Device for supplying wrapping material to a machine for the production of large packs, in particular multipacks
The invention relates to a device for feeding wrapping material to a machine for the production of large packs, in particular multipacks, in which the wrapping material is guided perpendicular to the conveying direction of the group of objects to be packaged through a slot in the conveyor table top in front of a folding channel and then around the latter in a U-shape front face of the group of objects is folded.
Such devices are well known. The wrapping material is pushed down between vertical guide bars or guide surfaces and guided with its lower edge through a slot in the conveyor table. Since the guide bars or guide surfaces must be arranged at a distance above the conveyor table that is greater than the height of the objects to be packaged, the wrapping material remains completely unguided over a distance corresponding to this distance until its lower edge enters the slot. The introduction of the wrapping material into the slot can therefore lead to difficulties in the case of thin, non-rigid wrapping material, especially since the width of the slot should be much narrower than half the thickness of the individual items of a group of items to be packaged so that they can be pushed safely over the slot.
The invention aims to overcome the difficulties caused by inserting the wrapping material into the slot of the conveyor table.
The invention is characterized in that movable guide means are provided which are brought into the area of the folding channel during the advance of the wrapping material, where they keep the moving strip under control and are then removed again from the area of the folding channel, in such a way that the passage for the packing unit is released again in good time.
In the drawing, a known device and an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention are shown schematically.
Show it:
1 shows a view of a device for supplying wrapping material of a previously known type,
FIGS. 2 and 3 show two phases of the formation of the envelope around the objects,
4 shows a view of the device according to the invention in a position with the wrapping material inserted into the slot of the conveyor table, and FIG
FIG. 5 shows a view of the device according to FIG. 4 in a position at the beginning of the feed movement for a blank of wrapping material.
In case of multipack machines of known type, the wrapping material is fed by the device shown in FIG. The wrapping material 1 is pressed against the feed roller 3 by feed rollers 2.
By turning the same in the direction of the arrow, the feed takes place. The wrapping material successively passes the cutting device formed by the scissor blades 4 and 4 ', the passage formed by the upper end 5' of the folding channel 5 and several paper guide rods 6, which in turn are firmly attached to a carrier 7. The wrapping material is then advanced unguided by the distance x, which must be slightly greater than the height of the objects 9 to be packaged, and then has to pass with its lower edge through the slot 10 of the conveyor table plate 11.
If the wrapping material 1 is ready, the objects 9 placed in front of it, e.g. B. individual packages, inserted into the folding channel 5 formed by the table top 11 and the cover plate 5 ', the wrapping material 1 wrapping around the objects 9 in the manner shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. The wrapping material section has a length which results in a protrusion both above and below, which ensures a flap overlap during further folding so that the flaps can be glued.
The entry of the wrapping material 1 into the slot 10 can present difficulties, especially in cases where the distance x must be selected to be large and also when using non-rigid wrapping materials. This difficulty is intended to be overcome by the invention described below. It consists in the fact that in the slot 10 of the conveyor table plate 11 a movable guide is arranged to facilitate the introduction of the wrapping material 1 into the slot, which is extended out of the slot 10 in the rhythm of the wrapping material feed and returned to the slot after the respective wrapping material section has been taken over.
One possible embodiment is shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. 4 shows the additional guide for the wrapping material in the lowered position with a group of individual packages which have just been set in motion by the longitudinal slide 8. Fig. 5 shows the guide in the extended position, which it assumes during the advance of the wrapping material.
The wrapping material 1 is advanced in the same way as has already been described with reference to FIG. 1, through the rollers 2 and the roller 3.
The movable guide has two guide surfaces 20 and 22, which are made of plate-shaped material, such as. B.
Sheet metal, or from individual strips, e.g. B. of wire, may be formed.
The guide surface 20 is rigidly connected via a carrier 19 to a lever 15, which in turn is articulated to the support 17 fixed to the frame via a bolt 16.
The lever 15 is driven, for. B. pneumatically by a cylinder 12, the piston rod of which is hinged to a bolt 14 of the lever 15, while the cylinder itself is supported on a bolt 13 fixed to the frame. The guide surface 20 is preferably shaped in such a way that it maintains a constant radius relative to the bolt 16.
This allows the gap between the retracted wrapping material section 1 and the table top 11 to be kept as narrow as possible, which is a prerequisite for the smooth transition of the objects 9 over the slot 10.
The guide surface 22 is clamped onto a shaft 18 by two lateral yokes 21, which in turn is rotatably mounted in the lever 15. While the front paper guide 20 is rigidly connected to the lever 15, the rear paper guide 22 is connected to the lever 15 in an articulated manner, so that the paper guide 22 can pivot relative to the lever 15. This pivoting movement is forced by a pull rod 23 and a lever 25.
The lever 25 is also clamped onto the shaft 18. The pull rod 23 is articulated on a bolt 26 attached to the lever 25. Its other end is mounted on the support 27 fixed to the frame via a bolt 24.
Due to the position of the frame-fixed bolts 16 and 24 on the one hand and the lengths of the levers 15 and 25 and the pull rod 23 on the other hand, it can be achieved that the rear paper guide 22 swings out during the extension in such a way that, in the extended position, a large, funnel-shaped opening between the guides 20 and 22 arises, into which the wrapping material 1 is safely inserted.
The extended guides 20, 22 reduce the distance which the wrapping material has to cover without being guided to a much smaller value.
The lowering of the guide surfaces 20 and 22 can already take place during the feed of the wrapping material, but preferably the upper edges of the two guide surfaces should not lead the beginning of the packaging material when lowering. In the lowered position (FIG. 4) of the guide surfaces 20 and 22, the same are no longer in front of the table top 11; the guide surfaces leave a gap of sufficient width between them, which ensures that the packing material can be pulled out properly at the beginning of the folding process.
