Air humidifier with a heating device The main patent describes an air humidifier with a heating device and a container for holding water to be evaporated, the heating device acting on at least one heat emission surface. According to the patent claim of the main patent, this air humidifier is characterized in that the heat emission surface is provided with a coating made of a non-metallic, water-impermeable material.
In the case of an air humidifier which works according to the evaporation principle, this coating is intended to prevent the boiling noise which otherwise occurs in known devices of this type and which is perceived as unpleasant if it continues to occur. It has now been shown in the operation of such an air humidifier that the evaporation of the water contained in the container creates a concentrated solution in the container, which is equivalent to an electrolyte, and which becomes more concentrated the less often, for reasons of convenience, the water contained in the container is replaced by clean Water is replaced.
In particular, if the part having the heat-releasing surface, on which the heating device acts, and the container receiving the water are made of different metals, a galvanic element results together with the solution that acts as an electrolyte and which becomes more concentrated with prolonged operation, which leads to corrosion of the heat-releasing surface or the container leads. The deposition of the lime mostly contained in the water and the lime deposit that forms with it acts in the same unfavorable way.
It has been shown that the corrosion also occurs below the coating on the heat dissipation surface, which is used to prevent the boiling noise, and the humidifier is consequently unusable at an early stage.
These disadvantages must be eliminated so that the service life of the device does not depend on such factors. This is achieved in the humidifier of the above type according to the invention in that the heat emission surface is formed by a heating head and the heating head and the container are made of different metals with different normal potentials, the material of the heating head in the voltage series having a higher negative potential than that of the container, and the heating head has heat-emitting ribs, at the ends of which the coating of the heating head made of a non-metallic, water-impermeable material has been removed for intended corrosion at these points.
If the heating head is preferably made of magnesium or a magnesium alloy and the container is made of pure aluminum, the less noble metal in the series reacts more or less with the more or less concentrated solution acting as an electrolyte than the aluminum, so that the magnesium, from the the heating head is formed, is worn away over time by corrosion. It is now expedient to allow this corrosion to take place in a place where the service life of the apparatus is not impaired.
For this reason, the coating of non-metallic, water-impermeable material, which surrounds the heating head and which is intended to prevent the occurrence of boiling noises, is preferably removed at the points that are relatively least heated, i.e. the upper ends of the ribs, which are furthest away from the heating device and which no longer contribute to the occurrence of boiling noises due to their temperature. In a preferred manner, the ribs therefore extend above a heating head base body, which encloses the heating device, in the interior of the container and running radially from a center over this base body.
This design ensures that the service life of the device is not impaired, even with advancing corrosion and the resulting gradual degradation of the ribs, as this degradation of the ribs takes so long after which other parts have to be replaced due to normal wear and tear .
Surprisingly, the described training also has the advantage that the lime deposit on the container, which otherwise formed a solid, difficult-to-remove coating, is now porous and loose and thus even easily flushed away, which is due to the

Presumably the presence of metal dissolved by corrosion in the water.
Further details of the invention emerge from the following description, the claims and the drawing, in which an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown purely by way of example. 1 shows a schematic diagram of the air humidifier according to the invention in a longitudinal section; Fig. 2 is a plan view of the humidifier.
The embodiment of the air humidifier shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has a housing 11 and a container 12, which is open at the top, suspended therein, the cylindrical jacket 13 and flat bottom 14 of which are separated from the housing 11 by an air gap 15 serving for thermal insulation. The heating head 18 is attached to the bottom 14 of the container 12 and a heating element 16 is arranged in a recess 17 on the underside of this heating head. In order to seal the recess 17, the heating head 18 has a sealing ring 20 in a circumferential groove 19 open towards the bottom 14 of the container 12.
Furthermore, the heating head 18 has on the top of its base body, which surrounds the heating device 16, ribs 21 extending radially outward from a center.
The metallic heat emission surfaces of the heating head, which is preferably made of magnesium, and on which the heating element 16 acts directly, are provided with a coating 22 made of a non-metallic, water-impermeable material that adheres to the heat emission surface, but with the exception preferably of the upper ends of the Ribs 21, ie at the points where corrosion, which is in any case unavoidable, is supposed to occur and which have the lowest temperature overall of the heating head and consequently do not cause any boiling noise.
With the exception of the upper ends of the ribs, all heat dissipation surfaces of the heating head, including the side surfaces of the ribs, are provided with the coating 22, which consists of a layer approximately 0.1 mm thick. The coating can be a stoving varnish that hardens to form a permanent, water-impermeable layer.
Furthermore, a polymeric plastic, for example polytetrafluoroethylene or copolymerization products of tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene, silicone resins or silicone rubber, and epoxy resins can be used as the coating, which must be resistant up to temperatures of about 200.degree.
