Support of structures to protect the same against vibrations of their foundations The present invention relates to a support from structures such. B. Buildings to protect the same against vibrations of their foundations, z. B. by earthquakes or near explosions.
Suggestions made so far have been to ensure that a) the buildings or Parts of the building can withstand such vibrations without total destruction or serious damage; b) the buildings to be protected are not excited by vibration waves from the subsurface in the vicinity of their natural frequency; c) the vibration amplitudes are not significantly increased by unsuitable foundations or by the possibility of lifting; d) the buildings are separated from the shaken subsurface by structural measures; e) a cushioning intermediate layer is inserted between the subsurface and the rising building.
The present invention is based on a further development of the proposals mentioned above under d) and e). The support according to the invention is characterized in that the foundation and the superstructure supported on it are interlocked by interlocking jumps and gaps, but between the parts mentioned a continuous space is provided in which the superstructure horizontally and vertically supporting damping Intermediate layers are accommodated.
This new support differs from all previous proposals in that it allows both vertical and horizontal movements at the same time. The amplitudes, frequencies and velocities observed so far in earthquakes can be taken into account in all directions of the room and after subsurface vibrations have subsided, the original relative position of the superstructure and foundation is automatically restored. As a result of the measures taken in this way, the building itself only has to follow the movement of the subsoil to a very lesser extent and with a long delay. In the event of a disaster, e.g.
B. at earth lifting, all Re relative movements of the structure against the underground are possible up to the maximum predictable amplitude in any direction of the room without hindrance, so that the superstructure remains at rest due to the inertia forces.
It is expedient to design such that each individual support point can be readjusted and replaced easily and with little effort in terms of work and material.
In the accompanying drawings, an example embodiment of the invention is shown partially and schematically, namely: Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section through the adjoining parts of a foundation and a supporting wall and Fig. 2 is an associated cross section along the line 11-II of the Fig. 1.
In the drawing, B indicates the foundation. On the same rests the supporting wall A z. B. a Ge building. A continuous gap or slot D is provided between the foundation B and the supporting wall A. As can be seen from Fig. 1, the supporting wall and foundation are interlocked by mutually directed projections or teeth, but so that a certain distance is maintained between the two building parts A and B, respectively. In this way, the building is removed from the subsoil, e.g. B. is shaken in the event of an earthquake, ge separates, the construction described allows both vertical and horizontal movements at the same time.
Horizontal forces are len in all normal cases, i.e. H. if these forces z. B. generated by wind, the teeth or fingers of the foundation B transferred by side pressure body F of the teeth or fingers of the support wall A on the opposite. In the event of a disaster, d. H. in the event of horizontal earthquake movements of the subsoil and the foundations firmly connected to it, these lateral pressure bodies are overloaded, collapse and release the relative movement of the foundations in relation to the rising building structure.
As the material for this side pressure body, specially prepared mixtures of various types, as well as some of the rigid foam type materials available on the market today, can be used.
The superstructure transfers its loads through the mentioned teeth or fingers to elastic damping bodies E. The material of these damping bodies is selected in such a way that the impacts observed so far in earthquakes of the order of magnitude 7, 8, 9, 10 MM in terms of size and direction of movement can absorb without directly transferring them to the rising component A. The damping body E should therefore be able to be deformed (compress, shift) by the amount of vibration when the building is at rest, without giving off rapidly and strongly growing reaction forces on the building.
The material of the damping body E is neither destroyed nor significantly plastically deformed by the resulting deformations and stresses. It has sufficient resetting force to automatically restore the original positional relationship between foundation B and structure A after the vibration has subsided. Precautions have been taken to ensure that the damping elements cannot be shifted or ejected from their position relative to the substructure in the event of an earthquake shock (e.g.
by means of cam plates glued to them or the like) and that the restoring forces developed in them during horizontal displacements are transferred from the foundation to the superstructure.
The damping body E can consist of specially treated natural rubber mixtures or analogous mate rials.
As can be seen from the drawing, the ela-elastic damping body E lie on bars C, which in turn transfer the load to the foundation B via removable intermediate layers H. The beams C can for example consist of reinforced concrete.
Hydraulic presses can be pushed under the beams C in order to raise the former, which makes it possible to replace damping bodies E which may have been damaged in the event of a disaster or which have become less effective due to aging. For this purpose, the bar C is slightly raised ben using the presses G and then intermediate layers H, z. B. steel or wood, pulled out and the bar C lowers again abge. The thus relieved and expanded damping body E can now be removed and replaced. By lifting the beam, the damping body is exposed to the load from building A.
During the replacement or re-tensioning maneuver, the superstructure can be supported on the foundation B by suitable intermediate layers in the slot D. The described support requires supporting walls in two mutually perpendicular directions, as will be the case in the great majority of all high-rise buildings (normal case). If supporting walls only exist in one direction, the fingers must be trained accordingly.
