Deburring device on chain welding machines The invention relates to a deburring device on chain welding machines for deburring chain links.
A known trimming device of this type has two knives arranged parallel to the link plane of a c-shaped chain link at a distance from the wire diameter, which can be advanced in their longitudinal direction at an acute angle to the leg axis, so that the weld bead on the wire circumference according to two parallel tangential planes is deburred.
In this known trimming device, the limb stands upright on its continuous limb on a saddle and is held on it by upsetting steels which act on the limb curvatures at an acute angle to the longitudinal axis of the limb from both sides and obliquely above. The knives and their common knife holder can be advanced and retracted against the welding bead on one of the upsetting steels, essentially parallel to them.
This device has various disadvantages: On the one hand, the knife arrangement is located on the upset steel that can be longitudinally advanced, so that the transmission of force is cumbersome. On the other hand, the resulting play of the knife against the link - also because of the increased wear in the numerous joints and guides - is relatively large, so that a clean cut is difficult to achieve because the knives are not guided sufficiently rigid.
Thirdly, the knives have to be pushed far forward against the edging steel against the bead and brought back far again, since in the rest position they have to be outside the range of movement of the electrodes. With small link lengths, the bulge zone and the outer links of the adjacent chain links are so close together that there is a risk of the knives injuring other links.
In another known trimming device using two knives that can be advanced parallel to one another against the wire circumference and connected to one another by a knife holder, their advance is not parallel, but perpendicular to the plane of the limb, so that the trimmed tangential sectors are on the inside or outside of the welded limb are located.
Although this arrangement has the advantage over the former that it can be connected directly to the machine frame, i.e. it is independent of the upset steels, so that the operation is more precise and the cut is cleaner, this arrangement is for direct connec tion with a chain welding machine not suitable, but usually intended for a special job outside the area of the electrodes. However, it has the further disadvantage that the link must be held particularly reliably on the saddle, because the stress during deburring takes place transversely to the plane of the link and as a result the link tends to tilt.
In addition, the remaining burr is pressed into the link by the pressing jaws, because the latter are effective in the same feed direction. If you want to avoid this, you have to provide another pair of knives that can be advanced parallel to the plane of the limb.
There are also trimming devices known ge in which one or two knives are moved in the longitudinal direction of the limb over the limb. Although these designs have the advantage that the bead can be deburred over the entire circumference in one operation, they have the disadvantage that the very sensitive knives are not advanced in the longitudinal direction, but rather are subject to bending, so that they are easily broken . In addition, a special knife is required for each wire diameter, while a single pair of knives is sufficient for the known tangential cut, the distance between the knives being adjustable to the wire diameter.
All methods that do not use the tangential cut have the disadvantage that the trimming tools are subjected to dangerously high loads and break if the welding zone cools down after welding due to malfunctions or stops.
The invention is based on the object of overcoming these various difficulties. This can be achieved according to the invention by a trimming device with two parallel to the limb plane of a c-

<SEP> Finally

another deburring brought it back into the advanced position, either immediately after processing, but better after the finished link has been removed and before the new link is moved in in the same direction.
No changes to the shape of the knives are required. The knife shafts can remain sharp-edged because the guiding process is secured by the round cross-sectional shape of the chain link wire.
The newly assigned function of an adjusting device now offers two further options: On the one hand, an adjusting pin can be provided in the middle between the knives, which can be moved longitudinally in relation to the knives or their common knife holder and can be advanced under the action of a spring , whereby the advanced position of the pin in the advanced position of the knife should be selected so that the pin presses the member from above onto the saddle under spring pressure.
Since the pin is appropriately provided with a dome at its free end, it is used when pulling in the chain link for flexible guidance of the link and at the same time when it reaches the end position of the link to continuously press it against the saddle as a supplement to a corresponding pressure application by the upsetting steels. This adjusting pin can, however, be assigned the further task of indicating an incorrect position or shape of the link by connecting it to a known circuit breaker which is actuated when the link deviates from its prescribed shape when the end position is reached.
