Means for controlling aquatic weeds The present invention relates to agents for controlling aquatic weeds.
Only a few of the herbicides on the market are also suitable for combating aquatic weeds, since they are too toxic, for example, for warm-blooded animals, fish and, # or fish food animals, and one that sets in too quickly or too slowly Effect.
With a quick and good effectiveness, the weeds are removed, but the rapidly dying plants cause a considerable drop in the oxygen content of the water and, in water with a weak current, a blockage of the drainage. Herbicides with a Lanmarn effect change the oxygen content only slightly in the practical application concentrations, but experience shows that the contact time between the herbicide and the weed is too short for effective control even in stagnant water because of the diffusion that takes place.
The frequently used herbicidal triazine derivative Z: 1 - 2-chloro-4,6-bis-ethylamino-s-triazine (sirnazine) does not fully meet the requirements of practice its effect, occurs at lanasam. It only develops a turkey effect in high concentrations and thus endangers the biological balance of the water.
It was therefore important to develop a herbicide. to which the indicated nights do not adhere. It has now been found that 2-chloro-4-tert-butylamino-6-cyclopropylamino-s-tnazine, which has not yet been described, is excellently suitable for combating aquatic weeds. The agent according to the invention is characterized in that it contains 2-chloro-4-tert.-butylamino-6-cyclopropylamino-s-triazine as the active component, optionally mixed with carriers or distributing agents.
This new triazine derivative kills the plant growth only gradually, so that the dying and sinking plant parts rot without adversely affecting the oxygen balance of the water and do not have an unfavorable effect on the biological balance. The new active ingredient is non-toxic in practical application concentrations of 0.1 to 5 mg per liter for warm-blooded animals, fish and fish nutrients. It has an exceptionally broad spectrum of activity and can be used to combat a wide variety of aquatic weeds, such as.
B. of emersed, -n plants, water plants with floating leaves. submerged plants, algae, etc. Even in the lowest concentrations, the new herbicidal active ingredient shows a clear effect after just a few days.
The new 2-chloro-4-tert.-btitvlamino-6-cvclopropylamino-s-triazine can be produced by either 4-te.-t.-butvlamino-2,6-dichloro-s-triazine with cyclopropylamine or 6-C%, clopropylamino-1,4-dichloro-s-triazine with tert.-butviamin in the presence of an acid-binding agent such as an inorganic base.
An excess of the amine used can also be used as an acid-binding agent. It's beneficial. The implementation is to be carried out in the presence of a cye ±! en over the reaction participants in an inert solvent or diluent.
For example, aromatic hydrocarbons and haloene hydrocarbons, aliphatic hydrocarbons, etc. come into consideration as such. An alkali metal hydroxide is preferably used as the inorganic base. such as sodium hydroxide is used. The reaction temperature is between 15 and 40 -C, preferably between 20 and 301 C.
The new herbicidal triazine derivative is preferably used in the form of dispersions (suspension and emulsion) which are obtained from active ingredient concentrates such as wettable powders and emulsion concentrates by diluting with water. These dispersions can either be added to the water or sprayed onto the emersed plants.
The application concentrations generally depend on the type of plant to be eliminated, i.e. for submerged aquatic weeds, floating plants and algae between 492397 3 0.1 and 5 </ B > mg per liter of water, for emersed plants between 0.5 and 4 k- per hectare of water surface.
C The following tests show the aquatic weed action of the compound according to the invention in comparison with known herbicides from the s-triazine series: 2-chloro-4,6-bis- , iih, #, lamino-s-triazine (simazine), 2-chloro-4-äthvl, ini, no-6-isopropyt- amino-s-tr # iaziii 1-atrazine) and 2-chloro-4,6- bis-isepropyl-amino-s-triazine i propazine).

The agents according to the invention are prepared in a manner known per se by intimately mixing and grinding the active ingredient with suitable carriers, with the addition of dispersants or solvents which are inert towards the active ingredient.
The active ingredient can be present and used in the following working-up forms: active ingredient concentrates dispersible in water: spice powder (wettable powder), pastes, emulsions; liquid processing forms: solutions, aerosols; Solid forms of processing: dusts and granulates.
. # tz- Agents that are dispersible in water, that is to say wettable powders, pastes and harvest concentrates, are agents that can be diluted with water to any desired concentration. They consist of active ingredient, carrier, optionally stabilizing additives, surface-active substances and antifoam agents and optionally solvents. The concentration of active ingredients in these agents is 5-80%.
The wettable powders and pastes are obtained by mixing the active ingredient with dispersants and powdery carriers in suitable devices until homogeneous and grinding. In some cases it is advantageous to use mixtures of different carriers.
The following can be used as dispersants: condensation products of sulfonated naphthalene derivatives with fennaldehyde, condensation products of naphthalene or naphthalenesulfonic acid with phenol and formaldehyde, and alkali, ammonium and alkaline earth salts of ligninsulfonic acid, further alkylarylsulfonates, alkali and alkaline earth salts of the
Fatty alcohol sulphates, such as salts of sulphated fatty alcohol ethers, the sodium salt of oleoyl ethionate, the sodium salt of oleoyl methyl tauride, ditertiary acetylene glycols, dialk-vlditaurylammonium chloride and fatty acid alkali and alkali salts.
