Working cylinder with a reciprocating piston The invention relates to a working cylinder with a reciprocating piston, the piston rod of which is passed axially through an end cover of the cylinder.
If tools are attached to the piston rods of such working cylinders with a usually circular cross-section, which rods are moved by these piston rods during their reciprocating stroke, it can happen that the piston and with it the piston rod rotates, so that the tool changes its position with respect to the workpiece ver. In order to prevent unwanted rotation of the piston rod, it has already been proposed to connect an auxiliary rod to the piston rod, which is attached to the outside of the cylinder and is guided back and forth like a piston rod.
Furthermore, Einrich lines for preventing rotation of the piston rod are known, in which on the piston rod abge facing side of the piston an extension rod is provided, the end of which is guided out of the working cylinder in a sliding block-like guide back and forth. However, all of these known arrangements take up an extremely large amount of space either in the longitudinal direction of the cylinder or in width. Their complicated structure also makes them expensive to manufacture.
The invention has the task of creating a working cylinder of the type in question here, in which the piston rod with the piston is safely guided in the axial direction with the piston ensuring a good seal of the cylinder interior, but is secured against rotation.
According to the invention, the piston rod has the shape of a polygon in cross section and is slidably guided in a guide bushing coaxial with the working cylinder, whose bore has a cross-sectional shape adapted to the piston rod circumference in the shape of the same polygon. When using the new Arbeitszylin the protection of the piston rod against rotation is provided directly on the working cylinder without even a slight change in the outer dimensions of the cylinder or the use of additional space is required. The set-up only requires extremely little effort and the structure is simple.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the Ge subject of the invention is shown. 1 shows a longitudinal section of a piston rod with a guide and FIG. 2 shows a section along the line I1-11 in FIG. 1. The piston rod 2 is passed axially through the cover 3 of the cylinder indicated by 4. In order to secure against rotation of the piston rod axially movable to and fro according to the arrows 5, it has the shape of a polygon in cross section, as can be seen in particular from FIG. This is the shape of a triangle, the tips 6a, 6b, 6c of which are rounded and the sides 7a, 7b, 7c are slightly arched outwards.
This preferred embodiment of the subject matter of the invention has the advantage of being relatively easy to manufacture. The piston rod designed in this way is guided to and fro in a guide bush 8, the bore of which has a cross-sectional shape adapted to the circumference of the piston rod, e.g. Triangle or preferably triangle with rounded tips and slightly arched sides outwards, as can be seen in particular from FIG.
The guide bush 8 has a cylindrical outer circumference and is inserted into a cylindrical bore in the end cover 3 of the cylinder. At each of its axial ends, it carries a sealing ring 9 or 10 made of elastic material, which fits completely and airtight to the circumference of the piston rod. The sealing rings can e.g. originally have circular openings, the arrangement being made such that they cling to the circumference of the piston rod after being appropriately deformed when they are inserted into the recess receiving them.
However, the sealing rings can also have an opening which inherently corresponds exactly to the cross-sectional shape of the piston rod. They definitely have a cylindrical outer circumference and on their side facing the guide bushing a pin or flange-like projection 11 or 12 or more such projections (in the embodiment shown in the drawing three such projections), the arrangement so met is that the projection or the projections enters a corresponding groove or groove 13 or 14 on the face of the guide bushing that is facing and serves to hold its ring on the bushing.
To hold the guide bush 8 on the end cover 3 of the cylinder, an end ring 15 is provided, which is applied from the outside to the flush outer end faces of the end cover and the guide bush and can be detachably attached to the end cover of the cylinder with the help of several screws 16. Since it rests against the end face of the guide bush from the outside after it has been attached to the end cap, it holds it in the recess 17 of the end cap of the cylinder intended for it.
The arrangement is such that the inner sealing ring 9 is housed in a cylindrical recess 18 on the end cover and the outer sealing ring 10 is set into the bore 19 of the end ring. The sealing rings 9, 10 each rest with their end faces on the facing surfaces or end faces of the guide bush. 20 are pins with the help of which the relative position of the locking ring with respect to the guide bushing and the cover of the Zy Linders can be determined.
