Coffee maker Devices are already known which, operating according to different principles, make it possible to obtain coffee of variable quality more or less quickly. These devices generally have the drawback of being complicated and expensive.
The present invention relates to a coffee maker comprising a cylindrical body, a lid, a water tank, a coffee tank surrounding a sleeve provided with side openings and a fine steam tube, characterized by the fact that the water tank slides in the cylindrical body when the cover is screwed onto the latter, and drives the steam supply tube which, by sliding in the sleeve, obstructs the side openings and compresses the coffee located in a fondue pot fixed to the cylindrical body.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the coffee maker which is the subject of the invention. The single figure is an elevation in longitudinal section.
The coffee maker shown comprises a housing 1 with a conical bottom intended to contain a reserve of ground coffee. Inside this housing, slides a cylindrical part 2 constituting a water tank, at the bottom of which is screwed at 8 a tube 3. Said tube 3 ends in a funnel opening on the bottom of a cylinder. 18a sleeved and slidable in cylinder 18. The bottom of this cylinder is provided with a vertical adjustment 18b. The base and the fitting are perforated so as to allow the steam brought by the tube 3 to pass into the the coffee contained in the chamber 4 and a removable caquelon 6.
The cylindrical part 2 comprises in its middle an elbow tube 7 of the same internal diameter as that of the tube 3 and opening towards the latter through the orifice 8. The tube 7 is provided with perforations 9 for capturing the vapor formed in its part. upper in the curved area. The cylindrical part 2 is also closed by screwing by means of a cover 10 sheathed in plastic material, provided with an orifice 11 serving to introduce the water and closed by a plug 12. The cover has an internal threaded part 13, which makes it possible to fix the cover and cylindrical part assembly by screwing onto the upper part 14, also threaded of the housing 1, the tightening being facilitated by means of a handle integral with this housing.
When the coffee maker is closed in this way, the tube 18a closes the side openings 5, the ground coffee contained in the caquelon 6 located below a piston integral with the tube in the chamber: 4 is compressed in this caquelon .
The spring 16 serving to maintain the cylindrical part 2 in the raised position, when the cover 10 is unscrewed, bears, on the one hand, on the bottom of the cylindrical part 2 and, on the other hand, on the base of a conical element 17, which is fixed to the upper part of the cylinder 18 surrounding the tube 3. This cylinder 18 is provided with a frustoconical glue bearing against the bottom of the housing 1.
The caquelon 6 is surrounded by a thermal insulation sheath 19.
The housing 1 is adjusted in an adjustable manner, on the support 20, a locking screw 21 enabling the perforated plate 22 to be fixed at the desired height on which the cups intended to collect the coffee are placed.
The water contained in the tank is heated by means of an electric resistance 2a which passes through the cover 10. The steam produced, the temperature of which can be regulated by a thermostat 10a, escapes through the perforations 9 and, descending into the tube 3, passes through the perforated bottom 4a and then permeates the ground coffee contained in the caquelon 6. The liquid coffee then flows through the perforated bottom 6a of the caquelon and then through the two dispensing cannulas 6b.
To replace the used coffee, all you have to do is remove the caquelon 6, throw out the coffee grounds and replace it, unscrewing the cover 10, so that the side openings 5 release the coffee into the caquelon.
Various fondue pots can be used depending on the number of cups desired. A particularly interesting advantage of this device lies in the fact that it is in fact possible to obtain variable quantities of coffee, with the same coffee maker, by changing this caquelon and, at the same time, by changing the set 3, 4, 5 d soul born of steam. In this way, the quantity of ground coffee penetrating into 6 is changed, an amount which can be dosed for two, four or six cups and even, in some cases, for a single cup.
The described coffeemaker thus makes it possible by simple means to rapidly obtain variable doses at will of a coffee of excellent quality.
The ground coffee contained in the reserve should preferably be fine-grained.
