Withdrawal vessel for injection liquids
The invention relates to a withdrawal vessel for injection liquids, in which a container which has a neck forming an opening and a lip surrounding the neck in an annular manner, and a closure for the container opening are provided, as well as a method for opening the withdrawal vessel.
One of the most commonly used ampoule bottle closures and seals, the sterile injei; tion solutions, consists of a molded rubber stopper with a downwardly protruding cylindrical extension that is pushed into the neck of the ampoule bottle to be closed. The stopper is held tightly sealing on the neck of the ampoule bottle with the aid of a sealing ring made of anodically oxidized aluminum, which is provided with a central opening which allows the introduction of an injection needle through the stopper in order to remove all or part of the contents of the ampoule bottle. The opening in the sealing ring can initially be closed with a tear-off part, as is generally known.
In practice, the sterile ampoule bottle, which is filled with a sterile injection solution, is automatically passed under a funnel, where a washed and sterilized stopper is inserted. The ampoule bottle is then passed under another funnel, where the anodized aluminum sealing ring is added, and the bottle is then passed to a crimping station where the closure is completed.
While such constructions are commonly used, it has been found that it is very difficult to obtain rubber stoppers which have a composition such that the stoppers are completely inert to the contents of the ampoule bottle. This is especially true of the preservatives that are usually added to the injection solutions. This lack of indifference has created considerable problems and often dangerous situations.
Attempts to stop this problem by using an inert plastic, such as polytetrafluoroethylene (hereinafter referred to as PTFE) to stop the rubber, have been unsuccessful, since these plastics have only a low elasticity, which requires very high pressures in order to start a good seal ; and, after these stoppers have been pierced once with an injection needle, the lack of elasticity prevents the vial from being properly resealed. Furthermore, the mostly inert plastics, such as PTFE, are very difficult to form.
Another general difficulty when using disks made of relatively inert plastic is contamination of the injection solution by microscopic aluminum particles from the aluminum sealing ring. The sealing rings are generally produced by punching from anodically oxidized aluminum sheets.
When punching, the edges around the opening and at the lower end of the shirt of the sealing ring remain exposed. not anodically oxidized aluminum back, and microscopically fine particles and splinters of aluminum inevitably adhere to these edges. It has been shown that many of these tiny aluminum particles lode from the opening and the edges of the lips and stubbornly adhere to assembled plastic disks or stoppers, and If the seal or the closure, together with the aluminum particles adhering to it, are attached to an ampoule bottle, the A) ammonium impurities can get into the injection solution.
The object of the invention is to eliminate the disadvantages mentioned above and to create an improved closure for withdrawal vessels for injection solutions. This closure should be essentially inert to the packaged medicament. It should also be trained in this way. that contamination of the injectable preparation during the closure on the one hand and the removal of the injection liquid on the other hand is largely eliminated.
The subject of the invention is accordingly a removal vessel for injection liquids, which is characterized in that a first, inert to the injection liquid disc rests on the annular lip to form the closure, a second, elastic disc rests on the first disc, with a non-metallic pre-sealing ring a shirt portion surrounding the lip and an opening having an opening above the first and second disc is provided, in which the inner diameter of the shirt portion is dimensioned so that it fits closely to the lip of the container, and the metallic sealing ring with a shirt portion and a a disc part having an opening is surrounded,
in which the shirt part is longer than the shirt part of the non-metallic pre-sealing ring and the inner diameter of the shirt part is dimensioned so that it fits snugly against the non-metallic pre-sealing ring, and the disc part over the disc part of the nich. metallic ring.
The production of the sampling vessel according to the invention is characterized in that the pair of disks is arranged inside the non-metallic sealing ring, the container and the arrangement consisting of the pair of disks and the non-metallic sealing ring are washed and sterilized, the container is filled with the desired injection liquid, the washed and sterilized, slide the non-metallic sealing ring together with the sealing disks arranged in it over the lip of the container and push and flare the metallic sealing ring over the non-metallic pre-sealing ring.
An embodiment of the invention is described below in connection with the drawing.
1 shows an enlarged partial view, partially in section, of an ampoule bottle and illustrates a preferred embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 2 shows partially cut away a plan view of the top of the imple mentation shown in Fig. 1.
3 shows, exploded and in perspective, the parts of the improved closure illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2.
The storage and removal container 10 for injection liquids shown in the figure has a container 12 with a neck 14. The neck part 14 tapers at its lower part and thus forms a lip
16 for the container. The neck 4 is provided with a cylindrical opening 18 through which the container 12 can be filled with an injectable preparation and through which the injection liquid can be withdrawn as required
The ampoule bottle also has a closure or a seal 20 for the container 12.
This closure comprises a first disc 22, which consists of a material which is largely inert to the injection liquid to be filled into the bottle and to be stored therein. The disc 22 has a diameter which corresponds approximately to the outer diameter of the lip 16 of the neck 14 of the bottle, and a thickness in the order of magnitude of approximately 0.05 to 0.13 mm. The thickness of the disk 22 is not critically important to the invention as long as it is dimensioned such that the disk has the necessary strength and can be easily handled.
The type of materials for the disk 22 depends to a certain extent on the type of injection liquid that is stored in the container 12. In general, however, the fluorocarbon and hydrocarbon polymers have the inert properties that are desired for the disc 22. In particular, polyethylene, polypropylene and polytetrafluoroethylene (Teflon) proved to be very suitable.
The closure also includes a second disk 24, which has essentially the same outside diameter as the disk 22 and consists of an elastic natural or synthetic elastomer, such as rubber. Since the injection liquid to be retained in the container 12 does not come into contact with the disc 24, the choice of the type of elastomeric material is primarily determined by its elasticity and its ability to reseal the bottle after it has been pierced.
The two disks 22 and 24 can be punched separately and joined together or cut from foils of the respective material and then generally permanently united to form a layer structure or a plate 26 by gluing their opposite sides. It is also possible to make the panes from a layered plate, the parts of which are glued or joined together in some other way. to punch.
It is particularly preferred to adhere the panels to one another by co-vulcanization. When using an adhesive to connect the pairs of panes, the adhesive is preferably only applied to the outer part of the opposite sides of the panes, while the part located in the area of the container opening 18 remains unglued.
The plates 22 and 24 are preferably selected so that they differ in their appearance, thereby preventing the plates from being used in the wrong order during assembly. If desired, one or both of the plates can be colored with the aid of a pigment or a dye.
The closure further comprises a non-metallic pre-sealing ring 28. This ring consists of a shirt part 30 and a disc-shaped top part 32.
The shirt portion 30 of the pre-sealing ring 28 has an inner diameter such that it can be slipped tightly over the lip 16 of the container. The length of the shirt 30 of the non-metallic pre-sealing ring is chosen so that the lower part of the shirt rests against the lip, thereby retaining the pairs of washers 22 and 24 on top of the lip of the container as shown in FIG. The non-metallic pre-sealing ring can be pressed or molded from any suitable plastic material that has sufficient strength to retain its shape under normal use and conditions.
A very suitable sealing ring can be made from commercially available polyethylene.
The disc portion 32 of the non-metallic Vorich processing ring is provided at 34 with an opening. In the embodiment of the invention shown, the opening 34 has essentially the same diameter as the opening 18 in the neck 14 of the container.
The opening 34 is the point through which an injection needle can be pierced through the two sealing disks 22 and 24 when the injection liquid is to be removed from the container.
The closure further comprises a metal sealing ring 38 as a termination. This consists of the shirt part 40 and a disk part 42. The inside diameter of the shirt part is selected so that it can be slipped tightly over the non-metallic pre-sealing ring 28. The length of the shirt 40 is such that the lower portion 44 can be crimped inwardly around the lip 16, thereby placing the combination of the washers 22 and 24, the non-metallic pre-sealing ring 28 and the metallic sealing ring 38 on the neck of the container is held, as clearly shown in FIG.
The metal sealing ring 38 has a disk-shaped part 42 which, in the illustrated embodiment of the invention, is provided with an opening 46 which is arranged such that it lies over the opening 34 in the non-metallic pre-sealing ring and the opening 18 in the neck of the container 12 . In the illustrated embodiment of the invention, the opening 46 is open. If desired, the metal pre-sealing ring 38 can be partially perforated so that the opening 46 is closed until the contents of the container are to be used.
At this point in time the partially perforated part forming the opening can be torn off.
Furthermore, it is obvious to the person skilled in the art that the tear-off part extends into the side wall of the metal sealing ring 3S. can stretch so that the entire metallic sealing cap can be removed prior to use of the contents of the ampoule bottle.
Aluminum, in particular anodically oxidized aluminum, is preferred as the material for the production of the metal sealing ring 38.
The filling and sealing of the ampoule bottles for injection liquids designed according to the invention can be carried out as follows: 1. The two disks 22 and 24 are placed in the non-metallic sealing ring 28.
2. The container 12 and the assembly consisting of the two discs and the non-metallic sealing ring are washed and sterilized.
3. The container is filled with the desired injection liquid, and the washed and sterilized plastic sealing ring 28 with the inserted sealing washers 22 and 24 is pushed over the lip portion of the container.
4. At the next station, the aluminum sealing ring 38 is pushed over the container and crimped. as the arrangement shown in Fig. I shows.
