Maximum consumption measuring device for electrical energy
The invention relates to a maximum consumption measuring device for electrical energy, with a power meter, an integrating element for forming the average consumption value during a registration period determined by a timer, and with a maximum recording element which stores the maximum consumption value of previous registration periods.
In known maximum consumption measuring devices, the electrical energy is measured with an induction counter. During a registration period, which is determined by a synchronous motor, a driver pointer is driven with power-proportional angular speed. In doing so, he pushes a maximum pointer in front of him. At the end of each registration period, the driver pointer is set to zero while the maximum pointer remains.
Thus, the angle of rotation achieved by the driving pointer corresponds to the mean power of a measurement period, while the maximum pointer shows the highest mean power of all previous registration periods of the current reading period.
The known measuring device has a number of serious disadvantages. It is subject to mechanical wear and tear and is sensitive to all kinds of environmental conditions. The achievable measurement accuracy is mainly given by the size of the reading scale and is therefore mostly small. The requirement to reset the driver pointer very quickly has not yet been met to a satisfactory extent. Another disadvantage is that the measurement result is initially available in analog form; Additional, complex measures are required for the digital display, which also reduce the measurement accuracy.
According to the invention, these disadvantages are remedied in that the power meter is a static measuring transducer, which emits a pulse frequency proportional to the power, and that the integrating element is formed by a counting chain, the maximum recording element by another counting chain or a digital memory and the timing element by a pulse generator .
Some exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings.
1-3 each show a block diagram of a maximum consumption measuring device.
In FIG. 1, 1 denotes a static measuring transducer with an input 2 for the measuring voltage U and an input 3 for the measuring current I. A pulse train appears at the output 4 of the measuring transducer, the pulse repetition frequency of which is proportional to the power U. 1. Such measuring transducers are known and therefore do not need to be explained in more detail.
The output 4 of the measuring transducer 1 is connected to an electronic counting chain 5 and via a gate 6 to a further electronic counting chain 7. In the circuit example described, the counting chains 5 and 7 each have six storage locations; however, the number of storage locations can be selected as desired according to the required resolution of the measurement.
A coincidence circuit 8 is connected to each memory location of the counting chains 5 and 7. If counting chains 5 and 7 coincide, i.e. H. with the same content, a signal appears at the output 9 of the coincidence circuit 8 which, under the conditions explained later, reaches a control input 11 of a flip-flop 12 via a gate 10 and is stored in this. The output 13 of the flip-flop 12, which can consist of two NOR gates, for example, is led to an input 14 of the gate 6. Thus, if the counting chains 5 and 7 coincide, the gate 6 is opened and the pulses emitted by the measuring transducer 1 are counted into the counting chain 7.
The counting chain 5 has a reset input 15 which leads to each memory location of this counter and is connected to a pulse generator 16.
The pulse generator 16 supplies reset pulses with a constant frequency. It can, depending on the required measurement accuracy, z. B. a free-running multivibrator or a quartz-stabilized oscillator. Another advantageous possibility is to use a pulse shaper triggered by the frequency of an energy distribution network or an oscillator synchronized with this frequency as the pulse generator 16. The pulse generator 16 can also be followed by a frequency divider stage.
The reset pulses generated by the pulse generator 16 are also fed via a gate 17 to a reset input 18 of the flip-flop 12. An input 19 of the gate 17 and an input 20 of the gate 10 are connected to the output 4 of the measuring transducer 1.
The maximum consumption meter described works as follows:
The pulses generated by the static transmitter 1 are continuously counted into the counting chain 5.
At the end of each registration period, i. H. for each pulse emitted by the pulse generator 16, the counting chain 5 is reset to zero. Since the pulse repetition frequency of the output pulses of the transmitter 1 corresponds to the electrical power U I, the number stored in the counting chain 5 before each reset is a measure of the electrical energy consumed during the relevant registration period or the average power consumed during this period.
The coincidence circuit 8 continuously compares the numbers stored in the counting chains 5 and 7. If the number contained in the counting chain 7 is initially assumed to be greater than that in the counting chain 5, the gate 6 is blocked and the counting pulses do not reach the counting chain 7. However, if the count of the counting chain 5 reaches that of the counting chain 7, the coincidence circuit speaks 8, the flip-flop 12 flips, the gate 6 opens and the subsequent counting pulses are simultaneously counted into the counting chains 5 and 7.
When the next reset pulse emitted by the pulse generator 16 occurs, the counting chain 5 is reset to zero and, at the same time, the flip-flop 12 is reset via the gate 17. Thus, the count of the counting chain 7 corresponds to the highest average power of all previous registration periods of the current reading period.
At the end of a reading period, the counting chain 7 can be set to zero in a manner not shown by an officer or also automatically.
The coincidence circuit 8 can be constructed from the same number of exclusive-or gates as there are memory locations in the counting chains 5 and 7. These exclusive-or gates can be connected to a common gate with a corresponding number of inputs.
The gate 10 forwards the coincidence information supplied by the coincidence circuit 8 to the flip flop 12 for storage only after a counting pulse has ended. This ensures that the gate 6 is not opened incorrectly when a counting pulse runs through the counting chain 5 and the coincidence circuit 8 detects a coincidence in this time interval which actually does not exist.
Likewise, the gate 17 only forwards a reset pulse to erase coincidence information stored in the flip-flop 12 when a counting pulse which possibly coincides with the reset pulse has ended. This measure ensures that a counting pulse which begins before a reset pulse but overlaps it is still recorded with certainty by the counting chain 7, while a counting pulse starting after the reset pulse is no longer counted.
In FIG. 2, a static measuring transducer 21 is connected to a counting chain 23 via a gate 22 and to a counting chain 25 via a gate 24. A comparison circuit 26 is connected to each memory location of the counting chains 23 and 25. An output 27 of the comparison circuit 26 is coupled to a preparation input 28 of a flip-flop 29. A clock input 30 of the same is connected to a pulse generator 31, the Q output to an input 32 of the gate 22 and an input 33 of a gate 34 and the Q output to an input 35 of the gate 24 and an input 36 of a gate 37. The pulse generator 31 is also coupled via a delay element 38 and the gate 34 to a reset input 39 of the counting chain 23 and via the delay element 38 and the gate 37 to a reset input 40 of the counting chain 25.
To explain the mode of operation, it is assumed that the position of the flip-flop 29 is such that Q = L.
The gate 22 is thus open for the counting pulses generated by the measuring transducer 21 and the gate 24 is blocked. The counting pulses are counted into the counting chain 23. The comparison circuit 26 compares the content of the counting chains 23 and 25 and prepares the flip-flop 29 so that it assumes the state Q = 0 when a reset pulse occurs at the clock input 30 with A> B and the state Q = L with A <B, where A is the content of counting chain 23 and B is that of counting chain 25. If A> B before a reset pulse, after this pulse the gates 24 and 37 are open and the gates 22 and 34 closed, shortly afterwards the reset pulse delayed by the delay element 38 reaches the reset input 40 via the gate 37 and sets the counting chain 25 to zero.
The subsequent counting pulses reach the counting chain 25 via gate 24 and are counted into it.
With each reset pulse emitted by the pulse generator 31, the counting chain with the smaller content is reset to zero and coupled to the static measuring transducer 21 for the following registration period. This means that the highest average output of the previous registration periods is stored in one of the two counting chains at any time. After each registration period in which the previous maximum consumption value has been exceeded, the integrating element and the registering element, which are both formed by the counting chains 23, 25, exchange their functions. From the position of the flip-flop 29, it is always clear in which of the two counting chains the maximum is located.
The circuit according to FIG. 2 has the advantage over that according to FIG. 1 that the number stored in the registration element does not change during the individual registration periods and can therefore be read off easily at all times.
The comparison circuit 26 can deliver correct information only during the pulse pauses of the counting pulses. It is therefore advantageous to provide a locking circuit which prevents the flip-flop 29 from tilting as long as a counting pulse generated by the measuring transducer 21 runs through one of the two counting chains 23, 25. This is shown symbolically in FIG. 2 by a line 41 which leads from the measuring transducer 21 to the flip-flop 29.
The comparison circuit 26 has the task of determining whether
A-B> O or A-BIO. To solve this problem, the fact that A - B> 0 can be used advantageously if a transfer to the sign position is present in the case of a subtraction in the one's complement. The complete subtraction does not have to be carried out here, but only has to be formed from point to point of the transfer of A and B.
The following applies to the carry Cl, an arbitrary position n: Cn = An Bn + C (n1) BII + C (ji1) AII
The comparison circuit 26 can therefore have a logic circuit for each memory location of the counting chains 23, 25 which fulfills this function.
In FIG. 3, a static measuring transducer 42 is connected via a priority switching element 43 to a counting chain 44, the content of which is transmitted via connections 45 to a digital memory 46 when a pulse appears at its clock input 47. A pulse generator 48 is coupled via the priority switching element 43 to a reset line 49, which leads via a gate 50 to the clock input 47 and via a delay element 51 to a reset input 52 of the counting chain 44. A comparison circuit 53, which can be constructed in the same way as the comparison circuit 26 in FIG. 2, is connected to each memory location of the counting chain 44 and of the digital memory 46. An output 54 of the comparison circuit 53 leads to an input 55 of the gate 50.
The counting pulses emitted by the measuring transducer 42 are counted into the counting chain 44. The comparison circuit 53 opens the gate 50 when the content of the counting chain 44 is greater than that of the digital memory 46, so that the next pulse from the pulse generator 48 reaches the clock input 47 and the content of the counting chain 44 is transferred to the digital memory 46. The reset pulse also arrives at the reset input 52 with a delay and sets the counting chain 44 to zero.
The priority switching element 43 prevents a counting pulse emitted by the measuring transducer 42 from simultaneously passing through the counting chain 44 and the content of the same being transferred to the digital memory 46.
As already mentioned, measuring transducers which emit a pulse repetition frequency proportional to the power are known. They usually consist of a multiplier and a voltage or current-frequency converter. Voltage or current-frequency converters operating according to the so-called charge quantity compensation principle have an operational amplifier, the input of which is coupled to the output via a capacitor and to which a current pulse with constant charge is fed when a threshold switch connected downstream of the operational amplifier is triggered. In a known converter of this type, the length of the current pulses corresponds to the period duration of a pulse train generated by a pulse generator. This period represents a measurement constant of the power measurement and must therefore be as constant as possible.
The period duration of the pulse generator of the maximum consumption measuring device according to the invention can be regarded as the measurement constant of the integration. If, when using a transmitter with a voltage or current-frequency converter of the known type described, the period of the pulse generator 16, 31 or 48 is selected proportionally to the period of the pulse generator, the errors in the power measurement and the integration compensate each other.
The determination of the period duration of the current pulses required for the amount of charge compensation and the definition of the measurement periods can thus be carried out by a single time element which, moreover, does not even have to meet high accuracy requirements.
It can advantageously be a free-running oscillator. An exact time element, e.g. B.
quartz-based, is only required if there is one of voltage fluctuations, temperature variations, etc.
independent duration of the registration periods is required.
