Method for the vibration-isolating storage of a body exposed to at least one shock and means for its execution The present invention is a method for the vibration-isolating mounting of a body exposed to at least one shock on a support body and means for performing the method.
A considerable vibration problem occurs in looms for textile purposes, which is primarily caused by the sley that pushes the weft threads together and by the drive for the shuttle. In this context, reference is made to U.S. Patent No.
2,187,510 and the Shock and Vibration Handbook by Harris and Crede, 1961 Edition, McGraw-Hill, Volume 2, pages 32-6, 32-7. The sley, an unbalanced, reciprocating link weighing about 90-225 kg, vibrates at a frequency of 100-300 vibrations per minute and a double amplitude of about 15 cm.
The line of action of the inertial force, which can be traced back to the oscillations of the sley, is usually above and sometimes below the center of gravity of the loom and leads to the generation of forward and backward, horizontal and vertical reaction forces at the feet of the loom or at the points at which the loom is attached to the supporting structure.
In addition to the reaction forces that can be traced back to the movements of the sley, lateral horizontal and reaction forces are also generated by the drive for the shooter. When the loom is rigidly attached to its supporting structure, the forces occurring at the fastening points are transmitted directly to the supporting structure. In practice, this has often led to serious damage to the loom and the building.
The aim of the present invention is now to provide a process and means for its execution that allow the vibration-isolating storage of a minimum, least a force impact body, for example a loom, a vibrating feeder, conveyor, sieve, etc., under each Circumstances, even if the respective impact force resulting does not go through the body's center of gravity, guarantee perfectly.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that the support body and the body to be supported are brought into operative connection with one another, so that the last-mentioned body is supported by the support body so that it can pivot about at least one axis with practically no resistance, around the alternate positions of the axis mentioned, the Line of action of the respective impact force and the center of gravity of the body to be stored, so that practically no or at most a predetermined,
Reaction force caused by the respective impact force arises on the support body. On the other hand, the means for carrying out the method according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises devices by means of which the body to be supported is held by the support body so that it can pivot about the axis mentioned.

20 shows a schematic side view of a vibrating feeder or conveyor or a vibrating screen, FIGS. 21, 22 and 23 are schematic representations of modified embodiments, FIG. 24 is a schematic side view of a device on which vibratory forces are exerted by a drive which is supported by a construction,
which is arranged in the interior of the device and FIG. 25 is a schematic side view of a device on which the vibrational forces are exerted by a drive which is supported by a structure which is arranged outside the device.
The loom 1 shown schematically in the drawings weighs 1810 kg, for example, and is additionally loaded with thread material and finished goods.
If the fabric and the finished product are removed, the size and position of this additional load changes constantly. The main source of vibrations in the loom is the sley 2, which is moved back and forth with the aid of a crank 3 at a frequency of 100-300 vibrations per minute. The sley weighs 91-227 kg.
The vibration forces generated by it generally have a detrimental effect on the building in which the loom is installed. Since the size of these forces grows with the square of the speed, the effects are intensified by the modern trend towards operation at high speeds.
In order to avoid the destructive effect of these vibrations, the loom is carried by a bracket ge in which the inertia of the web chair itself is used to isolate the vibrations. In one embodiment, the holder has a sheet metal plate 4 which is heated up on the floor.
At the opposite ends of the water plate support pieces 5 are attached, which are in a fixed relationship to feet 6, which are arranged at the opposite ends of the side frames of the loom. The support pieces 5 and the feet 6 have surfaces 7 and B. These surfaces can be flat or have any desired curvature and are approximately at right angles to center lines 9 which pass through a point 10. The point 10 lies on an axis which is arranged under half of the center of gravity 11 of the loom.
This center of gravity lies between this axis and the line of action 12 of the sum of the forces acting on the sley arrangement. The point 10 and the line of action 12 are always arranged on opposite sides of the center of gravity 11 of the loom. For example, the point 10 is located below the center of gravity 11 when the line of action is above the center of gravity.
In the ideal case, the point 10 has such a position that the line of action 12 of the sley passes through the center of oscillation of the loom for the point 10. If the movement is hindered in this way, the force generated by the sley it does not lead to a tangential reaction on the holder. Since the weight of the loom changes constantly during the weaving process,
the line of action of the forces generated by the sley cannot go exactly through the center of oscillation of the loom. However, useful results are also obtained if point 10 is chosen so that the line of action lies near the center of oscillation.
In order to prevent the transmission of vibrations, the friction must be reduced to a minimum. For this purpose, the roller 13 is arranged between the surfaces 7, 8. The surfaces 7, 8 are shown flat, but can also be curved. For the small movements of the loom around point 10, which are 6 mm or less on surfaces 7, 8, these surfaces are practically equivalent to arcs of a circle, the center of which is at 10. At the same time, these surfaces have a centering effect, so that the loom is carried in an upright position in a stable manner.
When the loom is pivoted in one direction or the other from a central position, the loom is raised so that a restoring force is present which tends to return the loom to the central position.
If the surfaces 7, 8 were actually arcs of a circle with the center 10, the loom would be unstable and not remain in its central position because the focus is above the point 10.
The rollers 13 can rest directly on the surfaces 7, 8. However, flexible belts 14, 15 can also be inserted between the roller and the surfaces. The bands 14 are fastened at one end with a pin 16 to the foot 6 and extend along the surface 8 downwards below the roller 13 and along the surface 7 upwards to a pin 17 which slides in a slot 18 of the support piece 5 and with a clamping screw 19 is set.
The straps 15 are attached at one end to the foot 6 with a pin 20 and extend upwards and upwards along the surface 8 around the roller 13, then downwards along the surface 7 to a pin 21, the other opposite ends of which in Slots 22 of the support piece 5 are displaceable and adjustable with a clamping screw 23.
With this arrangement, the roller 13 is effectively held between the belts 14 and 15, but can roll on the surfaces 7, 8 and thereby allow the entire loom to pivot about point 10. In an exemplary embodiment of a loom, its movement on the surfaces 7, 8 is approximately 6 mm. This movement does not affect the function of the loom.
The formula for determining the position of the pivot point 10 such that the line of action 12 of the forces generated by the sley goes through the center of oscillation of the loom is b = (a + ä). Since b is the distance between the line of action 12 from the pivot point 10, a is the distance between the line of action 12 from the center of gravity of the loom and r is the radius of inertia of the loom around its center of gravity.
The support members shown can be replaced by their kinematic equivalents, as shown in FIGS. 5, 6, 7, 8 and 13. In FIG. 5, simple links 24 are used, the lower ends of which are pivotably mounted at 25. This point corresponds to the pivot point 10. The upper ends of the links are pivotably connected to the loom at the points 26, which correspond to the rollers 13.
Springs 27 between tween the loom and the floor ensure the stability of the loom. The links 24 allow the same type of movement as the rollers 13 and their associated construction 5, 6, 7, B.
In FIG. 6, flexible elastomeric layer bodies are arranged by 28, 29, 30 between the support pieces 5 and the feet 6. The elastomer body 29 is firmly connected to the plates 28, 30 which are attached to the support pieces 5 and 6 feet. Under load, the flexible elastomeric layered bodies enable the same movement as the rollers 13. The elastomeric body causes additional power transmission to the support.
In Fig. 7 short links 31 are arranged between the support pieces 32 arranged on the floor and the corners of the loom. The links 31 converge towards the point 33, which corresponds to the pivot point 10. In the case of small movements, the links 31 are equivalent to the rollers 13 and the surfaces 6, 7 assigned to them. The short links 31 are sufficient for stable mounting, so that the retaining springs 27 shown in FIG. 5 are not required.
In Fig. 8, flexible straps 34 are arranged between the floor-mounted support pieces 35 and the corners of the loom. The straps 34 are rigid in the longitudinal direction and soft or flexible in the transverse direction and therefore provide the same type of support as the handlebars 31.
In FIG. 13, split rollers 55 are rotatably mounted in sockets 56 at the corners of the loom 1. Split rollers 57 complementary to rollers 55 are rotatably mounted in pockets 58 in the floor. Flat surfaces 59, 60 of the rollers are in sliding contact with one another and support the loom in such a way that it can be pivoted about point 10. As a result, the line of action 12 of the sley passes through the center of oscillation. By pivoting the rollers in the mounts, the surfaces 59, 60 are kept in alignment. The roller 55 or 57 can be fixed.
In this case, the pivoting of the free rollers causes the surfaces 59, 60 to be held in alignment.
Instead of the roller 13 shown in FIGS. 1-4, the roller 13a according to FIG. 9 can be used. This has grooves 13b, 13c for ropes 14a and 15a. The ropes 14a correspond to the bands 14 and are fastened to the pins 16 and 17 at their opposite ends. The ropes 15a correspond to the bands 15 and are attached to the pins 20 and 21 with their ends opposite one another.
In this arrangement, the rollers 13a act directly on the surfaces 7 and 8, so that the rollers 13a do not crush the ropes.
FIGS. 10, 11 and 12 are schematic representations to explain the mode of operation. In Fig. 10, a force is exerted on a body 36 along a line 37 by a connecting rod 38, the drive element 39 of which is mounted in a support structure 40 arranged on the outside. The line of action of the force passes the center of gravity 41 of the body 36 at the top.
In FIG. 11, a crank 43, which is mounted in a body 44, drives a connecting rod 42 which moves an unbalanced mass 45 along guides 46 which are centered on a line of action 47. This goes past the center of gravity 48 of the body 44 at the top.
Fig. 12 can be viewed as a generalization of the arrangements described above. An oscillating force 49 acts along a line 50 which is arranged at a distance a from the center of gravity 51 of the body 52. The radius of gyration of the body 52 around the center of gravity 51 has the value r. If the body 52 were rigidly attached to a supporting structure, the unbalanced force 49 would lead to the generation of reaction forces.
In order to prevent these unwanted reaction forces on the Tragkon structure, the body 52, for example, by the arrangement described above, forced to rotate about the point 54, which is arranged at a distance b from the line of action 50 of the non-balanced force 49 . If the distance b equals
EMI0003.0064
is, the line of action 50 goes through the center of oscillation 55 of the body and the point 54 is the pivot point of the body 52.
With this arrangement, no tangential reaction forces are exerted on the supporting structure, although the angular momentum of the body 52 is changed by the effect of the force 49. If the force 49 comes from a point outside the body 52, as is the case in FIG. 10, the body 52 moves in phase with the force 49. If the force 49 comes from a point inside the body 52, such as As shown in FIGS. 1-9 and 11, the body 52 moves out of phase with the force 49.
In both cases, the unbalanced force 49 causes the body 52 to rotate about the pivot point 54.
The unbalanced force 49 can be a shock or vibration force.
The flexible straps 14, 15 and their equi-valent cables 14a, 15a form oppositely directed loops, which loop around the associated role and whose ends are anchored to the foot or the associated support piece.
In the loom 61 shown in FIGS. 14-19, the main cause of the vibrations is the sley 62 shown schematically, which is moved back and forth by a crank 63 at a frequency of 100-300 vibrations per minute.
An important source of vibrations is also the shuttle drive 64 shown schematically, which is operated alternately on opposite sides of the loom by a crank 65 which rotates at the same speed as the crank 63. The shuttle drive is lighter than the sley, but it is accelerates more strongly and generates considerable vibrations.
In order to avoid the destructive effect of these vibrations, the loom is supported by a structure which is shown schematically in FIGS. 14 and 15. In this construction, the inertia of the loom is effectively used to absorb the repercussions on the movements of the sley and shuttle drive, so that the vibrations are isolated. In FIG. 14, in the area of the four corners of the loom on the floor 68 of the housing, two support pieces 66 are arranged at the front and two support pieces 67 are arranged at the rear.
Flexible steel cables 69 are arranged between the support piece 66 and the front end of the loom and exert a tensile force along the dotted line 70 on the loom. Between the support pieces 67 and the rear end of the loom, flexible steel cables 71 are arranged, which exert a tensile force on the loom along the dotted line 72.
The ropes 69 and 71 carry the loom in such a way that it can be rotated about an axis which extends transversely to the loom through an instantaneous pivot point 73. Depending on the inertia conditions of the sley and the loom in the direction of the translational and rotational movement and the arrangement of the sley in the loom, the ropes can be at different angles
be arranged. The sley moving back and forth generates a forward and backward inertia force 75 at a distance a1 above the center of gravity 74 of the loom. If the force 75 goes exactly through the center of oscillation of the loom, it only causes the loom to pivot about the axis 73 and the force 75 is not transmitted to the floor.
As a result of the constant change in the weight of the loom during weaving, the line of action of the forces 75 generated by the sley cannot go exactly through the center of oscillation of the loom. However, useful results are obtained if the pivot point 73 is chosen so
that the line of action of the force 75 is on the side opposite the center of gravity, preferably in the vicinity of the center of oscillation.
FIG. 15 shows the loom according to FIG. 14 in a front view. The ropes 69 exert forces on the loom along the lines 70 which intersect at 76 and support the front end of the loom in such a way that it is rotatable or pivotable about an axis which extends transversely to the vibratory forces 77 which can be traced back to the shooter drive.
The point 76 is usually arranged at a different distance below the floor 68 than the point 73. If the vibration forces 77 generated by the shuttle drive go exactly through the center of vibration of the loom, no vibration forces generated by the shuttle drive are transmitted to the floor.
To completely isolate the oscillations of the sley, the distance b1 of the line of action 75 of the sley forces from the pivot point 73 should be equal
EMI0004.0082
be. Here, a1 is the distance of the line of action of the sley forces from the center of gravity 14 of the loom and r1 is the
Radius of inertia of the loom around its center of gravity.
To completely isolate the vibrations of the shooter drive, the distance b2 of the line of action 77 of the shooter drive forces from the pivot point 76 should be the same
EMI0004.0100
be. Here, a2 is the distance of the line of action of the shuttle drive forces from the center of gravity of the loom and r2 is the radius of gyration of the loom around its center of gravity.
Usually lines of action 75 and 77 of the sley and shuttle drive forces are above and pivot points 73 and 75 are below the center of gravity 74 of the loom. If the line of action of one of the mentioned forces is below the center of gravity of the loom,
the corresponding pivot point must be above the center of gravity of the loom. In this case, the cables 69 and 71 do not converge downwards as shown, but upwards.
The ropes 69 and 71 in FIG. 14 are particularly effective with regard to the forward and backward oscillations of the sley. However, they also allow the loom to move sideways and thus also contribute to isolating the sideways inertial forces generated by the shuttle drive.
The ropes 69 in FIG. 2 are arranged in such a way that they primarily serve to isolate the sentwärsssgericht- th vibrations of the contactor drive. However, they also allow the loom to move forwards and backwards and thus also help isolate the vibrations of the loom.
This means that the cables 69 and 71 do not have to have the composite orientation shown in FIGS. 14 and 15. A certain isolation of the vibrations of the shuttle drive is also obtained if the cables 69 arranged at the front end of the loom do not converge to the point 76 as shown in FIG. Preferably, however, those in,
orientations shown in Figs. 14 and 15 are applied. As a result of the flexibility of the suspension, however, a certain insulation is obtained even if the ropes 69 and 71 are suspended differently than shown.
The cables 69 and 71 are essentially inextensible in their longitudinal direction, but are freely flexible in every direction transverse to their longitudinal direction.
Since the ropes 69 and 71 provide a suspension, a high level of stability is achieved.
The elements 69, 71 preferably consist of metal wire ropes, because a seismic suspension is preferably characterized by high strength and low internal friction or internal damping. You can also replace the ropes with chains or handlebars.
In the case of the links, the joints should allow pivoting in the length and transverse direction of the loom, if vibrations of the sley and the shuttle drive are to be isolated.
16-19 show a holder for isolating the sley vibrations. On the floor are at the points indicated in Fig. 19 with 79 at the front end of the loom two support pieces 78 and at the points indicated in Fig. 19 with 81 at the rear end of the loom two support pieces 80 angeord net.
On each RTIID = "0004.0225" WI = "7" HE = "4" LX = "1407" LY = "1738"> silk of the loom, the front and rear support pieces are connected to one another by a rod or strut 82. This element defines the support pieces 78 and 80 relative to one another. In Fig. 19, the positions of the struts are denoted by 83.
Each strut, together with the supporting pieces associated with it, forms a structural unit that can be cemented to the floor of the building in the desired position.
The struts take on the static forces coming from the supporting pieces, which act in the longitudinal direction, so that the supporting pieces only transfer the weight of the loom to the floor of the building.
The front support pieces 78 are each provided with two wire ropes 84 which extend between an upper plate 85 and a lower plate 86. The top plate 85 is attached to the support piece 78. The lower plate 86 is arranged under one of the front feet 87 of the loom and is screwed to this foot.
The rear support pieces 80 are each provided with two wire cables 88 which extend between an upper plate 89 and a lower plate 90.
The top plate 89 is attached to the support rope 80. The lower plate 90 is arranged under one of the rear feet 91 of the loom and is screwed to this foot. The ropes 84 are more inclined than the ropes 88,
because the center of gravity 74 of the loom is closer to its front end. So that the loom is held in a horizontal position, each lower plate 90 rests on the rear end 92a of a support piece 92 which is used for stabilization and which has joint sockets 92b with which it is pivotably mounted on a pin 92c which is attached to the joint socket 92d is carried at the upper end of a handlebar 92e.
The support piece 92 is seen with an abutment 93 for a compression spring 94 ver. The lower end of the spring 94 is seated in a member 95 which is attached to the. Support piece 80 is attached. The link 92c slidably extends through the link 95. A nut 96 is held against the underside of the link 95 under the action of the weight of the loom. The position of the loom is adjusted in that, with the aid of the nut 96, the end of the support piece remote from the loom is raised and lowered.
In this way the loom is brought to the horizontal.
The ropes 84 and 88 lie in planes which extend in the longitudinal direction of the loom and converge in the longitudinal direction of the loom similar to the ropes 69 and 71 in FIG. 1.
The ropes 84 and 88 are primarily used to absorb the sley forces. However, due to their lateral flexibility, the ropes are to a certain extent also suitable for absorbing the shooter's drive forces. The ropes 84 and 88 can also, like the ropes 69 in FIG. 2, converge in the transverse direction of the web chair in order to additionally allow the shooting of the shooter drive forces.
Figs. 20-25 show embodiments of the invention using vibratory feeders and the like.
In the feeder shown in FIG. 20, a base plate 101 carries a trough 102 with the aid of stabilizing links 103 and return springs 104 emotional.
During the forward stroke, the trough 102 is moved upwards and to the right, so that the conveyed material is thrown up from the bottom of the trough. During the backward stroke, the trough is moved downwards and to the left, so that the material falling under the effect of gravity arrives at a different point on the bottom of the trough than at the beginning of the forward stroke. In the case of feeders and conveyors, this movement is used to move goods forward at controlled speeds.
In the case of sieves, this movement causes the material to be turned so that material of the desired grain size can spread through the sieve, while the larger grains are moved to the right and away from the right end of the sieve. The mass of the hollow and its contents is large. The oscillation frequency is often relatively low (300-500 oscillations per minute). At these low oscillation frequencies, strong vibratory forces are generated that cannot be properly isolated with the usual vibration isolation systems.
This problem also occurs with vibratory feeders, conveyors and sieves, which differ considerably in their construction and appearance from the arrangement shown schematically.
To isolate vibrations, the resilience of the food is used. In the preferred embodiment shown in FIG. 20, the base plate 101 is supported by a support structure 108, for example the floor of the building, with the aid of rollers 109, which surfaces between inclined surfaces 110 of the floor and complementary inclined surfaces 111 of the base plate 101 are arranged.
The surfaces 110, 111 are shown here as flat, mutually parallel allelic surfaces, but can also be nonpar allelic or curved. With the help of the rollers 109 and the surfaces 110, 111, the base plate 101 is supported in such a way that it is rotatable about the pivot point 112, which is located on one side of the focal point 113 of the device. When the feeder is arranged in this way, its center of oscillation 114 is on the opposite side of the center of gravity 113.
The pivot point 112 is selected so that the lines of action of the vibrating forces exerted by the trough on the base plate pass through the area of the center of oscillation 114. The direction of the shaking forces is indicated generally by the arrow, but changes as the trough moves back and forth. The shaking forces indicated by the arrow 115 tend to rotate the base plate 101 and the trough 102 carried by it about the axis 112. If the arrow 115 went exactly through the center of oscillation 114, no tangential reaction would be exerted on the floor.
Useful results are obtained when the line of action of the reaction forces goes through the area of the center of oscillation 114 or, in any case, lies on the side of the center of gravity 113 opposite the pivot point 112. In this arrangement, the reaction forces are consumed in that the entire device is pivoted about the pivot point 112. The undesired transmission of vibrations to the floor is eliminated or reduced.
Instead of the roles shown in FIG. 20, their kinematic equivalents can be used. This is illustrated schematically in FIGS. 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25, in which corresponding parts are denoted by the same reference numerals.
In Fig. 21, the base plate 101 is supported by connec tion members 117, which are arranged between the support pieces 116 and the base plate 101 attached to the Fussbo. The connecting links 117 can consist of rigid links which are pivotably mounted at 118, 119. You can also steal from flexible straps which are rigidly fastened at 118, 119 and bend when the device is pivoted about axis 112.
The trough is moved back and forth by a connecting rod 120 which is driven by a motor 121 arranged on the outside. When driving the connecting rod from the outside, the pivoting movement of the base plate 101 about the point 112 is in phase with the movement of the connecting rod. If the connecting rod, however, is driven from the inside, for example, is mounted on the base plate 101, there is a phase difference between the movement of the base plate 101 and the movement of the trough.
The device shown in Fig. 22 is supported by Len core 122 which is pivotally connected at points 123 to the base plate 101 and at the pivot point 112 to a support structure. Since the center of gravity 113 is above the pivot point 112, springs 124 are required between the links and the floor for static stabilization. As a result, the isolation of the vibration forces is only slightly affected. As in the arrangements described above, the line of action 115 of the shaking forces passes through the center of vibration 114 or through its area.
According to FIG. 23, flexible elastomeric layer bodies 125, 126, 127 are arranged between support pieces 128 which are fastened to the base plate 101 and support pieces 129 which are fastened to the floor. Under load, the elastomer body 127 experiences a shear deformation, so that the same pivoting about the pivot point 112 is obtained as in the arrangements described above.
Although the elastomer body effects a certain force transmission to the floor, this can be kept low.
24 and 25 schematically show other devices that are exposed to vibratory forces.
The device 138 shown in FIG. 25 is subjected to an oscillating force in the direction of the arrow 115 by the connecting rod 139 above the center of gravity of the device 113. The connecting rod 139 is driven by a motor 140 which is mounted on a supporting structure 141 on the outside.
In order to reduce the reaction on the shaking forces, the device 138 is mounted in such a way that it can be pivoted about an axis 112, which is located below the center of gravity 113. For the pivotable mounting of the device, rollers 142 are arranged between inclined surfaces 143, 144.
The axis 112 is selected so that the line of action 115 essentially passes through the center of vibration of the device and the vibrating forces do not produce any tangential reaction on the supporting structure 141.
The device 130 shown in Fig. 24 carries one. Motor 131 which moves a mass 133 back and forth via a connecting rod 132. The line of action 115 of the shaking forces is located above the center of gravity 113.
To reduce the reaction on the vibrating forces, the device is mounted on a support structure 134 so that the device can be pivoted about an axis 112 which is located below the center of gravity 113. Rollers 135, which are arranged between inclined surfaces 136, 137, serve to pivot the device. However, the roles can be replaced by any of the other arrangements or other kinematic equivalents.
The axis 112 is selected so that the line of action 115 essentially passes through the center of oscillation of the device. The shaking forces exerted by the mass 133 do not cause any tangential reaction of the support structure 134, but only cause the device to pivot about the axis 112.
Since vibrating feeders, conveyors and sieves have essentially the same mode of operation, these and similar devices are grouped together under the designation vibrating feeders and the like.
The formula according to which the threatening point 112 is arranged in such a way that the line of action 115 of the shaking forces exerted by the trough passes through the center of oscillation point 114 is

Here, a is the distance of the line of action of the vibrating forces from the center of gravity 113 of the feeder and the radius of inertia of the feeder around its center of gravity 113.
The symbols a, b and r are in Figs. 12 and 20 and with indices in the. Fiig. 14 and 15 explained.
The inertial force of the rest of the loom thus counteracts the inertial forces of the sley and shuttle drive described. The movements of the sley and the shuttle drive can be out of phase with one another.
Theoretically, the inertial forces of the sley and the shuttle drive can be isolated 100 percent if such an arrangement is fully utilized.
In a preferred embodiment, the loom is suspended with flexible ropes and the axes are chosen so that the forces of the sley and shuttle drive point at the oscillation means or are effective in the vicinity of the same. In this way, a seismic suspension is obtained which, ideally, has no damping and no elasticity.
In operation, there is a shift in weight or mass when the warp threads are transferred into the finished fabric that is periodically removed from the loom. However, this shift does not have a strong effect on the isolation of vibrations.
Due to the low frequency of the sley and shuttle drive oscillations (2-5 Hz), an elastic suspension is inexpedient. Energy-absorbing, generating or friction-damping arrangements for braking the movement of the loom transmit the braking forces to the building.
The seismic suspension, on the other hand, theoretically leads to 100% isolation. In practice, an isolation of 70-90% was achieved in this way on a Draper loom, model X-3, the sley operating at 218 oscillations per minute. The actual loom weighed 1560 kg and had a harness of 54 kg, a kea tree with an empty weight of 112 kg and a full weight of 353 kg and a roll of goods weighing 0-54 kg.
The highest total weight was 1971 kg when the warp beam was full and the goods beam was empty. The lowest total weight was 1779 kg when the warp beam was empty and the goods beam was full. The shift in the center of gravity of the loom between the state of the highest weight and the state of the lowest weight was about 15 cm towards the front of the loom.
