Device for water cooling the pole coils of a salient pole rotor of a synchronous machine To increase the performance of turbo generators, it has long been known to build the stator winding from waveguides through which cooling water flows directly. It is also known to cool the rotors of turbo-generators with water, the cooling water also being passed through hollow copper conductors of the rotor.
A similar development in synchronous machines with salient pole rotors can be carried out with regard to the water-cooled stator winding in exactly the same way as in the case of the turbo generators, but with the salient pole rotors it encounters considerably greater structural difficulties. If one wishes to use hollow copper conductors here, the difficulty arises that these copper conductors have a very flat cross section, for example approximately 3 × 80 mm, and that it appears difficult or impossible to manufacture such conductors in a hollow manner. In addition, the large centrifugal forces effective in the coils would compress such waveguides.
The way to wind such coils in multiple layers and to come with waveguides that are closer to a quadra-table shape, difficulties with the insulation, which is highly stressed by mechanical forces, and the various thermal expansion of the individual winding layers, can be expected.
The invention relates to a device for water cooling the pole coils of a leg pole rotor of an electrical synchronous machine with high performance by means of heat sinks, characterized in that inside and at a distance from the outer flank air cooling surface of the pole coils, an insulated cooling device adapted to the coil shape and through which cooling water flows close, direct heat-conducting contact with their surroundings is arranged.
One embodiment of the invention consists in that, in the case of water-cooled pole coils, on salient pole rotors between the inner edge of the pole coil and the like. the pole shaft is arranged a voltage-insulated ter from the pole coil special heat sink, which can either extend only over the two long sides of the pole shaft or additionally over the end faces. The cooling device can also be created by the fact that holes or watertightly covered grooves are seen in the pole body itself, through which the cooling water flows.
Finally, one of the exemplary, most effective arrangements of the subject matter of the invention consists in dividing the pole coil at least on the longitudinal sides of the pole into a winding layer lying against the pole shaft and an outer winding layer and installing the hollow heat sink through which water flows in the space between these winding layers.
The figures explain the subject matter of the invention, for example. Fig. 1 to 3 show various possibilities of application, Fig. 4 shows the hollow heat sink in an embodiment example.
In Fig. 1, 1 is the pole body, e.g. is attached to the pole wheel 2 with the aid of a dovetail-shaped attachment. 3 are the roof copper windings of the pole coil and 4 are the hollow heat sink through which water flows, built between the pole coil and the pole body. The insulating parts, by means of which the pole coil are isolated from the pole body 1 or the water-cooled hollow heat sink 4, are denoted by 5.
In Fig. 2 it is indicated how the hollow cooling body 4 of FIG. 1 can be replaced by holes 6 in the pole body 1, for example.
3 shows a pole coil 7 divided into two layers of turns on the longitudinal sides of the pole shaft or on the longitudinal and front sides of the pole shaft. The hollow heat sink B through which water flows is located in the space between the layers of turns the pole coil are voltage-insulated from the pole body and the cooling body 8 by insulating parts 9.
The arrows indicate the cooling water flow in all figures.
The hollow cooling body flowed through by the cooling water 4 or 8, which is explained in more detail in Fig. 4, be seated in its interior in a development of the invention pressure-resistant webs 12, which serve on the one hand as supporting ribs and on the other hand, a lengthened th path of the cooling water at higher Cause flow rate. 10 and 11 are the cooling water inlets and outlets.
It is a further development of the subject matter of the invention that all turns of the pole coil. together with the cooling water-carrying hollow heat sinks using a synthetic resin made to conduct heat well in a known manner by an appropriate admixture can be connected to form a compact piece.
