Description

Method for packaging a perishable foodstuff and device for carrying out said method
The present invention relates to a method for packaging a perishable foodstuff and a device for implementing this method.

The method is characterized by the fact that one encloses said food in a hermetic packaging formed of a sheet of plasticized cardboard and a cover of transparent rigid plastic material, hot-welds said cover on the sheet of cardboard and proceeds to the sealing. freezing or deep freezing the packaging thus produced.

The device is characterized by the fact that it comprises an airtight package enclosing a perishable foodstuff, consisting of a sheet of plasticized cardboard on which is welded a transparent rigid plastic cover.

Devices of the aforementioned type are known, for example for the presentation and distribution of samples of products such as toothpaste, laundry products, etc. However, the packaging is not, or does not have to be airtight, the product thus presented being itself contained in a tube, sachet or the like.

The present invention stems from the discovery on the one hand of the fact that such devices can be perfectly airtight, to the point of being suitable for the preservation of frozen or deep-frozen perishable foodstuffs, and on the other hand of the fact that the operation of freezing or deep-freezing carried out under certain conditions does not cause condensation or icing effects, so that the products thus packaged are perfectly visible through the transparent lid of the packaging, which makes them particularly attractive and avoids have to provide the packaging with a label representing the packaged product.

The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of snails packaged according to the invention, and
fig. 2 is a sectional view of the device for conditioning the snails of FIG. 1, without these, along line II-II of FIG. 1, on a larger scale.

The snails shown, designated by 1, numbering a dozen, are enclosed in an airtight package formed of a sheet of cardboard 2, plasticized, and a cover 3, of rigid transparent plastic, for example the known material. commercially under the name a P. v. vs. . This cover has the shape of a shell, the edge of the side wall, designated by 3a, is folded at right angles, so as to form a rim 3b glued hot on the cardboard sheet 2 (FIG. 2).

The whole thus forms an airtight package which is treated, with its contents, by deep freezing.

The side wall 3a of the cover 3 has re-entrant parts 4 while its upper face has re-entrant parts 5. The assembly thus forms cells keeping the snails 1 at a distance from each other.

The front part of the box 2, designated by 2a, extending beyond the cover, will be used for affixing a mark or any other indication, stylized at 6 in FIG. 1.

The instructions for use of the product will preferably be printed on the back of the cardboard sheet 2.

The shape of the packaging allowing the implementation of the present method may vary ad infinitum.

In addition, the perishable foodstuffs to be packaged can be placed in a container, such as a container or the like, for example made of aluminum, which will be enclosed in the packaging at the same time as the perishable foodstuff and frozen with it. This receptacle can be used as a dish for cooking the product when it is used, or for reheating it, when the packaged product consists of a dish already cooked. When the packaged product is in the form of separate units, as is the case with the snails described above, for example, they can be placed in small individual tubs or cups.
