Fig. 2 und 4).
Fig. 5).
Fig. 2 und 5).
Fig. 2).
Fig. 5).
Belt sander The invention relates to a belt sander with a sanding pressure extending over the entire length of the sanding belt, exerting the sanding pressure on an endless, rotating sanding belt, the effective pressure surface of which is automatically controlled by the workpiece passing through and arranged at intervals along its length Holding elements such as bolts or the like is suspended adjustable in height, which are each supported by cross members mounted on rams as a height-adjustable support device.
The object of the invention is to sand with such belt sanding machines, especially when sanding with thin veneers or with thin layers of lacquer be covered workpieces, on the one hand front and rear edge and on the other hand the side edges of the workpiece when passing under the pressure beam against sanding through.
Another object of the invention is to provide a belt grinder in which the automatic adjustment of the pressure surface with its effective sam-becoming sections takes place directly depending on the shape of the workpiece.
According to the present invention, the belt grinding machine is characterized in that each plunger is arranged with a pressure piston surface in a pressure medium chamber acted upon depending on the position of a switching device moved by the workpiece.
In a preferred embodiment, adjacent shift levers can be connected to one another as shifting devices by means of another partially entraining towing devices such as drag strips.
According to a further exemplary embodiment, a lock acting as a constant delay device is arranged between the ram and cross member, which acts on the time difference on the one hand between the contact of a device scanning the front edge of the workpiece and the start of the grinding process and on the other hand between the contact of a rear edge of the workpiece scanning device and the end of the grinding process is adjustable.
In a further preferred embodiment, a pawl is provided in the area of the plunger, which is designed as a piston rod, and intermediate adjustment devices remain locked in their movement for a certain time after the contact has been made, until their movement allows the pressure inherent in the hose of the pressure beam to take effect and the effective contact surface of the pressure beam lowers.
Here too, in order to improve the infinitely variable adjustability of the effective pressure surface of the pressure beam, adjacent pressure medium chambers are preferably to be effectively connected to one another in such a way that pressure medium chambers not controlled by the workpiece are partially controlled, so that pistons with plungers arranged therein are also partially raised or lowered .
With the belt sander provided, only that part of the pressure surface of the pressure beam that corresponds to the size and shape of each workpiece to be sanded through is automatically effective.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. 1 shows a front view of an embodiment of the belt grinder according to the present invention with pressure bar and control devices, FIG. 2 shows a cross section through the pressure beam with side view of a control device according to the section line 1-1 in FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a plan view the pressure bar with ver sets arranged pressure medium cylinders, Fig. 4 is a plan view of the pressure bar arranged sensing and control devices,
Fig. 5 is a longitudinal section through a pressure medium chamber of the pressure beam and Fig. 6 is a plan view of the upper part of the lever mechanism corresponding to FIG. 5. In the frame 10 of a belt grinder, in which the workpieces to be ground 11 transversely to the running direction of a grinding belt 12 by means Conveyor belt 13 or the like are guided through the machine, an elastic pressure beam 14 extending over the entire grinding length of the machine is attached to U-profile-shaped support beams 15 and 16 extending over its entire length, which are connected to one another with a base plate 17 of the same length.
Between tween this base plate 17 and an elastic steel plate 19 suspended from tie rods 18a and 18b, a hose 20 is arranged, which serves to receive the pressure medium generating the elasticity, preferably air.
Under this elastic steel plate 19, a mat 21 made of felt, foam rubber or the like is glued, which is covered by a loosely laid sliding mat 22 below abge. This sliding mat 22 is hung at one end of the pressure beam 14 and stretched at the other end of the pressure beam 14 by a clamping device, not shown. The pressure bar 14 extends over the endless sanding belt 12 of the belt sander.
The grinding belt 12, which is also tensioned, runs under the sliding mat 22 and in constant contact with it. The entire pressure surface of the pressure bar 14 is in the upper position, so not in Arbeitsstel development.
The tie rods 18a and 18b are held at their obe Ren ends by lock nuts 23, 24 in tension levers 25, 26.
On the belt grinder is in front of the pressure bar 14. a height-adjustable retaining rail 27 extending over the entire grinding length of the machine 27. At the same distance on the retaining rail 27 attached projecting brackets 28 are shift levers 29 rotatably mounted about axes 30, which take up a roller 31 at their lower end. A compression spring 32 is attached to the shift lever 29 between the axis 30 and the roller 31 and has its abutment on the bracket 28 at its other end.
Above half of the axis 30, the shift lever 29 is provided with a cam 29 a, which runs under a ball bearing 33 which is attached to a pivot lever 35 rotatably mounted about a bolt 34 th. This pivot lever 35 actuates a plunger 37 of a three-way valve 38 with its free end via an adjusting screw 36.
Between roller 31 and axis 30, a drag strip 39 is screwed to each shift lever 29, which is seen with its two free and provided with recesses 39a, horizontally extending ends in the feed direction of the workpiece, in front of the two be adjacent shift levers 29, without being stir. So that the drag strips 39 of adjacent shift levers 29 do not overlap, the Schlepplei most 39 are alternately offset in height.
The drag strips on the outer switching levers 29 have only one free end directed inwards (see FIGS. 2 and 4).
In the illustrated embodiment, compressed air at constant pressure is fed directly to a hose connector 40 and to the top of a piston 41, which is slidable in an interior 42 formed by a cylinder tube 46 and a base plate 47, via a line network with a pressure reducing valve and equalization vessel is through which a channel 48 with a hose connector 49 placed in front is passed (cf. FIG. 5).
Intermittent counterpressure acts on the underside of the piston 41 via the supply line 52 or discharge line 53 through the hose connector 49, likewise via a line network with a pressure reducing valve, equalization tank, three-way valve 38 and throttle 50 and buffer tank 51 by means of a regulating lever 54, which has a ver tical elongated hole 54a or the like at the free end, in which a guide pin 65 engages, which is arranged on a running rail 66, set.
The running rail 66 rests in a guide rail 67 which is adjustable in the longitudinal direction by a hand wheel 68 with a spindle 69, whereby the angular position of the regulating lever 54, which is attached to the throttle 50, is changed and the air flow rate of the throttle 50 is thus centrally controlled.
The piston 41 is axially supported with the piston rod 43 and the nose 44 located thereon in a cover 45 (cf. FIGS. 2 and 5).
The free end of the piston rod 43 presses under a roller 55 of a control lever 56 which is fastened on a rotatably mounted shaft 57. Pull levers 25 and 26 are also attached to the same shaft 57, which in turn hold the elastic steel plate 19 via the pull rods 18a and 18b (see FIG. 2).
If the pressure surface of the pressure bar 14 is in the upper position, ie not in the working position, the control lever 56 is supported with its roller 55 on the free end of the piston rod 43 (see FIG. 5).
Immediately below the free end of the control lever 56 is a roller 60 with a pivot point 61a pivotable pawl 61, which is held by a pressure spring 63 inserted between it and a counter-bearing 62 attached to the cover 45 Ge pressure spring 63 in its position. If the piston 41 is moved downwards in that the counter pressure drops to 0 as a result of the actuation of the control device and the constant grinding pressure takes effect via the hose connector 40,
so presses the nose 44 on the piston rod 43 with its run-up bevel 44a after covering a certain distance on the pawl 61 located second roller 64 and thus pawl 61 and roller 60 overcoming the force of the compression spring 53 aside.
As a result, the tilting movement of the control lever 56 is released, which is caused by the elastic pressure present in the hose 20 via tie rods 18a and 18b, tension levers 25, 26 and shaft 57.
Since the piston rod 43 only covers a certain distance before the control lever 56 releases the downward movement of the tie rods 18a and 18b, there is a delay between the actuation of the control elements by the workpiece 11 and the assumption of the lower position by the pressure surface of the pressure beam 14.
The machine according to FIGS. 1 to 6 works as follows: The workpiece 11 entering the machine for grinding pushes the roller 31, which is set slightly lower than the upper edge of the workpiece, in the direction of the pressure beam 14. The roller 31 describes an arc around the axis 30 of the switch lever 29 overcoming the pressure of the compression spring 32. The cam 29a located at the upper end of the switch lever 29 rolls under the ball bearing 33 and presses this and thus the free end of the pivot lever 35 around the bolt 34 upwards.
Located at the free end of the pivot lever and serving to compensate for any machining tolerances, an adjusting screw 36 pushes the plunger 37 into the three-way valve 38 so that the supply line 52 for the compressed air is closed and an exhaust line 53 is opened. The processes triggered by the workpiece 11 passing through take place in all those pistons 41 which are directly or indirectly controlled by the switching levers 29 actuated by the workpiece 11 passing through. The drag strips 39, which are located on the outer switching levers 29, take with their outwardly directed free ends the adjacent switching levers 29, which are not actuated directly by the workpiece 11, so that they are also pivoted about the axes 30 assigned to them.
The extent of this pivoting movement is smaller than in the case of the switching levers 29 actuated directly by the workpiece 11, because the drag strips 39 are provided with recesses 39a at their ends. This entrainment of neighboring switch levers 29 by drag strips 39 continues gradually decreasing on both sides of the workpiece 11 passing through, so that of some switch levers 29 not directly operated by workpiece 11 on both sides of workpiece 11 passing through, each outer switch lever 29 is somewhat less is pivoted than the adjacent inner one (see Fig. 4).
This ensures that the pressure surface of the pressure beam 14 exerts a grinding effect wherever the workpiece 11 is located under the pressure beam 14. Since next to, on both sides, the pressure surface of the pressure bar 14 gradually rises up to the normal position, which it holds at a certain distance from the workpiece.
Analogous to the possible different throughput speeds of the workpiece 11 there is the need to reduce or increase the delay between actuation of the shift lever 29 by the workpiece 11 and to press or lift off the pressure surface of the pressure bar 14. The throttle 50, which is effective in both flow directions, is used for this purpose.
This throttle 50 is installed in the line network that leads the compressed air to the lower surface of the piston 41. If the throttle 50 is set to a larger or smaller passage than the feed speed of the machine, the appropriate delay time can be achieved.
The result is that the front edge of the workpiece covers a greater distance between the contact of the roller 31 and the start of the grinding process than the rear edge of the workpiece between the release of the roller 31 and the end of the grinding process. This means that the delay at the start of the grinding process must be greater than at its end. This is appropriately taken into account that an additional delay occurs only at the beginning of the grinding process in that the lug 44 on the piston rod 43 only pushes the pawl 61 supporting the control lever 56 to the side when the piston rod 43 has already reached a certain part of it Has completed downward movement (embodiment according to FIGS. 5 and 6).
If the rear edge of the passing workpiece 11 releases the roller 31, the compression spring 32 pushes the switching lever 29 back into its original position. As a result, 29 ball bearings 33 and free end of the pivot lever 35 are lowered on the cam 29 a of the switching lever; the adjusting screw 36 allows the plunger 37 of the three-way valve 38 to emerge. The discharge line 53 thus closes at the same time as the supply line 52 opens. Due to the compressed air flowing into the interior 42 under the piston 41, the pressure surface of the pressure bar 14 is lifted into the starting position.
The proposed design of a pressure bar ensures that the work pieces fed to the machine are sanded evenly and fully at all points during the sanding process, but not sanded through at any edge, regardless of the size and shape of a workpiece and the position in which the Workpieces are fed to the machine.
The control of the pressure surface of the pressure beam with the aim of adapting it to the workpiece passing through can also be done in a different way than described here, e.g. B. photoelectric way or via solenoid valves.
As a delay device, both a variable device, such as a throttle, which is to be set depending on the feed speed, and a constant device, such as pawl, which depends on the time difference on the one hand between contact and the start of the grinding process and on the other hand between Making contact and the end of the grinding process works should be provided.
