- Beispiel 1

Process for the production of optical brighteners of the stilbene series It has been found that valuable optical brighteners of the room series are obtained if 1 mol of a compound of the formula T,
EMI0001.0009
in which hal is halogen, preferably chlorine, with 2 moles of an optionally substituted primary or secondary amine of the formula II,
EMI0001.0017
or ammonia converts to a compound of the formula III,
EMI0001.0021
in which X is the amino group or a substituted amino group of the formula,
EMI0002.0005
where in this substituted amino group and in the formula II R,
Is hydrogen or a lower, optionally substituted alkyl group and R2 is a lower optionally substituted alkyl group or an aryl radical substituted by acidic salt-forming groups, or R1 and R.2 together with the nitrogen form a ring.
If R1 or R2 is a lower alkyl group, it advantageously has 1 to 4 carbon atoms.
If this alkyl group is substituted, the substituents used, especially in brighteners, are non-coloring substituents, namely the hydroxyl group, alkoxy groups with advantageously 1 to 4 carbon atoms, the sulfonic acid, carboxylic acid, sulfonic acid amide,
Carboxamide group or aromatic groups, especially the phenyl group, are suitable. If R2 represents an aryl radical substituted by an acidic salt-forming group, then the acidic salt-forming groups are primarily the sulfonic acid group, but also the carboxylic acid group or a disulfimide group.
In addition, the aryl group can be further substituted by non-coloring substituents customary in optical brighteners, such as lower alkyl or alkoxy groups or halogen. If R1 and R2 form a ring together with the nitrogen, this is, for example, a five-membered ring, such as the pyrrolidine ring, or one.
Six ring, such as the piperidine, morpholine or 2,6-dimethylmorpholine ring. The compounds of the formula I are prepared by reacting 2 mol of 2,4,6-trihalogen-1,3,5-triazine in any order with 1 mol of 4,4'-diamino-stilbene-2,2'- disulfonic acid, or
of a soluble salt thereof and 2 moles of 2,6-dimethylmorpholine. If the reaction of 4,4'-diamino-stilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid, or a soluble salt thereof, with the triazine compound takes place in the first stage, it is preferably at 0 to 10 ° C., if it takes place in the second stage, then it is preferably condensed at 0 to 60 C.
The further reaction of the compounds of formula I is preferably carried out at 60 to 95 ° C. It is advantageous to work in aqueous or aqueous-organic solution, the organic portion of the solution never consisting of their aliphatic ketones, such as acetone or methyl ethyl ketone, or water-soluble cyclic ethers, such as dioxane, and in the presence of an acid-binding agent, such as alkali carbonates,
ud alkali bicarbonates or alkali hydroxides. When reacting a non-aromatic amine of the formula HI, it is expedient to use an excess of it; the excess serves as an acid-binding agent.
If the reaction is carried out with a compound of the formula III in which R2 is an aryl group substituted by acidic, salt-forming groups, it is advantageous to work in the acidic pH range, for example at a pH of 2 to 5.
Particularly favorable compounds of the formula HI are obtained by reacting a compound of the formula I with 2 moles of an aminobenzenesulfonic acid which may be substituted by chlorine, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy groups.
The novel stilbene compounds of the formula III according to the invention are conveniently isolated from the reaction mixture as alkali metal salts.
The new brighteners of the stilbene series are suitable for the optical brightening of cellulose and polyamide material from aqueous solution.
As cellulose material, natural, such as cotton, hemp, jute or ramie, as regenerated material, such as rayon, cellulose or paper, as well as natural polyamide material, such as wool or silk, or synthetic, such as nylon, perlon, can be considered.
The content of whitener of the formula II in aqueous textile treatment liquors is advantageously 0.01 to 1.0%,
based on the weight of the material to be lightened. The cellulose material treated with an aqueous solution containing such a brightener is given a pleasing, pure, white, blue-violet fluorescent appearance.
Particularly advantageous properties of stilbene compounds according to the invention are, depending on the composition, their high substantivity, their good resistance to acids, e.g. B. acetic acid, and against in the textile finishing or paper production common salts such as magnesium chloride, zinc chloride, zinc nitrate, zinc boron tetrafluoride or aluminum sulfate.
This applies in particular to those brighteners of the formula III in which X is an organic amino group containing sulfo groups. Thanks to these properties, the new brighteners of the formula HI can be used in baths which contain precondensates suitable for the synthetic resin finishing of cellulose materials, for example water-soluble methylol derivatives of urea or other organic nitrogen compounds,
as well as catalysts required for polycondensation of such precondensates, such as zinc chloride or magnesium chloride. As a result of their good compatibility with acidic salts, e.g. B. aluminum sulfate, the new stilbene compounds are also suitable for lightening sized paper in the paper pulp.
This property is particularly advantageous where so-called backwater, which contains a relatively high percentage of acidic aluminum salt, is used for paper production.
A further advantageous property of brighteners according to the invention is that they do not impart any undesired green discolouration to the material brightened with them, even at high dosages.
The following examples illustrate the invention. The temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. Unless otherwise stated, parts mean parts by weight. Parts by weight are related to parts by volume like g to ml. - Example 1
EMI0003.0001
75 parts of 2,4,6-trichloro-1,3,5-triazine are dissolved in 700 parts by volume of acetone.
The solution is poured into 1800 parts of an ice / water mixture with stirring. A solution of 82.8 parts of 4,4'-diaminostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid sodium and 21.5 parts of sodium carbonate in 950 parts of water is added at 0-5 within one hour to the suspension of said triazine thus obtained allowed to flow.
To the resulting yellowish suspension of the disodium salt of 4,4'-bis [4 ", 6" -dichlor-1 ", 3", 5 "-triazinyl- (2") -amino] -stilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid a solution of 69.2 parts of 4-sulfophenylamine and 16 parts of sodium hydroxide in 400 parts by volume of water is added at 5 to 25 within 30 minutes and the acid released is neutralized by the simultaneous addition of an aqueous solution of 22 parts of sodium carbonate.
The reaction mixture is then stirred further at 30 to 40 until the 4-sulfophenylamine has completely disappeared.
At 50 to 60, 120 parts of 2,6-dimethyhnor- pholine are introduced into the mixture obtained within 15 minutes. The temperature of the reaction mixture is then increased to 90 and the acetone is distilled off on the descending condenser. The resulting solution is then stirred for one hour at 90 to 100 and the pH of the solution is kept at 8.5 to 9 by adding sodium hydroxide.
The solution is then mixed with 25% (based on the volume of the solution) sodium chloride at 70 and stirred for a further hour at this temperature. This separates: the disodium salt of the compound of the above formula.
After cooling, this is filtered off, washed with cold 20% sodium chloride solution and dried at 80 '.
A water-soluble, yellowish powder is obtained, the diluted solution of which has a bluish fluorescence in daylight. The preparation obtained can be used in the usual way for the optical brightening of cellulose and polyamide fibers.
If one of the arylamines mentioned below is used instead of 4-sulfophenylamine and the rest of the procedure is as indicated in the example, optical brighteners with similar properties are obtained.
