Rasenschneider
Fig. 4 eine Draufsicht zu Fig. 3.
Lawn cutter
The present invention relates to a lawn cutter, in particular for cutting the lawn at the edges and in difficult-to-access Stel sources.
In such places, for example under bushes or drooping branches, the lawn is mostly cut with the help of hand shears. In addition, small hand lawn mowers with horizontal knife rollers are known. However, these have the disadvantage that they are not always easy to guide along the edges of lawns and that they also cover deep-lying branches of shrubs and trees.
These disadvantages are now to be avoided in the lawn trimmer according to the invention in that it is equipped with at least one finger bar and at least one cutting blade that works together with it, the finger bar lying in a horizontal plane running in a circular segment-shaped arc, in the center of which the propeller-like cutting blade designed as a rotating body is rotatably mounted about a vertical axis.
The lawn cutter according to the invention can easily be fed to places that are difficult to access.
Since the cutter only circles a little above the ground and parallel to it, even branches that hang down deeply, provided they are not directly on the ground, are not detected. Although cutting blades rotating in a horizontal plane are known in lawnmowers, the grasses are not cut off, but rather chopped off. However, such lawnmowers only produce a clean cut where the grasses are unable to evade sufficiently, but are prevented from doing so by the neighboring blades of grass not caught by the knife. However, such supports are absent at the edges of the lawn. In addition, wherever the lawn is bounded by walls or fences, such lawnmowers cannot be brought close to them.
Since the device according to the invention does not cut off the clippings but shears them off, it can be used very well as a hedge trimmer in addition to a lawn cutter.
In the drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown, namely:
1 shows a side view of a first embodiment of the lawn trimmer with a handle molded onto its housing,
Fig. 2 is a horizontal section along the line II-II in Fig. 1,
3 shows a side view of a second embodiment of the lawn trimmer with a motor, partially in section along the line 111-111 through the protective housing, and FIG
FIG. 4 shows a plan view of FIG. 3.
The lawn trimmer shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has a finger bar 1 made of a horizontal steel plate, which extends at the front in an arc-shaped arrangement over at least 180 degrees and is provided with radial cutting fingers 1 '. A vertical working shaft 3 is rotatably mounted in a bearing 2 ′ on a bearing bracket 2 firmly connected to the finger bar 1. At the lower end of the shaft 3, a propeller-like two-wing shear blade 5 is removably arranged on a driver 4 and is secured by a screw 6. The shearing knife can also be designed with multiple blades instead of two blades.
The two ends of the shearing knife 5 are each provided with a serrated cutting edge 5 ′, which work closely together with the cutting fingers 1 ′ on the finger bar 1. A V-belt pulley 7 is arranged on the upper end of the working shaft 3 protruding from the bearing 2 ′ and is secured by a nut 8. A fork-shaped holder 10 is fastened to a transverse bar 9 of the rear part of the console 2 by means of a flange-like part 10 ′ by screws 11.
The drive motor 12 is fastened by means of screws 13 between the fork legs of the holder 10. The Mobor is provided with a handle 12 'which is cast onto its housing in a known manner and on which the lawn cutter can be easily guided. 14 is the plug-in cable that can be connected to a socket in the mains, and 15 is the switch for switching the motor on and off. A V-belt pulley 17, which is connected to the V-belt pulley 7 of the working shaft 3 by a V-belt 18, is attached to the downwardly directed end of the motor shaft 16. The screw 6 can be removed through an opening 19 in the finger bar 1 that is concentric to the working shaft 3, so that the shear knife 5 can be pulled out.
The second embodiment of the lawn trimmer according to FIGS. 3 and 4 has a cutting front that is approximately twice as wide as that of the first embodiment. This is made possible by the fact that two curved finger bars 21, arranged next to one another and merging into one another, are formed from a single steel plate. The cutting fingers 21 ′ of the two finger bars 21, arranged in two adjacent circular arcs, each work together with a propeller-like knife 25 with corrugated cutting edges 25 ′, which knives are held at the lower ends of vertical working shafts 23 by drivers 24 and secured by screws 26, see above that after removing the latter, the knives can be pulled out, e.g. B. if these are to be reground.
The two shear propellers 25 are arranged offset from one another in terms of the rotational position of their blades and are driven via a gear so that one shear propeller rotates clockwise and the other shear propeller counterclockwise. The working shafts 23 are mounted in bearings 22 ′ of a fork-shaped bracket 22, seen from above, the rear part of which is firmly connected to the finger bar 21. Gears 27 are arranged on the upper ends of the working shafts 23 and are secured by nuts 28. The gears 27 mesh with gears 29, the axes 30 of which are guided in bearings 22 ″ of the console 22).
A V-belt pulley 31 is integrally formed on a hub of the one gear 29 above this. 32 is a motor fastened to a protective housing 33 surrounding the transmission, on whose shaft 34 a V-belt pulley 35 is fastened, which is connected to the V-belt pulley 31 by a V-belt 36. On both sides of the finger bar 21, runners 37 are arranged on the underside to be height-adjustable by means of screws 38. Instead of the runners, a chassis provided with height-adjustable rollers or wheels can also be provided. 39 is a bumper attached to the housing 33, by means of which the lawn cutter described can be conveniently pushed over the lawn.
The housing 33 can also be shaped in such a way that it encloses the motor and the transmission which are fastened to the console in the case shown.
It is also possible to design the lawn trimmer without a motor, with the shear blade or shear blade being driven, for example, from the wheels carrying the housing.
