Die erfindungsgemässe Wellenkupplung mit über- lastsicherung stellt eine weitere Konstruktion dar, die dort anwendbar ist, wo der eine Wellenteil beim Ausrasten und im ausgerasteten Zustand eine gerin ge axiale Verschiebung gestattet;
Shaft coupling with overload protection The present invention relates to a shaft coupling with overload protection, in which one of the two shafts executes a slight axial displacement when it disengages.
Shaft couplings are known in which shear pins with a predetermined shear strength are used to limit the torque to be transmitted. Replacing the shear pin fragments with new shear pins is time consuming.
Shaft couplings are known in which compression springs are provided in connection with fixed or adjustable locking elements, which can be brought back into the operating position in a relatively simple manner after the system has been switched off as a result of the preset torque being exceeded.
The shaft coupling according to the invention with overload protection represents a further construction which can be used where one shaft part allows a slight axial displacement when disengaged and in the disengaged state;
it is characterized in that the end of one of the shafts to be coupled has an external thread and at least one cam-like protruding locking element is arranged on the end face of this shaft, and that the end face of the other shaft to be coupled corresponds to the position of the locking element or elements Having counter-locking elements, wherein a clamping nut which protrudes beyond the end face of the first shaft end and is provided with a plurality of longitudinal slots on part of its length at the periphery is angeord net,
which has a stop ring surface limiting the axial movements of the two th shaft and an internal thread which is arranged in the slotted part and engages in the external thread of the first shaft. The drawing represents an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, and it shows:
1 shows a longitudinal section through the coupling in the engaged state, FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section through the coupling according to FIG. 1 in the disengaged state, FIG. 3 shows a section along the line III-III in FIG. 1 and FIG Section along the line IV-IV in FIG. 1.
In Figs. 1 to 4, a Wel le 1, for example, a gear motor, not shown, is shown fragmentary, which is used to drive any unit. The end of the shaft 1 is provided with an external thread 5 and a bore 6, and as locking organs are in two frontal holes 7 each a ball 4, which protrudes approximately to half te from the tapping, for example by gluing or by caulking the edges the holes 7 rotatably held.
On a drive shaft 2 from, which is provided in the illustrated Ausführungsbei game with a square socket 12 which can be placed on a threading machine, not shown, sits a spring member formed from clamping nut 3 with an inner stop surface 14; the cross-section of the clamping nut 3 can be seen from FIGS. 3 and 4. Evenly distributed on the circumference of the clamping nut 3, six holes 8 with adjoining longitudinal slots 9 are arranged in the illustrated embodiment.
An internal thread 10 arranged in the slotted part engages in the external thread 5 on the shaft 1, and a pin 13 on the output shaft 2 is displaceable in the bore 6. Opposite the halves of the balls 4 protruding from the bores 7 of the shaft 1, two bores 11, which approximately have the shape of spherical caps, are arranged as counter-locking elements. The arrangement of the locking and counter locking members could also be exchanged; likewise, the number of these organs could be chosen differently.
The operation of the device described is as follows: In the locked state according to FIG. 1, the protruding parts of the balls 4 held in the bores 7 of the shaft 1 protrude into the bores 11 of the shaft 2, and there are thus the two parts 1 and 2 positively connected to each other.
If the torque to be transmitted increases further, the protruding ball halves exert a pressure on the walls of the tapped holes 11, which has such an effect that the resilient segments of the clamping nut 3 bend ver in the radial direction, d. H. the threads of the internal thread 10 slide approximately radially out of the threads of the external thread 5 on the shaft 1.
With the torque still increasing, the point in time occurs when the two threads 10 and 5 disengage, d. H. the output shaft 2 and the clamping nut 3 move jerkily in axia Ler direction relative to the drive shaft 1 by the amount of a thread pitch, whereupon the clamping nut 3 on the output shaft 2 runs along with the drive shaft 1 empty. As a result of the resilient effect of the segments of the clamping nut 3, the thread courses 10 of the latter occur immediately in the next threads of the external thread 5 on the shaft 1. The clutch is disengaged, as shown in Fig. 2 represents.
To recouple or re-engage the two shafts 1 and 2, the output shaft 2 is pushed together by hand in the axial direction until the two halves of the ball are seated in the bores 11; Then the clamping nut 3 can be screwed onto the external thread 5 by hand, with the two shafts 1 and 2 again assuming the position according to FIG. 1 through the stop surface 14. The clutch is engaged.
Instead of the balls 4 shown in the exemplary embodiment as locking elements, cam-shaped detents or lugs which are fixedly arranged on the end face of the shaft 1 or 2 could be provided, which can be locked into corresponding opposing recesses 11 serving as counter detent elements.
Likewise, vorste existing locking elements could be provided on both front sides. The pitch of the external thread 5 and of the internal thread to be matched is to be selected to be greater than the dimension of the locking element protruding from the end face of one shaft, i.e. H. In the illustrated exemplary embodiment, the protruding parts of the balls 4.
