Device for the continuous, loose looping of cotton fleeces used for the production of tampons, in particular for feminine hygiene, with a pull-back thread and for continuous
Knot the ends of the thread
A device for continuously loosely looping around wadding used for the production of tampons, in particular for feminine hygiene, with a pull-back thread and for continuously knotting the ends of the thread at a distance from the wadding is known, in which a rotatable knotter hook is connected to a rotating organ surrounded by a thread puller.
The object of the invention is to create an improved device of this known type which ensures the precise operation required for mass production, high performance and high operational safety.
To achieve this aim, the invention is characterized in that the clamping disk opposite the clamping surface of the thread puller and a clamping jaw opposite the clamping disk can each be controlled alternately against the action of a return element.
Further details are described in more detail below with reference to the description of an exemplary embodiment of the invention shown in the drawing.

In Figs. 1 to 3 and 9 and 11, a housing 1 of a device for continuous loosely order loops for the production of tampons, in particular for feminine hygiene, serving wadding 2 with a Rückziehfadsn 3 and for continuously knotting the ends of the thread in Distance from the wadding shown. The wadding fleece is passed through an opening 4 in the housing. A knoterh. aken 5 is mounted drivably in the housing in the direction of rotation. The axis of a deflection wheel 6 is arranged coaxially to the axis of the knot hook. endless flexible member 7 is coupled to a further deflection wheel 8 of the same size.
The rotary drive of one of the deflection wheels and the knotter hook can be derived from a common drive motor via an interposed gear, which has not been shown to simplify the drawing.
The revolving endless link 7 has a thread puller 9. whose clamping disk 10 opposite a clamping surface 11 of the thread puller and whose clamping jaw 12 opposite the clamping disk 10 can each be controlled alternately against the action of a restoring element 13 and 14, respectively.
The control of the clamping jaw 12 with respect to the clamping disk 10 takes place after one revolution of the thread puller in the sense of pinching the thread 3, which extends between a guide roller 15 and a control lever 16 for the knot formed, by means of a control element 17 designed as a pressure roller with eccentric bolts. Before the clamping jaw 12 is pulled away from the clamping disk 10 by the control element 17 by means of a control mushroom 23, the thread puller 9 has already moved past the control element 17 with its control p, without the control mushroom 42 and thus the clamping jaw 10 being actuated because the control mushroom 42 has a slot that is slightly wider than the control element 17.
Assuming that the thread puller is already carrying the front end of the thread of the loop to be formed, this end is between the clamping disc 10 and 10 when the thread forming the rear end of the loop, which extends between the guide roller 15 and the control lever 16, is pinched the clamping surface 11 of the thread puller clamped. As a result, the length of the loop formed is precisely determined at this moment.
The thread puller then guides the two threads of the loop into the area of action of a thread guide curve 18, which also acts as a thread divider, in such a way that the two threads of the loop are guided under the thread guide curve and are caught by the knot hook while the thread puller continues to move, while the thread that is drawn is on the Outside of the thread guide curve along the wind.
After the knot has been formed by the knotter hook moving against the direction of rotation x of the thread puller at least during the knot formation, the clamping disc 10 can be lifted off the clamping surface 11 of the thread puller 9 by means of a further control element 19 to release the front end of the loop.
After the release of the front end of the thread of the loop formed, but before the cutting of the rear end of the thread of the loop formed by means of a fixed knife 20, the adhesive disk 10 clamps the end of the thread for the loop to be newly formed, which was cut before the cutting by means of the fixed knife still forms a continuous thread with the rear end of the thread of the loop formed, firmly against the clamping surface 11 of the thread puller. This takes place immediately after passing the control element 19, so that the thread for the new loop to be formed is securely held by the thread puller.
Before the rear end of the thread is separated from the loop formed by the fixed knife 20 from the front end of the thread of the loop to be formed, the clamping jaw 12 is briefly lifted from the clamping disc 10 by means of the control element 19. As a result, the rear end of the thread of the loop formed is released so that the portion of the thread extending between the knotter hook 5 and the thread puller 9 is kept under the permissible tension and, if necessary, such a length of thread can be drawn under the action of the knotter hook can, as is necessary for the formation of the knot and the grasping of the front end of the loop to be subsequently formed by the thread puller.
In contrast to the control element 17, the control element 19 is so wide that when the thread puller 9 is moved in the x direction, the control mushroom 42 is pushed up by the control element 19 despite its slot, and the clamping disc 10 is lifted from the clamping surface 11.
As can be seen in particular from FIGS. 4, 7 and 10, the clamping jaws, 10 and the clamping jaws
12 and the clamping surface 11 of the thread puller 9 are arranged in such a way that the clamping disc under the action of the restoring element 13 with a rear part 10a of its surface in the direction of rotation x of the thread puller and with a front part 10b in the direction of rotation x of its surface against the clamping surface 11 of the thread puller its surface is pulled against the clamping jaw 12, which by means of a control pin 22 in the clamping or. Opening senses can be actuated.
In this case, the clamping jaw 12 is pressed against the clamping disc 10 under the action of the restoring element 14 with a force which is less than that in which the clamping disc is held in its clamping position by means of the restoring element 13. The end of the control pin 22, which works together with the control element 19, is designed as a control mushroom 23. One end of the return element 14, which is designed as a compression spring and which rests with the other end on a plate-shaped extension 24, a bushing 25, is supported on the control mushroom. The bushing passes through an element of the endless chain link 7 and engages with its end in a bore 26 of the thread puller housing 27.
The end of the control pin 22 opposite the control mushroom 23 is guided in a longitudinally displaceable manner in the socket 25 and in an extension 28 of the bore 26 with a reduced diameter and is coupled to the clamping jaw 12 using a rocker arm 29. The rocker arm is pivotably mounted on the outer longitudinal side of the thread puller housing in the direction of rotation on a pin 30 which is firmly screwed to the thread puller housing and is secured against axial displacement by means of a nut 31. The rocker arm has at one end a projection 32 directed transversely to its pivot plane, with which it engages in a recess 33 of the control pin 22, the length of which is somewhat larger than the diameter of the projection.
The rocker arm is provided at its other end with a further extension 34 which engages in a recess 35 of a pin 36 of the clamping jaw in a direction parallel to the extension 32. The recess 35 also extends over a length which is only slightly larger than the diameter of the projection 34. The pin 36 is guided directly in the thread puller housing 27. Thus, the rocker arm with the two lugs 32 and 34 engages in the recesses 33 and 35 of the control pin 22 and 36 of the clamping jaw in a rotatable but axially immovable manner.
The clamping disk 10 is penetrated coaxially by a control pin 37 and secured on this against axial displacement by means of a nut 38. The clamping disk engages with a collar 10c in a bore 39 of the thread-pulling housing, which is partially delimited laterally by the clamping jaw. The control pin 37 is guided in a socket 40 which is secured against axial displacement by a pin 45 relative to the thread-pulling housing. This socket penetrates a further element of the endless flexible chain link 7 and is widened like a plate at 41 on the side facing away from the clamping disk 10.
One end of the restoring element 13, which is also designed as a compression spring, rests on this plate-like extension, the other end of which rests on the inside of the control mushroom 42, which forms the end of the control pin opposite the clamping disk. It can thus be seen that the clamping disk 10, the control pin 22 for the clamping disk 10 and the clamping jaw with their pin 36 are arranged axially displaceably in the latter, parallel to one another, approximately perpendicular to the plane of rotation of the flexible endless member 7 or the thread puller 9 .
A gripping claw 43 is arranged on the inner side in the direction of rotation x of the thread puller at a distance from the thread puller housing, which is provided with an end-face incision 44, in which, after one revolution, that portion of the thread is inserted that is between the guide roller 15 and the Control lever 16 extends. Because the gripping claw is arranged parallel at a distance from the thread puller housing, a right-angled space 44 is formed into which the stationary knife 20 engages.
The cutting edge 20a of the fixed knife is offset in relation to the outer end face of the thread guide curve 18 in the direction of the housing 1 of the device in such a way that only that thread section is cut that is between the clamping jaw 12 and the clamping disc 10 of the thread puller via the incision 44 of the Gripping claw extends to the knotter, so that the thread 3 for the new loop to be formed, which slides on the outer end face 18a of the thread guide curve, can slide past the knife.
This effect is supported by an arm 18b of the thread guide curve, which overlaps at a distance parallel to the upper run 7a of the flexible endless member 7 with the fixed knife in a plane perpendicular to the plane of rotation of the thread puller, parallel to each other.
In particular in FIGS. 1 to 3, a worm 50 can be seen which is fastened coaxially on the deflection wheel 8. The loop formed slides from this worm onto a Fadenübergzber 51, which counter to the action of an elastic restoring element 52 under the tension, under the. the loop is due to the rotation of the knotter, can be pivoted out of its position approximately parallel to the rotating plane d s.
The thread transfer device is used to transfer the thread of the loop formed in two notches 53, 53a at the free end of a winding mandrel 54, each of which overlaps a wadding 2 on both sides on a length corresponding to the length of the wadding. The loop leading parts of the thread transmitter 51 and the restoring element acting on this are dimensioned such that the loop is only inserted into the two notches of the winding mandrel at the moment when the knot loop, which is around d! en knotter hook is lying around, slides off this.
The Fadsnübergebsr 51 is designed as a fork, the prongs 51a, 51b have a slightly larger distance from one another compared to the outer diameter of the screw 50. The free ends of the fork prongs are held approximately in the plane in which the loop slides off the worm.
The transfer of the loop to the thread transfer device is provided at the moment when the rear end of the fadiene is pinched between the clamping jaw and the clamping disc from the worm to the thread transfer device. The ends of the fork prongs of the thread transfer device overlap the end face of the worm with part of the guide shoulder, one of which is designated 51c in FIG. 2. The thread transfer device is mounted pivotably about an axis 55 which is parallel to the plane of rotation of the revolving organ and which is arranged between the axes of the two deflecting wheels of the endless, flexible organ.
A worm thread 56 of the worm 50 runs out prematurely in the direction of the end face of the worm into a nose 57 protruding approximately tangentially and axially over the circumference of the worm, which when the worm rotates in the direction of the revolving organ at a small distance from the one for receiving the loop Serving ends of the fork prongs of the Fadsnübergebers 51 can be passed. The worm thread extends about 360 on the circumference of the worm.
A guide cone 58 is arranged coaxially between the deflection wheel 8 and the worm 50, the cone tapering in the direction of the worm to its diameter.
To safely guide the thread for the loop to be formed, a guide bracket 60 is provided on the housing 1, which extends from the edge of the housing in the circumferential direction to the control element 17 transversely to the direction of the two strands of the endless flexible member over the end of the control lever 16 in the distance before. Arm 18b of the thread guide curve extends un, d is slightly bent up at its end. The thread guide bracket thus ensures that the thread, which is guided around the wadding fleece by the thread puller, remains in a certain plane, and that the knotted loop reliably engages around the knot control lever 16.
The knot control lever is only operated when the loop is tied.
If no knot is formed, the knot control lever 16 remains in its tilted position. In this case, the timing relay is not interrupted and the machine is stopped.
