Description

Adjusting rail for pieces of furniture The present invention is a generally U-shaped adjusting rail for furniture, shelves, etc. with notches for at least one associated releasable support.

The previously known adjusting rails have to be attached to the piece of furniture by means of fastening screws, screw nails or nails and usually have an unsightly appearance due to the many adjusting slots or holes punched on their top or otherwise attached and the screw and nail heads also visible.

The present invention now aims to provide an adjusting rail which has a smooth, beautiful, only provided with a through groove opening visible surface, in which both the unsightly, spaced, visible adjusting slots or holes, etc. and the fastening screws or nails along with the often difficult work of marking, pre-drilling, etc. are no longer necessary.

The adjusting rail according to the invention is characterized in that its legs have inwardly directed guide edges and inwardly protruding supports.

In the drawing, an example Ausfüh approximate form of the subject invention is shown, namely shows: Fig. 1 is a diagrammatic representation of the adjusting rail supported with a support used in the normal support position.

2 shows a cross-section on an enlarged scale through an adjusting rail which is firmly seated in the piece of furniture with an inserted support piece in the normal support position.

1 shows: the essentially U-shaped adjusting rail 1 with its two inwardly directed guide edges 2, 2a, the inwardly projecting lateral support latches 3, the sawtooth-shaped elevations 4, which are continuous in the longitudinal direction of the adjusting rail on the outside of the legs, 4a, the outwardly directed support edges 5, 5a, the support bracket 6 used in the normal position with the notch support head 7 and its neck 8 and the support nose 9 at the other end of the leg.

In Fig. 2 can be seen: the profile shape of the standing rail 1, the engaging in the neck 8 guide edges 2, 2a, the notch support head 7, the two-sided support notches 3, the support 6, the lateral sawtooth-shaped elevations 4, 4a, which hold in the groove 10 milled into the piece of furniture with the effect of the barb after it has been pressed into this groove, as well as the support and groove covering edges 5, 5a.

If the support 6 is removed from its normal support position shown in dashed lines in the drawing or brought into a higher or lower normal support position, a small lift from the bearing latches 3 with a subsequent rotation of about 90 to the neck 8 from the engagement of the leading edges is sufficient 2 and 2a to get free to bring the support bracket 6 again in the same position in the longitudinal groove over one of the now desired support latches and make the previous rotation of the latch pad head 7 now backwards.

The notch support head 7 on one leg of the support 6 then rests on the selected support notches 3, and the support guide nose 9 located on the other leg holds the support 6 again exactly as shown in dashed lines, i.e. in the normal support position.

From the structure described it follows that the illustrated adjusting rail can be produced as an endless profile strand and that the same is only attached by simply pressing it into the groove already worked into the piece of furniture.

Thanks to the grooves that are precisely worked into the piece of furniture or shelves, etc. prior to assembly, in addition to a correct position in relation to the parallel adjustment rail or groove, an exact and attractive assembly of the adjustment rail is achieved.
