Plant for the continuous casting of blocks The present invention relates to a plant for the continuous casting of blocks, which has an endless conveyor element arranged on two wheels.
Systems for the continuous casting of blocks are already known, in which an endless conveying element revolves via drive wheels and takes along the molds connected to the conveying element. In a known system, the pouring point is on the upper run of the conveyor and accordingly the opening of the molds is directed outwards. Because of this arrangement of the pouring point in the upper run, it is not always easy to pour the molds, since the liquid material is usually on the lower part of a container, e.g.
B. an oven or a ladle is removed. Furthermore, it is difficult and expensive to accommodate a cooling container for rapid and sufficient cooling of the castings or the blocks in the molds. This cooling container must be arranged within the space enclosed by the conveying element, so that it is limited in its size by the endless conveying element, and it is also difficult to guide water into the container or to drain it again, while the poured forms move horizontally through it. Therefore, the molds cannot be sufficiently immersed in the cooling liquid in such a container.
To remedy this disadvantage, a special and complicated arrangement is necessary by leading part of the otherwise horizontally guided conveyor chain downwards so that the molds can be sufficiently immersed in the cooling container, which, however, involves the use of special means to prevent leakage of coolant.
So that the blocks can fall out of the mold, the opening of the mold must be directed downwards, which is the case in the known system in the lower run. As a result, however, the existing height is so (, ering that it is not easy to remove the blocks from the system that have left the mold in the lower part of such a casting system. In such a system, in the upper run is poured off, and the blocks leave the molds in the lower run of the system, additional facilities are arranged outside the space enclosed by the conveyor organ.
Furthermore, in order to cool the blocks down to a certain temperature, the cooling container must have a certain length. As a result, the conveyor element for the forms must also be designed to be of a correspondingly long length. so that the whole system is relatively extensive.
The object of the present invention is to create a system for continuous casting in which it is possible in a simple manner to pour in the liquid metal and in which the cooling device is also a fold and still has a sufficient cooling effect.
Another object of the invention is to provide an installation for continuous casting. in which the blocks removed from the molds can easily be taken out and the system can still be kept simple and small.
These objects are achieved by the present invention in that casting molds are arranged on the conveyor organ, the openings of which are directed inwardly towards the conveyor organ, that an Abaiessstelle in the lower strand of the conveyor organ, and that a cooling container for cooling the castings under the lower strand of the Funding organ is arranged.
The invention is in b; shown in the drawing, for example. It shows: FIG. 1 a side view, partially in section, of a system for continuous casting, FIG. 2 a section along the line I1-11 in FIG. 1, Fig. 3 shows a section along the line III-III in Fig. I,
4 shows a partial section in an enlarged illustration through the shapes and FIG. 5 shows an enlarged illustration of the part circled in FIG. 4.
In the fie. 1 to 3, 1 denotes an endless conveyor or2an, the endless chain of which consists of rollers 2 and chain links 3 which are connected to one another in an articulated manner. The conveyor has two chain wheels 4, 5 and is driven by an electric motor 8, through which it is moved in the direction of arrow a (Fig. 1). The chain wheels 4, 5 are supported by means of skins 6. 7. Between the drive wheel 10 and the motor shaft, a chain 9 for transmitting the Drelibcwegung of the motor 8 to the sprocket 4 is arranged.
On the conveyor organ molds 11 are attached, the openings in the upper run are directed inwardly against the conveyor organ. The casting molds 11 have connecting pieces 12 (FIG. 2) which are fastened to the end face of the casting molds 11 and which are connected to the shaft of the rollers 2.
For tensioning the conveyor organ, a tensioning mechanism 13 is provided which engages the shaft 7 of the sprocket 5 and with which the conveyor chain is given a suitable tension. At 27 a rail is designated on which the blocks collect that have left the forms. 14 with a pouring channel for pouring the liquid material is designated net, which flows from a melting container or from a collecting container into the molds. This channel 14 is arranged in the 'mowing one of the chain wheels and allows continuous pouring of liquid metal into the molds. which are led past the channel one after the other. At 15, a cooling container is designated for cooling the molds.
This extends over the entire length of the lower run of the conveyor chain, i. H. over the entire distance between the two chain wheels 4, 5. The cooling container 15 has an inlet pipe 16 for introducing the cooling liquid.
The inlet pipe 16 is provided with a protective plate 17 at its inlet opening 39, so that the surge of water that could occur in the cooling container 15 through the inlet jet of the cooling liquid is influenced and the splashing of cooling liquid into the molds 11 is prevented.
So that the shapes can be immersed to a certain extent in the cooling liquid in the container 15, the liquid level is set by a closing plate 18 at each end of the cooling container 15, with a drain opening 19 in the bottom of the cooling container outside the closing plate 18 so that which overflows over the end plate 18, excess cooling liquid can be derived.
As can be seen from Fig. 4 and 5, the molds 11 are waterproof equipped with seals 29 to prevent splashes of cooling liquid between two neighboring molds 11 from penetrating into the mold. Further overlapping sheet metal strips 30 are provided to prevent liquid metal from entering the space between the molds when pouring, so that both the entry of cooling liquid into the mold and the leakage of liquid metal into the cooling container are completely prevented .
In order to separate the cast blocks gently and forcibly and to lift them out of the molds, the shaft 6 of the chain wheel 4 is equipped with guide wheels? 3 (FIG. 2). These guide wheels 23 are at a small distance from the edges of the molds 11 which merge into the upper run (FIG. 1). During the rotation of the chain wheel 4, the molds are overturned and the blocks are removed from the casting molds 11 and fed to a conveyor element 20 for removal.
The conveyor element 20 has a conveyor chain 40, which are guided around chain wheels 41. One of these wheels 41 is driven via a chain 22 which is guided between the wheel 41 and a chain wheel 21 arranged on the shaft of the chain wheel 4.
In the embodiment shown, the guide wheels 23 and the conveyor element 20 are arranged separately from one another. If, however, the guide wheels 23 themselves are designed as wheels on one side of the conveyor element 20, on which the conveyor belt 40 engages, the blocks can be guided and ejected at the same time. Even if the ob; re half of the guide wheels 23 and the conveyor member 20 is replaced by a number of fixed rails. the same ejection effect occurs as with the other described devices.
A pick-up 26 and a stacking machine 27 are provided on the removal side of the conveyor element 20. In this case, the blocks are guided through the conveyor element 20 and through the pick-up 26 into the stacking machine 27, where they can be stacked in a suitable manner and removed from the casting system here.
In the drawings, with 31 to 36 frame parts of the support structure for the conveyor element 1 be characterized, which together represent a stable frame for the latter. Wheels 37 are also provided, with the aid of which the casting installation can be moved to any location. The wheels 37 run on rails 42 and are attached to an axle 33. With such a displacement option, if there are several ovens, the system can be moved to the oven whose treatment has been completed in order to carry out the draining. If, on the other hand, such a system is operated at the same point for a long period of time, fixed supports are used instead of the wheels 37 and the rails 42.
With such a system for the continuous casting of blocks, if the pouring point and the Kühlbe container are arranged under the lower run in the lower run of the endless conveyor organ, the following advantages: 1. Because the pouring point is arranged in the lower run, the Cooling containers are not arranged within the space enclosed by the conveyor organ as in known systems, but can be arranged below the conveyor organ. For this reason, no special seals are necessary and the molds can be immersed well so that they can be effectively cooled.
2. The length of the cooling container is not restricted by the inner diamond enclosed by the conveyor element, so that the water container can be kept larger and wider and the cooling liquid can flow smoothly to the overflow plates on the two end faces of the container. The cooling effect can be improved in that the space between the sprockets is also used for cooling purposes. This allows the length of the casting plant to be reduced so that the drive can be made lighter. 3.
Because the blocks are brought onto the upper run of the conveyor element via the chain wheel, the blocks are separated after the molds have been turned, and they leave the molds in this position so that they can easily be treated further. Furthermore, the arrangement of the pouring point in the lower run of the conveyor element is favorable in order to be able to pour the molten metal directly from the lower part of a container.
4. In such a system there is no need for a structure like when pouring molten steel or any other material in the upper part of the conveyor chain. Furthermore, the cooling container and the water inlet and outlet devices can be kept simple. In addition, the length of the conveyor element can be reduced, thereby keeping the entire system simple and small, so that operation is simple.
