium chloride solution and dried in air at 40.degree.
With the dye, yellow shades are obtained on cellulose in the presence of an acid-binding agent.
