Shut-off device The invention relates to a shut-off device; it assumes that in practice, for example in chemical systems, there is often an occasion to replace a screw-down valve with a cock with a plug or vice versa. The main advantage of such a cock is that the position of its handle allows you to easily see whether the cock is closed or fully or partially open, and that (with a straight passage) the flow resistance is lower than with a screw-down valve, where the maintenance of the Sealing surfaces lighter, the seal more reliable and the risk of wear and tear on the seat is lower.
Replacing such a tap against a screw-down valve and vice versa was previously cumbersome; the tap had to be separated from the lines and the valve connected to the lines or vice versa. Closing organs that are permanently built into a longer piece of pipe, for example stator valves and taps as well as shut-off devices of pillar batteries, could not be exchanged for other types of shut-off devices; in such cases it was necessary to replace the entire stator valve or the entire pillar tap or the entire pillar battery to replace.
The invention is based on the new object of avoiding these disadvantages.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that either the seat and the closure piece of a screw-down valve or a cock can be inserted into the housing of the shut-off element.
Preferably, the housing has an internal thread into which either an approach of a seat for a closure piece with attachable low screw means in the housing or an approach of a plug housing with a plug with fastenable rotation means in the housing can be screwed. In this case, the handle of the cock plug can expediently be fixed on its shaft in a position that can be selected with respect to the plug. For this purpose, the spindle of the plug can have longitudinal ribs which engage in longitudinal grooves of a bore in the handle. In the drawing, the subject of the invention is shown in example.
The figures show: FIG. 1 a longitudinal section through a screw-down valve, FIG. 2 a longitudinal section through a cock.
The screw-down valve according to FIG. 1 has a seat 1 with an extension 2 which sits in an internal thread 3 of the housing 4. The locking piece 5 is non-rotatably connected to the handle 7 by a spindle 6, but is longitudinally displaceable. The spindle 6 and the handle 7 are guided in a part 8 which is screwed into the housing 4 Ge.
The tap according to FIG. 2 has a plug housing 9 with a projection 10 which is screwed into the internal thread 3 of the housing 4 Ge. The upper end of the spindle 11 of the plug 12 has longitudinal ribs 13 which engage in Längril len 14 of the handle 15 which is attached by a screw 16 to the spindle. The upper part of the faucet contains a toothed lock with a member 17 connected to the spindle 11 and a counter-member 19 attached to the guide 18 of the spindle screwed into the housing. In the dargestell th position of the member 17 and the handle 15, this lock is engaged.
It can be moved out by an axial pressure on the handle 15 against the force of a return spring 20 for the purpose of actuating the valve. In the disengaged position, the toothed part of the link 17 protrudes into a cavity 21. The link 17 can also be used with the top and bottom sides interchanged. The locking mechanism is disengaged and cannot be engaged, so that the tap can be actuated without any axial pressure on the handle.
The screw-down valve according to FIG. 1 and the cock according to FIG. 2 have the same housing 4, so that the seat 1 and the associated locking piece 5 with the spindle 6, its guide part 8 and the handle 7 against the plug housing 9 with the plug 12, its Spindle 11, handle 15 and guide 18 are exchangeable.
As a result, the screw-down valve can be replaced by the stopcock or, conversely, the stopcock can be replaced by the screw-down valve without having to disconnect and reconnect the connected lines. With stand valves or faucets and stand-alone batteries, the pipes of which are firmly connected to the housing of the shut-off device or the shut-off devices, it is only possible in this way to replace a tap with a valve or vice versa, thereby replacing the stand or the stand-alone battery otherwise to be retained.
The longitudinal ribs 13 of the spindle 11 and the longitudinal grooves 14 of the handle 15 make it possible to fix it in a selectable position in relation to the chick so that the handle is fixed in the housing 4 regardless of the position in which the chick housing 9 is attached can be set during assembly in such a way that its position has a certain relationship with the position of the tap.
