Verfahren zur Herstellung von Estern der Phosphonothiosäuren Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Verbindungen der Formel
EMI0001.0005
<I>Beispiel 2</I>

So erzielt man z.
So erzielt man z.
Process for the preparation of esters of phosphonothioic acids The invention relates to a process for the preparation of compounds of the formula
EMI0001.0005
wherein Y is propoxy and R is hydrogen or an alkyl group of up to 4 carbon atoms.
The compounds obtained according to the invention are new substances and are used according to the invention to control pests. They are particularly effective against lepidoptera and other economically important insects. Surprisingly, despite their particularly strong activity against lepidoptera, coleopteran and mites, they are hardly toxic to mammals.
The term pests in the present patent should be understood to mean lower organisms which cause economic and health damage and are generally fought with chemical Mittelhe, while higher animals, eg. B. Vertebrates, such as rodents, birds, and all larger animals, which are better controlled mechanically or by means of traps, should not be included in this designation.
It is clear to the person skilled in the art that the toxic effectiveness of these new substances, which have proven themselves against the animal species tested, is a sign of their effectiveness against other species as well.
The process for the production of the compounds mentioned is characterized in that one has compounds of the formula
EMI0001.0028
wherein Hal is a halogen atom, preferably a chlorine atom, with compounds of the formula
EMI0001.0033
in the presence of an acid binder. As a means of binding the hydrogen halide formed during the implementation, z. B. triethylamine and pyridine proved useful.
The reaction is conveniently carried out in the presence of an organic solvent, e.g. B. benzene, dioxane, toluene or Xylo1, and carried out at a temperature lying between 30 and 80 C. Yields of 85-98% of theory can be obtained under such conditions.
EMI0001.0051
50 ml of benzene, 14.9 g (0.12 mol) of p-toluene thiol and 25.0 g (0.12 mol) of O- (n-propyl) chloromethylphosphonochloride thioate are introduced into a reaction vessel into which one is slowly added Introduces a solution of 12.2 g (0.12 mol) of triethylamine in 25 ml of benzene.
After the addition of the triethylamine is complete, while the contents of the vessel are kept at 30-35 ° C., the reaction mixture is heated for another hour at 45 ° C., twice with cold water, once with a 101% sodium carbonate solution and again twice with cold water What water washed, then dried and evaporated at 60 C under high vacuum.
The concentrated product consists, as was found, of 34 g (960 / yr yield) of O- (n-propyl) -S- (p-toluyl) -chloromethylphosphonodithioate with a refractive index nD21 = 1.5862 and the elemental analysis 9 , 8% P, 22.8% S and 12,
5% Cl compared to the theoretically calculated values of 10.5% P, 21.7% S and 12.1% Cl.
Using the procedure as essentially described in Example 1, the following specific compounds are prepared. <I> Example 2 </I>
EMI0002.0024
O -isopropyl -S- (p -toluyl) -chloromethylphosphonodi-thioate, nD25 = 1.5802, yield = 93% of theory.
Found: 10.2% P, 22.4% S and 12.7% Cl. Calculated:
10.5% P, 21.7% S and 12.1% Cl. <I> Example 3 </I>
EMI0002.0052
O - isopropyl S- (p-tert: butylphenyl) chloromethyl phosphonodithioate, nD25 = 1.5642, yield = 84% of theory. Found:
9.6% P, 18.7% S and 10.5% Cl. Calculated: 9.2% P, 19.0% S and 10.5% Cl.
The insecticidal activity of the compounds of the preceding examples is shown in Table I, in which the percentage mortality in a group of test animals for a certain amount of active ingredient, expressed in micrograms (hereinafter referred to as bio-test test), and for a percentage concentration of the active ingredient in aqueous solution (hereinafter referred to as the selection test). A sloping line is used to separate the percent mortality among the test animals on the left and the percent concentration or total amount of drug on the right.
In the table the different insects have the following numbers: 1. House fly - Musca domestica (Linn.) 2. American cockroach - Periplaneta americana (Linn.) 3.
Long bug - Oncopeltus fasciatus (Dallas) 4. Flour beetle - Tribolium confusum (Duval) 5. Salt Marsh caterpillar - Estigmene acrea (Drury)

<tb> 6 <SEP> 92 / 0.10 / 0 <SEP> - <SEP> - <SEP> - <SEP> - The test animals labeled 1-4 were in cardboard boxes with a diameter of 78 mm and a height of 66 mm, and 10-25 sects in each box.
The boxes had a cellophane bottom and were closed with a net at the top. Each box contained food and water, with the exception of those containing flour beetles, which were tested primarily to determine the effect of smoking. There were dispersions of the compounds to be examined by U sen of 1 / 2g of the active ingredient in 10 ml of acetone.
This solution was then diluted with water containing 0.015% Vatsol (sodium isopropylnaphthalene sulphonate) and 0.005% Methocel (methyl cellulose) as emulsifying agents, the amount of water being sufficient to absorb the active ingredient up to a concentration of 0.
Dilute 1% or less. The test insects were then sprayed with this dispersion. After 24 and 72 hours, the dead and the surviving insects were counted.
Compounds with high activity against house flies in the screening test were used for bioassays on house flies. In this experiment, the known amount of the active ingredient was applied to a limited area. The same boxes were used for the fly biotest as for the selection test. A weighed amount of the active ingredient was placed in a petri dish 60 mm in diameter together with 1 ml of acetone containing petroleum ether.
After the solution had air dried, a box of 25 female flies was placed over the back. The live and dead insects were counted after 24 and 72 hours.
Essentially the same procedure was used for the bioassay with meal beetles. However, 20 adult mealworms were used for this test. Mortality was determined after 24 and 48 hours.
In the butterfly test, salt marsh caterpillars according to No. 5 above were used as test animals, a typical representative of a large number of economically important plant pests. Experimental dispersions of different concentrations were prepared by adding the active ingredient to solutions of water containing wetting agents according to the above procedure.
Dock leaves approximately 12 1/2 inches long were immersed in this dispersion for 10 seconds. Then the leaves were left to dry. A filter paper sheet was placed in a feed container of 1/2 kg and moistened with 1 ml of water. The dried dock leaves were then placed in the container along with five larvae of the third molt of the salt marsh caterpillar. A Petri dish lid was used for observation. The experiments were carried out for 48 hours.
After 24 hours, a fresh, non-wetted dock leaf was placed in the container. Mortality was recorded at 24 and 48 hours.
In addition to the insecticidal action against the above-mentioned insects, the compounds according to the invention are also effective against mites and beetles. So you get z. B. with the compounds of Examples 4 and 7 a 100% destruction of the spider mite Tetranychus telarius with an active ingredient concentration of 0,
05% with LD "o values at considerably lower concentrations.
In fact, the LDrö value for the compound according to Example 7 is still considerably below a concentration of 0.01%. In beetles, there is also high effectiveness at low concentration. So you get z.
B. with the connection according to Example 5 a 9011 / o destruction of leaf beetles Gastroidea cyanea at a concentration of 0.01 0/0 or a 30% destruction at a concentration of 0,
005%. Even so, their mammalian toxicity for an effective acaricidal agent is remarkably low. The MLDSÖ value is approximately 100 mg / kg in the white mouse.
The tests to determine the acaricidal activity described above were carried out with young plants of the piebald bean in the first leaf stage as host plants for the mites. These plants were infected with a few hundred mites and then sprayed until they drained down with an aqueous test dispersion prepared in the manner indicated above. The sprayed plants were transferred to a greenhouse and kept there for 14 days, after which the dead and live mites were counted.
Leaf beetle mortality from the compounds of the invention was determined by a procedure essentially identical to the previously described method for butterflies.
Although the above experiments were carried out with aqueous dispersions, the active substances can also be used in the form of aqueous solutions, if they are noticeably soluble, of non-aqueous solutions, wetting powders, vapors and dust, as is most expedient for the respective case. In special applications, the active ingredient can even be used in its pure, undiluted form.
