The present invention relates to a valved line coupling for compressed air, fluids or the like, the coupling having a valve housing with a central through-hole, wherein a plug-in coupling nipple is inserted into the Through-hole lifts the valve head and is guided past locking balls, which are mounted in open wall holes in the front part of the valve housing and in their outer positions allow the nipple to be passed, but in their inner,
Prevent the pulling out of the nipple by an axially displaceable ball lock sleeve. The essence of the invention is that the coupling has a locking device for retaining the ball locking sleeve in the locked position, a limiting device for the stroke height of the valve head and a double sealing device between the valve housing and the nipple. The overall effect of the coupling can only be ensured by the joint effect of the parts mentioned above.
In the accompanying drawing an execution example of the subject invention is shown.
Fig. 1 shows the coupling in longitudinal section and Fig. 2 shows an average of an associated individual part on a larger scale.
The line coupling consists of a Ventilge housing 1 with a connector 2 for connecting a line, not shown, for the execution of compressed air or the like, into which valve housing a nipple 3 also provided with an end connector is inserted for a continuation line. At a front end, the valve housing has a number of holes 5 extending through the housing wall, each provided with a locking ball 6 inserted therein.
A locking sleeve 7 axially displaceable on the valve housing is normally in an advanced position under the action of a spring 8; the ball holes covering position, wherein the locking balls in this inner layer of an existing on the nipple annular increase 9 are present and thereby prevent the nipple from being pulled out of the valve housing. A circlip 10 surrounding the valve housing is pressing against the spring 8 and has an axial groove in the inner wall surface, in which an engaging ball 11 of the valve housing ensures a straight axial movement, but allows free rotation of the circlip at an appropriate angle when fully pushed in.
The valve housing has its valve seat approximately level with the engagement ball 11, and the valve head 12, which is displaceable by the nipple, is effected by a spring 14 return spring. When the valve head is open, there is a free flow of compressed air or liquid through the central bore 15 in the valve housing and in the nipple. For the flow-by seal along the outer perimeter of the nipple there are two sealing rings, one, 15, around the circumferential surface of the nipple near the annular elevation 9 thereof, and the other, 16, at the front end of the nipple, such as is described in more detail below.
With the valve head mentioned above, the valve housing is designed in such a way that the outer end has such a large diameter that the valve head can be guided into the housing through this outer end. The elevation of the valve head must be limited, however, and this happens ge by the restraining spring 4, the end part of the same for this purpose has a diagonal passage at the end passage.
The end seal shown in Fig. 2 for the nipple consists of a sealing ring 16 made of rubber or the like, which is radially compressed by the formation of the nipple end and thereby expanded axially to under appropriate sealing pressure of the joint 20 between the adjacent cylinder surfaces of the nipple and the valve body is above.
Because two sealing rings 15, 16 lie one behind the other, when the nipple is pushed in, an oil pressure pad is brought from the first sealing ring 15 to the following sealing ring 16, and it may not be appropriate to do the same on the last sealing ring will hold. This is avoided by the end design of the nipple, which has the consequence that the oil cushion is driven past the end sealing ring and goes out through the central through-hole.
The abortion of the oil cushion is facilitated by the fact that the pressure surface of the nipple end has a direction that rejects the axial direction 17, as indicated by 19 in FIG. 2.
In order to remedy the above-mentioned disadvantage, this surface direction can practically have any leaning angle between the straight axial direction 17 and the radial direction 30 and thereby extend from the rounded bottom of the nipple surface. The arrow 31 in the drawing indicates the limit positions for the oblique direction.
The present first sealing ring 15 has a corresponding compression course, which can happen with the help of the annular elevation 9 of the nipple.
As can be seen from the drawing, the nipple can also be seen with a valve 22 with loading spring 23 ver. The same is turned abge from the valve 12. The advantage of this is that the direction of flow through the coupling can be arbitrary and that both coupling parts can retain the sealing connection for the corresponding lines when they are split. With one-way closure it is also possible to receive the flow in any direction and with two-way closure it is possible to have a check valve effect.
Due to its extremely good sealing conditions and simple composition, the line coupling is of great value in practical use. The items of the invention may be subject to changes within the scope of the following claim.
