Description
Fig. 3 die in Fig. 1 dargestellte Portion, jedoch fertig verpackt in einer aromadichten Hülle, in perspektivischer Darstellung,
Fig. 6 einen Schnitt durch eine kleinere Portion.
Fig. 6 zeigt eine kleinere Portion.
Packaging for coffee
The invention relates to a package for ready-to-use roast and ground coffee. So far, coffee has mostly been roasted by the supplier, marketed in bean form and ground immediately before use. Roasted and ground coffee has also been brought onto the market, but there is a risk of losing its aroma.
The aim of the invention is to create a packaging that allows ready-to-use roasted and ground coffee to be brought onto the market, which also makes it easier to prepare the beverage.
The invention solves this problem in that ready-to-use, roasted and ground coffee is embedded in portions in a first packaging layer that is closed on all sides and designed as a filter, and that the portion embedded in this way is accommodated in a second packaging layer that prevents loss of flavor.
Some embodiments of a packaging according to the invention are shown in the attached drawing:
1 shows a portion of roasted and ground coffee enclosed in filter paper in a perspective view.
FIG. 2 shows a section through the portion shown in FIG. 1,
Fig. 3 shows the portion shown in Fig. 1, but ready-packed in an aroma-tight casing, in a perspective view,
4 shows a portion enclosed in filter paper, which is larger than the portion shown in FIG. 1, in a perspective illustration;
Fig. 5 shows a section through the portion shown in Fig. 4 and
6 shows a section through a smaller portion.
The figures all show approximately round slices of roasted and ground filter coffee, packed in filter paper, which is indicated by dots in the sectional drawings of FIGS. 2, 5 and 6 and denoted by K. The round shape corresponds to the shape of most infusion coffee filter funnels or the holders of expresso machines in which the coffee is made using steam and water or just water.
When producing the packaging, for example, the roast and ground coffee will first be pressed into a round disc and this will be enclosed between two round discs made of filter paper F1 and F2 (FIGS. 2, 5, 6). The disks F1 and F2 can then be connected to one another under high pressure along their edge by means of a stamp, the edge of which is flat or corrugated. A flat edge, as shown in Fig. 1 and 2, requires gluing, while the corrugated edge holds without glue.
Whether glue can be used for sealing depends on the regulations of the food inspection body.
The glue must be waterproof. Depending on the method used, the edge is flat, as in FIG. 1, or corrugated, as shown in FIG. 4. The portion packed in filter paper must finally be packed in a second aroma-tight envelope H (Fig. 3). A casing made of plastic or aluminum foil can be used as the material for this. Superfluous air is extracted from this envelope and then it is hermetically sealed, as indicated in Fig. 3 at V. This so-called vacuum packaging must be designed so that it can be opened without damaging the filter paper. It has to be big enough so that it can be torn open or cut open with scissors.
But you can also put several portions packed in filter paper together in a tin can. This can be designed as a so-called vacuum packaging. However, it is also possible to put several portions in an airtight bag.
The packaging shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 relates to a larger portion than the portion shown in FIGS. 1-3. Fig. 6 shows a smaller portion. These portions can, for example, be written on the outer vacuum packaging (not shown in FIG. 6) in grams or in portions for brewing coffee for 2, 3, 4 or more cups.
The shape of the packaging does not matter, instead of a round disc shape, any shape can be chosen. Instead of being used in a coffee filter or in an expresso machine, a simple brewing in a kettle filled with water is also possible. It is advantageous that the ground coffee remains in the paper filter and that no unpleasant <coffee grounds are formed.
When filter paper is used for the first packaging of the portion, this also means other filterable films, for example made of plastic or fine fabric, or films made of filter paper reinforced with fabric inserts.
