Fig. 4 zeigt den Kasten 117 in hochgestampftem Zustand.

Method for producing a mold for insert-reinforced plastic parts and a mold consisting of at least two molded parts
The invention relates to a method for producing a mold from at least two molded parts for the production of inlay-reinforced plastic parts, wherein a model for a molded part is first produced, according to which the counter-molded part is shaped.
The invention also relates to a mold produced by the method, consisting of two, a cavity for receiving a reinforcement insert and molded parts enclosed by flowable plastic, one of which is produced as a counter-molded part from molding material according to a model.
The molds required for the production of inlay-reinforced plastic parts generally consist of at least two molded parts. The two molded parts delimit a cavity into which a reinforcing insert, for example a glass fiber mat, is inserted and which is filled with flowable plastic. The plastic then hardens in the mold.
To produce the molded parts, a model was usually made from wood and stamped on this model with sand mixed with epoxy resin, so that a molded part was created. This tool was then turned around and a spacer layer, for example a layer of wax, was applied to the molded part at the points where the cavity is to be created later.
The second molded part is then produced by tamping on sand mixed with epoxy resin, the wax layer is removed and the molded parts are brought together to form the cavity. The known method has the disadvantage that both molded parts have to be produced by ramming, which is difficult with more complicated workpieces. In addition, a molded part for removing the cured plastic parts and inserting new reinforcement inserts must be connected to a drive that holds the tool in the filling position against the pressure of the liquid plastic, which is mostly pressed in under excess pressure. The secure attachment of a shock-sensitive epoxy resin-sand mixture molded part to a drive, for example to a hydraulic press, is usually difficult to accomplish.
Finally, the molded part made according to the model is very sensitive to damage that makes it practically unusable.
The object of the invention is a method, which is improved over the known methods, for producing a mold for the production of insert-reinforced plastic particles, of which at least one molded part is insensitive to damage and easy to handle.
The solution of the invention consists in making a positive according to the model, according to which the counter-molded part is shaped.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, an advantageous and inexpensive method for producing a positive consists in that the positive is made by casting. An advantageous additional use of the positive, in particular the positive cast, is possible if the positive cast is used directly as a tool. A suitable material for this is metal, preferably light metal.
The aforementioned shape is characterized in that a positive of the model is provided as a further molded part.
A particularly advantageous production of the further molded part is possible if the molded part is a positive cast of the model. A wear-free and robust, at the same time relatively dimensionally stable, molded part can be achieved if the positive cast is made of metal, preferably light metal. A molded part made of such a material can be relatively easily provided with a connection for flowable plastic pressed into the cavity between the molded parts.
Furthermore, a molded part made of such a material can be relatively easily provided with a device for attachment to a drive and holding device. According to a further embodiment of the invention, the molded part consisting of a positive cast can be provided with stiffeners, especially in the case of large dimensions. An easily cast-on sealing edge on the molded part prevents plastic from escaping from the mold during pressing.
The invention is explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment with reference to the drawing. Show it:
1, in perspective, a model for a molded part,
Fig. 2 is a section along line II-II of Fig. 1,
3 is a perspective view of a positive cast of the model of FIG. 1,
4 shows a section along line IV-IV of FIG. 3,
5 shows the counter-molded part in a section together with the molded part cut along line IV-IV (FIG. 3),
6 shows the finished form consisting of a molded part and a counter-molded part.
In the following description, the manufacturing process of a mold for manufacturing insert-reinforced plastic parts is described.
1 and 2, a model 1 made of wood of a molded part for a mold for producing insert-reinforced plastic parts is shown. As can be seen from later figures, the mold itself consists of two mold parts, a mold part and a counter-mold part, between which there is a cavity when they are brought into the casting position.
The reinforcement insert, for example a glass fiber mat, is inserted into this cavity and flowable plastic is then pressed into it. A polymerizable plastic, for example a synthetic resin, is particularly suitable as a flowable plastic.
The model 1 is provided with a sealing edge 2 which has a flat surface 3 and is reinforced with ribs 4. Reinforcements 6 are provided at the crossing points of the ribs 4. A part of the surface of the model 1 is designed in accordance with a desired area of the plastic part to be produced with the mold and is referred to as the casting surface 8. The remaining area is designated as the tamping area 9.
According to model 1, a positive is now made which is made particularly advantageously by casting in metal, in particular in light metal, for example aluminum. Instead of casting, the positive can of course also be produced by another post-forming device, for example by automatic copying with a machine tool provided with copying control. The positive cast is used directly as a molded part. It is shown in FIG. 3 and designated by item 101. The molded part 101 corresponds to the wooden model 1 and has a sealing edge 102, a flat surface 103, ribs 104, reinforcements 106, a pouring surface 108 and tamping surfaces 109. In addition, a connection 111 for the supply of flowable plastic is cast on. The molded part 101 is provided with threaded bores 112 on the reinforcements 106.
The positive cast, which can be used directly as a molded part 101, is used instead of the model 1 to form the counter-molded part 116. For this purpose, it is turned around according to FIG. 4 and placed on its flat surface 103. It is surrounded by a box 117. A spacing layer, preferably a wax layer 118, is applied to its casting surface 108. A wooden strip 119 is fastened by means of screws 120 to the pouring surface 108 at a point where a thickening of the plastic part is to arise later. The walls of the box 117 are held by tie rods 121. Molding material mixed with a binding agent in the form of molding sand 123 mixed with epoxy resin is now tamped up in the box 117. Fig. 4 shows the box 117 in the stamped-up state. The molded part 101 made of aluminum is then removed.
The counter molding is thus completely manufactured. The wax layer 108 and the wooden strip 119 are removed from the molded part 101, through the casting surface 108 of which a hole 124 is drilled. 5, a flexible pressure hose 126 is attached to the connection 111 and the molded part 101 is screwed to a holding plate 129 connected to the punch 128 of a press (not shown) by means of screws 127 screwed into the threaded bores 112. The molded part 101 is thus completed. According to FIG. 6, the counter-molded part 116 is screwed to rails 133 with angle iron 131 and screws 132 and is thus fixed in the correct position relative to the punch 128 of the molded part 101.
6 shows the finished mold consisting of the molded part 101 and the counter-molded part 116. Molded part 101 and counter-molded part 116 are shown in the extended position, in which a glass fiber mat can be inserted into counter-molded part 116.
The molded part 101 is then lowered by the punch 128 until the sealing edge 102 of the molded part 101 rests on the sealing surface 134 of the counter-molded part 116. In this position, the molded part 101 is held by the die against the pressure of the flowable plastic pressed into the cavity between the molded parts through the pressure hose 126, the connection 111 and the hole 124.
The invention has particular advantages. As before, it is not necessary, after the counter-shaped part has been shaped according to a model, to produce the shaped part corresponding to this model from molding sand mixed with binding agent. It therefore also eliminates the difficulties of anchoring the molding sand in a movable support frame. Damage to the surface of the molded metal part according to the invention is excluded and cannot occur even if it hits structural parts of a press during movement. The surface of the metal cast can be easily smoothed or reworked. It does not change even after frequent use. Since signs of wear can only occur in the counter-molded part, only this needs to be re-manufactured, with the model in the form of the molded part cast in metal is always present.
The molded part made of metal according to the invention can easily be attached to the stamp of a hydraulic drive. A pressure connection can also easily be provided.
In the case of the method and the mold according to the invention, only the one-time casting costs for the casting are additional costs, but these are limited since the expensive model is already available anyway.
