Water atomizer The main patent relates to a water atomizer for increasing the humidity in living and office spaces with a water container and a centrifugal wheel driven by an electric motor arranged above the water container to lift the water to be atomized out of the container and to throw it against an atomizer grille, which is characterized by this that the motor is connected to an impeller which is used for motor cooling, air from top to bottom via the motor and sits in a housing with a simple bottom with an opening in the middle but double walls,
The cavity formed by the double wall is arranged above the atomizer grille, opens inwards towards the engine at the top and is provided with individual air intake openings on its underside, to which air pipes penetrating the water tank are connected, so that the impeller only uses unhumidified room air for engine cooling can suck in and this air leaves the motor housing towards the blower wheel, so that no water can penetrate into the motor housing from the blower wheel.
The present invention now relates to a further embodiment of this invention, which is characterized in that the housing is partially surrounded by a second housing, which is formed on the one hand by the water container and on the other hand by a dome with a central opening and openings for the entry of air in the water tank as well as a partition wall with a central opening arranged above these air inlet openings and extending below the atomization grille, which divides the space formed on the one hand by the motor housing and on the other hand by the second housing in such a way that
that the room air flows in through these openings, reaches the atomizer grille through the central opening of the partition and from there can return to the room with the atomized water through the central opening of the dome.
Because water atomizers are usually not set up in the middle of a room, but at the edge, i.e. close to the wall, the air in a room can be humidified more evenly with the improved atomizer than with an atomizer that only shapes the water-saturated air upwards blows out a column.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawing. In the drawing, the single figure shows a vertical section through an atomizer according to the invention.
The water tank designated as a whole with 1 has three feet 2 on its underside, of which only two are visible in the drawing, so that the air can also reach the lower mouths 3a of three air intake pipes 3, of which only one is shown in the drawing is visible, which, unlike the other two, has a round cross-section only in the uppermost section, but an oval cross-section at the bottom, while the other two tubes have a continuously round cross-section, which corresponds approximately to the cross-section in the upper part of the air intake pipe visible in the drawing.
The water container 1 has a horizontal edge 5 provided with holes 4, to which an approximately cylindrical or conical tire 6 is connected, the lower part of which forms an annular air intake connection 9 together with the vertical wall 8 adjacent to the base 7.
A dome 10 with a central opening 10a is seated on the water tank 1. In this central opening a freely rotatable, frustoconical jacket 11 is inserted, which is designed such that the surface line designated by 11a in the drawing runs approximately vertically and the opening 11b is inclined approximately 25 to the horizontal.
The height of the water level in the container 1 can be kept sliding from the outside from the position of the ü <a guide 16 arranged in the dome 10.

NEN float rod 14, at the lower end of which a float 15 is attached.
On the water tank 1 sits the housing surrounding the motor 17, denoted as a whole by 18, which is formed by a simple bottom 19 and a double wall 20/21. At its lower end, the wall 10 has thickened points or beads 20b on the inside, which snap into a corresponding groove 19d of the rib 19c. In contrast to this, the wall 21 has a number of columns 31 which are screwed to the base 19.
The bottom 19 has three pipe sockets 22, only one of which is visible in the figure and which are each placed on one of the three pipes 3. On the underside of the base 19 a ring of rods or pegs is arranged, which forms an atomizer grid 23 against which the centrifugal wheel 24 throws the water during operation. This centrifugal wheel is seated at the lower end of a motor shaft 25 which extends through a central opening 19a in the base 19. The motor 17 itself is fastened to an intermediate floor 26 which in turn is fastened to the floor 19 via vibration-damping means 27.
The shaft 25 is passed through the motor 17 and carries on its second free end an impeller 28 which sucks air from the cavity 29 between the two walls 20 and 21 through the opening 20a and this from top to bottom via the motor 17 and blows from there through the central opening 19a under the housing base 19. From the outside, new air enters the cavity 29 through the tubes 3, the nozzles 22 seated on them and the air intake openings 19b adjoining the nozzles.
As is known per se, the centrifugal wheel 24 has a centrifugal plate 24a, which is provided here at the top and bottom with wings 24b or 24c and to which a suction pipe 24d immersed in water 30 connects at the bottom.
A partition 32 with a central opening 32a is arranged below the centrifugal plate 24a, but above the uppermost water level limit, that is to say at the level of the edge 5. It has three circular incisions on its edge, with which it engages around three quarters of the intake pipes 3, whereby it rests on each of these pipes on a shoulder. A connector 22 of the base 19 sits on each of these three edges.
The inner and lower edge of the conical end wall 33 stands on the edge of the so-to-speak horizontal partition wall 32, the outer and upper edge of which rests against the dome 10. The end wall 33 is rigidly connected to the floor 19 by several webs 34.
The functioning of the water atomizer is evident from the above description: The rotating centrifugal wheel 24 draws water out of the container 1 and hurls it on the centrifugal plate 24a against the atomizer grille 23, where it is atomized.
At the same time, fresh air is sucked in by the impeller 28, which flows through the intake pipes 3, the air suction openings 19b, the hollow or intermediate space 29 and the opening 20a to the impeller 28 and from there via the motor 17, cools it, heats it up and increases it leaves the housing surrounding the motor 17 through the opening 19a and gets into the suction area of the Schleiderrades 24, where it goes out with the water rising from below,
is promoted against the atomizer grid 23 and mixed there with the atomized water. Because of the blades 24c attached to its underside, the centrifugal wheel 24 also conveys air from the water tank 1, which air can enter through the annular connector 9 and the openings 4.
The conveyed air mixed with the atomized water is deflected upwards at the conical end wall 33 and passes from the annular opening 10a into the funnel-shaped truncated cone jacket 11, which it leaves through the opening 11b, which can be adjusted so that the air against the Is blown in the middle of the room, the air of which is to be humidified. Tests have shown that in the air leaving the device, despite the high output, no visible water drops, so to speak, but only a water mist can be detected.
This is apparently due to the fact that water droplets, which neither hit the wall 33 nor the dome 10, but emerge with the air jet from the annular opening 10a, are blown against the wall of the funnel 11 and then pushed forward to the opening 11b from there, however, do not get into the room, but along the edge to their. reach the lowest point and drop there and thus get back into the water tank 1.
