Es wäre dagegen weitaus schwieriger, den Balg 2 aus dem jeweilig günstigsten Material anzufertigen. Bei der Ausbildung des Rohres nach Fig. 3 ist die von einer Ringfeder 3 zu hintergrei- fende Schulter Teil einer Rille 16. Bei der Ausbildung des Rohres nach Fig. 5 ist die Schulter 12 Teil eines Ringwulstes 17;
Pipe connection The invention concerns a pipe connection, consisting of a pipe coupling and two interconnected pipes, the pipe coupling having a sleeve surrounding the parting line of the two pipes and a pneumatically or hydraulically expandable bellows lying between the pipe jacket and the sleeve with the bellows on both sides lying and resilient rings that can be displaced by this,
wherein the sleeve ends are provided with inner walls inclined to the axis for displacing and resting the rings on the pipe walls by means of the bellows.
With the pipe coupling of this known Rohrver connection steel pipes can be sealingly connected to one another. One axial. Fixing of the two pipes is achieved by the bellows pressed against the outer surface of the pipes and the ring springs, since the high load-bearing capacity of the steel pipes and their relatively rough outer surface result in a high contact pressure of the coupling and thus a firm,
Non-skid fit of the ring springs and the bellows. on the pipes. However, this known pipe coupling cannot easily be used to connect two glass pipes with a smooth surface, since the radial contact pressure must not be as great as with steel pipes. In addition, there is the requirement that the pipe connection must also be suitable for the passage of aggressive media.
The aim is thus to create a pipe connection, when using both a perfect sealing and a perfect axial fixation of the interconnected tubes is made light. The pipe connection according to the invention is characterized in that the edge parts of the pipes made of glass are provided with ring shoulders, each of which is gripped from behind by a ring displaced by the bellows, and that a sleeve made of chemically resistant plastic between the neighboring end faces of the two pipes is used.
By attaching shoulders to the glass tubes, the rings displaced by the bellows can be displaced radially inward on the inclined inner walls of the sleeve and engage behind these shoulders. The axial fixation of the two interconnected glass tubes is done in addition to the friction resistance of the bellows resting against the tube shells by the rings that grip the shoulder. The bellows pressure can therefore be chosen to be lower.
Although there are already numerous pipe connections known in which the pipe ends should aufwei sen that are engaged from behind by parts of the pipe coupling. The pipe couplings used in this case, however, do not have the advantageous structure mentioned at the beginning and the mostly gununielastic elements for engaging behind the shoulders. By reaching behind them, they are permanently deformed in such a way that they cannot be used again after opening the clutch. These gummiela elastic elements can not be used to press the two tubes against one another in a sealing manner, even when they are in contact with the shoulders.
In the case of the subject matter of the invention, the latter can be effected in a simple manner in that the shoulders have inclined surfaces along which the rings can slide.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention is shown with differently designed shoulders. The figures show: FIG. 1 the pipe connection in longitudinal section in the non-clamping position, FIG. 2 the pipe connection in the clamping position, FIG. 3-6 several exemplary embodiments of the pipe shoulders.
The pipe coupling has a sleeve 1, an inner, expandable bellows 2, two annular springs 3 lying on both sides of the bellows 2, and a connecting piece 4 with a valve 5 for a gaseous or liquid medium. the bellows 2 consists of an elastically deformable, rubber-like material and is provided with an annular bead 6 over its entire inner circumference.
The two ends of the sleeve 1 have inner walls 7, which are inclined to the longitudinal axis. The ring springs 3 are designed as screw compression springs. If there is no pressure medium inside the bellows 2, i.e. in the non-clamping position, the annular springs 3 are widened and lie against radially outer parts of the sleeve 2 (FIG. 1). The two glass tubes 8 and 9 to be connected have end faces 10 and 11 on.
Each tube has a shoulder 12 between a smaller and a larger diameter.
The shoulder surface is inclined in such a way that the radially outer part is closer to the adjacent end face than the radially inner part, as indicated by the line 13 in FIG. 4.
Between the pipe coupling and the two glass tubes 8 and 9 is a cross-sectionally U-shaped sleeve 14. The sleeve has abge angled ends 15 and consists of a chemically resistant plastic, such as Teflon (registered trademark). The legs of the U-profile of the sleeve 14 lie against the end faces 10 and 11 of the tubes 8 and 9, while the two legs end 15 of the sleeve 14 are located between the tube shell and the bellows 2.
A web 6 of the bellows 2 protruding radially inwards extends into the sleeve 14.
If a gas or, preferably, a liquid is pressed into the bellows through the inlet connector 4 to close the coupling, the bellows expands and comes into contact with the outer surface of the tubes 8 and 9 in a sealing manner. From the bellows 2, the kelenden's 15 of the cuff 14 are sealingly pressed against the one central surface of the tubes 8 and 9. The bellows 2 also pushes the two ring springs 3 radially inwards along the inclined inner walls 7 and engages behind the shoulders 12.
Due to the mutually oppositely directed inclination of the shoulders 12 of the two tubes 8 and 9, these are pressed against one another by means of the annular springs 3 with their end faces 10 and 11. There is thus a perfect seal of the parting line by the legs of the man cuff 14 and the annular bead 6 lying between the end faces 10 and 11. Both tubes 8 and 9 are axially fixed by the two annular springs 3 and can also move against the pipe coupling in the event of vibrations don't move. Since in the glass tubes 8 and 9 z.
B. aggressive substances are often passed in the chemical industry, the sleeve 14 separated from the bellows 2 was provided. It is therefore possible in a simple manner for each aggressive substance to be conveyed to use a sleeve 14 made of material which is very specifically tailored to this substance to be conveyed.
On the other hand, it would be much more difficult to manufacture the bellows 2 from the cheapest material in each case. In the design of the tube according to FIG. 3, the shoulder to be gripped behind by an annular spring 3 is part of a groove 16. In the design of the tube according to FIG. 5, the shoulder 12 is part of an annular bead 17;
in the formation of the pipe Fig. 6, the shoulder 12 is part of a sleeve 18 which rests on the pipe wall.
