Descender
The present invention relates to a descender. The known devices of this type for abseiling by means of climbing ropes have the particular disadvantage that you do not need ropes of all strengths such. B.
Can use parts with or without knots.
In addition, the previously known devices do not allow stopping and secure fixation during abseiling, in order to free both hands to untangle knots, tie ropes and possibly take pictures.
The abseiling device according to the invention not only eliminates these disadvantages, but also achieves advantages described below by means of three rings connected to one another at their circumference.
In the following, an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention and the handling of the climbing rope are explained in more detail with reference to a drawing showing the same. It shows:
1 shows a view of the abseiling device with a quickly retractable rope without loosening the seat loop,
FIG. 2 shows a view according to FIG. 1, but with a rope that cannot be released by itself, and
3 shows a view according to FIG. 2, but with a rope leading over the shoulder.
The abseiling device shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 is made of a cast aluminum alloy and consists of the large ring 1, the middle ring 2 with its cam 2a and the small ring 3, which are connected to one another at their periphery and preferably as a cast or Hot pressed part can be produced. The three connected rings 1, 2 and 3 are rounded on all sides so that the climbing rope is not damaged or even destroyed by excessive friction. Despite the lighter weight of the aluminum alloy, the breaking strength is z. B. 1500 kg for the small ring and 2000 kg for the large ring, and the rings can withstand a correspondingly large jerk load without deformation and cracking, and even the heat generated locally by friction is better dissipated than with steel.
The rope can also be removed more quickly after abseiling if there are large cracks that are harmful to the rope, because a carabiner is not necessarily required.
Handling according to Fig. 1
Hang the seat loop 4 in the small ring 3 with or without a carabiner; Put the rope 5 around the middle ring 2 by means of a loop; thin or simply taken ropes allow double or even triple loops to increase the braking effect. It is impossible to loosen it automatically while abseiling. The rope can be pulled in and released very quickly without opening the seat loop.
Handling according to Fig. 2
Pull the rope loop around the small ring 3. In this case, however, the abseiling device can only be connected to the seat loop 4 by means of a carabiner (not shown) after the rope has been drawn in. The only advantage is that over-anxious minds are not afraid that the rope could come off the abseil ring. An automatic release is completely impossible in this case.
Handling according to Fig. 3
Abseiling people who like to let the rope run over their shoulder insert the rope 5 exactly as in FIG. 2, and then take it over one shoulder at 6.
The abseiling device can also be used as a brake in that the rope according to FIG. 1 runs around the middle ring 2 with one or two loops, depending on the desired braking effect. The descender with the small ring 3 is taken upwards and attached to the hook or rope loop.
To stop, lead the rope 5 once or twice around the middle ring 2 with the cam 2a and then pull another loop through the large ring 1, finally place the rope 5 over the small ring 3 and the rope 5 is then securely fixed . The cable part hanging freely downwards is designated by 7.
