dergeschlagene Wirkstoff ebenfalls ver loren geht.
Di-iso-propyl-dichlorvinylphosphat, Di-sekundär-butyl- dichlorvinylphosphat, Di-n-butyldichlorvinylp#hosphat, Di-amyl-dichlorvinylphosp'hate, Dimethyl- bzw.

Method and device for long-term delivery of active ingredients The present invention: relates to a method and a device for long-term, uniform delivery of volatile active ingredients such. B. biocides, in particular insecticides, fungicides, bactericides, insect repellants, furthermore deodorants, odor-improving agents.
In particular, the present invention relates to a method for the long-term and uniform dispensing of volatile active ingredients, characterized in that the active ingredient is released into the surrounding phase from a pressure vessel under the action of a gaseous or liquid fluid through a homogeneous discharge. ttsschic'ht whose structure diffuses through:
of the active ingredient allowed under the action of pressure, can escape. Suitable materials for the exit layer are, for. B. those made of a plastic, preferably made of polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride or a mixed polymer of vinylidene chloride and vinylch:
loride, or organic substances of fibrous structure, preferably wood and in particular inorganic porous substances, e.g. B. glass or metal sintered masses or ceramic materials.
The present invention also relates to a device for the long-term release of volatile active substances, consisting of a pressure vessel whose walls are impermeable and have an opening which is closed by a homogeneous outlet layer, the structure of which allows the active substance to diffuse through.
When using active ingredients of the named type is in many cases a release to a medium such. B. air or water, in the catfish it is desirable that the concentration of the active ingredient is as constant as possible in this medium.
A precise adherence to a certain concentration, i.e. a possible stable release of active ingredient, is in many cases already required with regard to the toxicity of the active ingredient and the associated upper limit of the application concentration. lich. Furthermore:
The success that can be achieved with a certain amount of active ingredient is greater, the more even the concentration of the application.
If the active ingredients are to be applied in the surrounding air, this can be done in a known manner either by spraying, e.g. B. as an aerosol, or by evaporation. In the case of an aerosol, there is initially a maximum concentration of the active ingredient in the atmosphere of the treated room after spraying, which results by escaping from Publ openings, eg. B.
Doors or windows of the room, and quickly reduced by the deposition of aerosol particles on the walls. In many cases, the active substance is destroyed after a short time by contact with the generally alkaline building materials, so that the one on your wall n! E:
the beaten active ingredient is also lost. This form of application also requires a periodically high spraying process to maintain the most uniform possible effect in the atmosphere,
which can be done either manually or automatically and accordingly requires staff or a complicated and correspondingly expensive timer. In many cases, manual control is ruled out from the start; B. when the device is in a difficult-to-access location, e.g. B. in a swamp (mosquito control) or in a heap of grain (Ko: weevil control) is introduced.
In most practical cases, automatic control is not considered for price reasons.
If the active ingredient is evaporated in a known manner by means of a wick, it is difficult to maintain a long, constant, uniform concentration of the active ingredient in the area to be treated, since z. B.: the evaporation, is strongly dependent on the temperature conditions. Furthermore, many active ingredients are used in long-term contact with air, e.g. B. destroyed by air oxygen, moisture, etc., so that it is necessary to protect the active ingredient, as long as it is not yet to enter the medium to be protected, from contact with the atmosphere.
In addition, in view of the toxicity of most active ingredients, it must be avoided that the active ingredient occurs in a dangerous dose at the application site. These requirements are met by the known evaporation methods, e.g.
B. by means of a wick, not or only insufficiently taken into account.
The device according to the invention has the particular advantage that with its help it is possible, even with temperature fluctuations and fluctuations in the moisture content in the surrounding atmosphere, to supply a surprisingly constant amount of active ingredient to the area to be treated.
The new device is particularly suitable for the long-term and constant release of volatile insecticidal organic phosphorus compounds. Examples of the volatile phosphorus compounds mentioned are those of the following formulas:
EMI0002.0042
where R and R 'are alkyl radicals with 1 to 5 carbon atoms, R "are hydrogen or methyl, X and X' are oxygen or sulfur, and Hal are halogen atoms, preferably chlorine or bromine atoms, such as in particular dimethyldichlorovinylphosphate (DDVP ), but also diethyl dichlorovinylphosph'ha @ t, di-n-propyl or
Di-iso-propyl-dichlorovinyl phosphate, di-secondary-butyl-dichlorovinyl phosphate, di-n-butyl dichlorovinyl phosphate, di-amyl dichlorovinyl phosphate, dimethyl or diethyl dibromovinyl phosphate, methyl ethyl dichlorovinyl phosphate, and also those esters, which can be derived from the above formula by saturation of the double bond with Halo genatomen, such.
B. the bromination product of DDVP, D: imathyl-1,2-dibromo-2,2, d.ichloroethylphosphate; furthermore, if applicable, the connections
EMI0002.0072
In general, active ingredient is delivered to an air-filled space; the active substance that has passed through the diffusion wall (exit layer) is evaporated. The active ingredient can also be released into a liquid, for example water in swamps, lakes and rivers.
The inside of the diffusion wall can be rinsed with a sufficiently large supply of active substances with the additional use of a cap'llar effect, for example by one end of a wick dipping into the active substance supply, while the other end of the wick touches the inner surface of the diffusion wall (discharge layer) and wetted with active ingredient.
The outside of the diffusion wall (exit layer) also serves as an evaporation surface for the active substance. The diffusion resistance of the wall is advantageously dimensioned such that the evaporation of the active substance on the outer surface of the wall outweighs the diffusion of the active substance through the wall, so that WiTk substance does not occur in liquid form on the outside.
The container can be designed so that it can be used as a transport and storage container for the active ingredient before it is used as an active ingredient-releasing device; in this case the diffusion wall does not come into effect during storage and transport. This can e.g.
B. can be achieved in that the diffusion wall is separated from the outside space in the storage state by a layer impermeable to the active substance, e.g.
B. by a closure cap or closure layer made of a material impermeable to the active ingredient, which is drawn over the outlet layer, or by a shut-off valve. There are shut-off valves with and without valve springs.
In the case of valves with a spring, in the closed state, the valve pin is held in such a position by the spring force that the valve bore is closed by the valve seal.
The device is then put into operation by placing an evaporation body on the valve head and locking the former into the valve holder. As a result, the spring force of the valve spring is counteracted and the valve pin is pressed down, the valve bore being brought into a position in which its lower end is no longer closed by the valve seal.
The active substance can thus reach the attached evaporation body (see FIGS. 7 and 8). The evaporation body be available in particular from a porous material, for. B. Sound. In the case of valves without a valve spring, the closure in the storage state is achieved in that an elastic membrane is applied to the valve head.
The device is started up and the valve is opened by placing an evaporation body: its retaining lamellae snap into an indentation in the valve disk and thereby push the membrane down so far,
that there is a gap between the valve head and the upper diaphragm. The path to the evaporative body is thus cleared for the active substance (see FIG. 9).
If plastic is used as the material for the outlet layer, a particularly uniform diffusion, dependent as little as possible on the temperature and moisture content of the atmosphere, can be achieved if: the plastic contains a plasticizer and if the active ingredient contains this plasticizer is miscible.
Since part of the plasticizer can migrate to the outside when the active substance is transported through the diffusion wall, it may be advantageous to add plasticizer to the active substance solution inside the vessel in order to keep the amount of the plasticizer contained in the diffusion wall constant .
It has been shown that by adding plasticizers and, if necessary, stabilizers to the active substance to be dispensed, an extension of the period of time can be achieved within which the active substance is uniformly dispensed. In the case of a diffusion wall made of PVC, the usual plasticizers suitable for PVC can generally be used, with particular success the dioctyl phthalate.
Another advance in achieving a uniform diffusion over long periods of time through an outlet layer made of plastic, e.g. B.
PVC is achieved by adding stabilizers of the type of acid-binding epoxy and ethylene imide groups containing organic compounds, such as epichlothydrin, glycidic esters of phenols, monohydric and polyhydric alcohols, as well as Äthylenimi @ the organic carboxylic acids such as benzoic acid, or Carbonic acid mono-alkyl esters, e.g.
B. Ethyl carbonic acid ethylene amide.
The hicht as materials for the Austrittsc (Diffu sion wall) serving plastics can certain fillers such. B. finely divided silica, silicates, soot, wood flour, etc. contain. With such an addition, the diffusion resistance or the diffusion capacity of the exit layer can be adjusted to the desired extent.
The usual gases, vapors and low-boiling liquids used in aerosol technology can be used as propellants, which bring about the necessary pressure on the active ingredient or the active ingredient solution inside the device in the direction of the container walls or the outlet layer, e.g. .
B. N., air, CO, noble gases, low-boiling hydrocarbons and fluorocarbons.
The pressure to be applied inside the device can be varied within relatively wide limits depending on the design of the pressure vessel and the resistance of the container walls or the outlet layer, eg. B. between 0.01 to 50 and more atmospheres, preferably between 0.1 and 20 and in particular 2 to 6 atmospheres overpressure.
Further details of the invention will be explained in the following and discussed on the basis of the embodiments shown in the accompanying drawings. FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of a device according to the invention during its use in a hanging arrangement.
