Kondensator

capacitor
The present invention relates to a capacitor with a metal cup and, in particular, to the design of the connection bolts of the capacitor.
In electrolytic capacitors, which should be usable in a wide temperature range, electrolytes are used, which mean that all connections must be welded inside the capacitors. In order to achieve a reliable weld, a sufficiently large contact surface must be created for this. It is also desirable to mechanically secure the welding points.
Capacitors are already known in which the capacitor can is closed off by an insulating material plate in which connecting bolts are anchored. The anchoring is done either by riveting the connection bolt on the inside of the capacitor, which at least leads to an excessively small welding surface for the electrode connections and makes mechanical fixation of the welding point impossible, or the connection bolts are placed in the mold before the injection molding or pressing of the insulating cover. In this case, the shape of the connecting bolts can be freely selected, but it is very difficult to obtain bushings that remain tight throughout the life of the capacitor.
It is therefore an aim of the present invention to provide a capacitor which does not have the disadvantages mentioned.
The capacitor according to the invention is characterized by a Versohlussdeckel made of insulating material, which has one or more openings for receiving connecting bolts made of conductive material. It is further characterized in that the named openings in the cap have a larger diameter on the outside of the condenser than when they pass into the interior of the condenser, that in each of the named openings there is at least one ring made of elastic material, which has the connecting bolt on part of it Length and is compressed by an axial displacement of this bolt in order to guide the connection bolt through the cover cap in a sealed manner that the end of the connection bolt protruding into the interior of the capacitor is deformed in such a way that
that a bead-shaped thickening of the connection bolt is present directly on the closure cover in order to hold the connection bolt in place in the closure cover by exerting pressure on the ring made of elastic material, and that a bolt coaxial with the connection bolt with a smaller diameter than this is present, on which the closure cover facing away from said bead-shaped thickening there is an annular bearing surface which is provided for welding an electrode of the capacitor, and that the end of said coaxial bolt is deformed to form a rivet head.
The method according to the invention for producing such a capacitor is characterized in that each of the connection bolts is inserted into the corresponding opening in the cap from the outside of the capacitor after one or more rings of elastic material have been plugged on, so that the part of the capacitor protruding into the interior of the capacitor Connection bolt is reduced in diameter over part of its length with the help of a peeling process, the peeled material forming a bead resting on the closure cover and at the same time an axial displacement of the connection bolt relative to the closure cover in such a way that the ring or rings are made of elastic material is or are pressed together so that an electrode of the capacitor is welded onto the annular surface of the bead,
and that the bolt with a reduced diameter is then reshaped into a rivet head in order to mechanically fix the welding point.
An embodiment of the invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. In the drawing shows:
1 shows a section through a closure cover of a capacitor with two connection bolts; and
2a-2d different stages of deformation of a connecting bolt of the capacitor according to FIG. 1.
The capacitor shown in Fig. 1 has a metal cup 1, the open end of which is closed by a cover 2 made of insulating material. The tight fastening of the lid in the cup end can be done by any known method. The cover 2 has a continuous opening with the sections 13, 14 and 15 for each connection bolt 3. The section 13 serves to accommodate the hexagonal part 7 of the connecting bolt 3 and has a hexagon socket to prevent the connecting bolt from rotating. The adjoining cylindrical section 14 has a diameter which corresponds approximately to the key width of the hexagon and accommodates the cylindrical shoulder 8 of the connecting bolt 3 and the rubber ring 4. The cylindrical part 15 has a through hole for the shaft 9 of the connecting bolt 3.
For assembly, the connecting bolt 3 with the rubber ring 4 pushed on is inserted into the opening 13-15 and then the diameter of a part of the shaft 9 is reduced to a smaller diameter with the aid of a peeling process. The peeled-off material accumulates on the closure cover 2 and forms the bead 10, leaving the shaft part 11 of reduced diameter. During the peeling process, the rubber ring 4 is simultaneously compressed until the hexagon 7 rests against the base of the hexagon socket in part 2. Since the part 2 can be produced in an injection or compression mold with great uniformity, there is a constant compression of the rubber ring 4 and thus a constant tightness.
By choosing the length of the shaft 9 and by suitably shaping the peeling tool or by post-treating the bead 10, it can be achieved that the surface facing the inside of the capacitor has a surface quality and a sufficient size that allows this surface to be treated without post-treatment Capacitor electrode 5 to be welded to the annular surface of the bead 10 surrounding the shaft 11 in a known manner. After placing an intermediate layer 6, the remainder of the shaft 11 can now be shaped into a closing head 12 so that the welding point is mechanically fixed.
It is easy to see that this type of double riveting with an intervening weld enables the closure cover to be provided with connection bolts separately from the capacitor. If pure aluminum is used for the connection bolts, the entire bolt can be produced from a blank by non-cutting shaping.
