Double plate for watch movement anchor escapement One of the functions of the watch escapement is to transmit to the balance the energy required to maintain its oscillations. The lever escapement generally comprises a fork, a double plate carrying an ankle. This double plate is formed by a large plate supporting the ankle and a small plate having a notch allowing the stinger to pass through which ensures the correct functioning of the escapement. These two plates generally come from the same block of metal, steel or brass and connected by a cylindrical part or barrel.
The proper functioning of an escapement requires perfect symmetry of its two partial functions with respect to neutral, which requires retouching the angular position of the plate or that of the balance spring on its shaft. This second retouching is delicate because it risks deforming the hairspring while the first is difficult if the plate does not have means facilitating its manual rotation drive.
In addition, the ankle creates a fault in the balance of the plate which disturbs the isochronism of the oscillator.
The present invention relates to a double plate for a watch movement lever escapement comprising a small plate having a clearance for the passage of the dart and a large plate carrying the control and impulse pin. It is characterized by the fact that the large plate is provided with a notch made at a point on the periphery of said plate diametrically opposite the pin to allow a tool to grip the plate in order to move it angularly on the pin. balance axis and that said periphery has a discontinuity in the vicinity of the pin intended on the one hand to compensate for the lack of balance created by the pin, the notch and the release of the small plate.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the present invention.
The fi-. 1 is a perspective view thereof, and FIG. 2, a vertical sectional view.
Fig. 1 shows a double plate formed of a large plate 1 and a small plate 2 joined by a barrel 3. A bore 4 is intended for the passage of the balance shaft, not shown. The large plate supports the pin 5 and the small plate has a notch 6 intended to allow the end of the stinger of the fork not shown to pass.
In order to allow manual drive in rotation of the double plate, after it has been driven out on the balance shaft, a notch 7 is provided at the periphery of the large plate to give grip to the tweezers or to a tool by means of which the watchmaker modifies its angular position.
The plate pin, the clearance made in the small plate and the notch intended for the rotation of the double plate, create a lack of balance that is corrected by practicing a plate 8 cutting the periphery of the large plate near the ankle in a location opposite to the notch 7 so that the center of gravity of the assembly is brought back to the axis of rotation. This flat opposite to the notch 7, replaces the opposite notch generally necessary to ensure the grip of the tool used for the angular displacement of the plate.
In another variant, not shown, this correction is made by adding material to the periphery of one of the plates. These machining operations can be carried out by various known means, for example by mechanical means or by electrochemical attack.
This double plate offers the watchmaker the possibility of easily retouching the marking of the escapement.
