Description
Additive for Industrial Fuel Oil The present invention relates to an additive for industrial fuel oil.
It is well known that sulfur oxides are formed when industrial heating oil is burned. These can be bound by blowing magnesium oxide or dolomite into the oil-fired heating systems. The degree of this binding depends on the degree of oxidation from SO2 to SO3, which can take place either in the gas phase or on an absorption medium.
It has now been found that the absorption efficiency can be increased by adding oxidation catalysts to the heating oil, which either in dissolved or dispersed form favor the conversion of S02 into S03 during the combustion process in the flue gas stream or on the absorbent.
The additive according to the invention for industrial heating oil is therefore characterized in that it contains an oxidation catalyst, e.g. B. in a solvent or dispersant solvent naphtha contains.
The metals and metal compounds of groups 2, 5, 6, 7 and B of the periodic table, either alone or as a mixture, are suitable as oxidation catalysts. Organometallic compounds of these elements are preferred.
In order to improve the atomization effect of the fuel oil at the burner nozzle, a dispersant in the form of oil-soluble alkaline earth compounds, e.g. B. a magnesium, calcium or barium sulfonate add.
2 Example 1 0.01 to 5% calcium sulfonate and 0.001 to 3% ferrocene (in solvent naphtha) are added to an industrial heating oil.
Example 2 0.01 to 5% magnesium naphthenate and 0.001 to 3% ferrocene (in Sol-VeritnaDhtha) are added to an industrial heating oil.
