Garbage incineration furnace The invention relates to a garbage incineration furnace with an operationally rotating drum arrangement which longitudinally transports the material. Waste incineration ovens are already known in various designs. They work partly continuously, partly intermittently. Rotary drum ovens in particular are intended for continuous operation. However, the known ovens of this type are not satisfactory.
In the case of rotary kilns, the combustion air can be supplied either from the inlet side or from the outlet end. Correspondingly, there is a direct current operation or a countercurrent operation in relation to the throughput movement of the goods. With a direct current system, an additional burner can only be placed on the task side of the drum, so that very high burner outputs are required, as the combustion gases are not used to dry and heat the material before it reaches the combustion zone.
In countercurrent operation, the combustion gases are well used to pre-dry the waste, but the vapors that develop during drying are easily drawn off into cooler zones and therefore have to be specially heated for the post-combustion that is usually required. The shortcomings of the well-known rotary kilns used for incineration have a particularly unfavorable effect when waste is to be processed which has only a low calorific value or high humidity.
The invention has for its object to provide a waste incinerator of the type described above, which is perfectly usable cash even for waste with low calorific value or high humidity and yet makes good use of the heat generated or supplied by additional burners.
This is achieved according to the invention in that the drum assembly is divided into a drum input part arranged on the feed side and a drum output part arranged downstream of this, the air supply from both free ends of the drum assembly in the sense of a cocurrent with the fed material in the drum input part and a countercurrent in the drum output part the outwardly open transition zone between the two drum parts takes place,
and wherein the drum inlet part can be freely flowed around in a chamber which leads over to the chimney and to which both the drying gases and the combustion gases flow through the transition zone of the two drum parts.
The furnace according to the invention works in its input part according to the direct current principle; H. With the goods being fed in, air is drawn through the furnace from the feed side. The drying gases move accordingly in the direction of the combustion zone. On the output side, however, the furnace works in the countercurrent principle, i. H.
In the drum part, which is expediently used as a combustion chamber, the combustion gases move in the direction of the feed side. According to one embodiment, it is provided that in the transition area of both drum parts, the drying gases coming from the feed side of the drum mix with the combustion gases coming from the drum outlet part,
in order to flow together through the chamber leading to the chimney and thereby effectively heat up the drum part on the inlet side from the outside. By mixing the drying gases with the fuel gases, effective post-combustion is also promoted, with the resulting heat being used to dry the material running through the drum inlet part.
The subject of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment in the drawing. The figure shows schematically a longitudinal section through a waste incinerator.
The waste incineration furnace on which the embodiment is based has a drum arrangement which is formed from two members 10 and 11 arranged one behind the other on the same axis. The member 10 represents the drum entrance part. This is expediently made of heat-resistant steel and has on the inside helically extending ribs 12, which are used for the longitudinal conveyance of the goods. The entrance end of the drum entrance part rests on. a pair of rollers 13.
The output end of the drum input part 10 is supported by supports 14 distributed over the circumference in the input region of the output-side drum element 11. This primarily forms a combustion chamber and is therefore provided with a refractory lining 15. This can form helical waves or the like.
The drum output part 11 rests at the input and output ends on pairs of supporting rollers 16 and 17. The drum assembly is driven in rotation, for example 1 to 5 revolutions per minute.
In the transition area between the drum inlet part 10 and the drum outlet part 11, the diameters of these members are matched to one another in such a way that the annular gap interrupted by the supports 14 forms an opening with a sufficient width for the combustion gases mixed with the drying gases to flow out. mel output part 11, the input part of an after-combustion chamber 18 is upstream,
which freely surrounds the drum inlet part 10 over a large part of its length and which leads to a chimney 19: A burner arrangement 20 may open into the chamber 18, which, if necessary, supports the post-combustion. In addition, a burner arrangement 21 is provided, in particular for heating, which acts from the end on the output side in the drum output control 11.
The material to be burned is shown on the left in the figure, d. H. placed in the exposed end of the drum input part 10. The drum arrangement 10, 11 resting on the pairs of rollers 13, 16, 17 is driven for operation. Analogously, the given item is slowly conveyed through the drum input part 10. During the operation of the arrangement, the drum inlet part 10 has hot gas flowing around it, so that the goods passed through the drum are dried intensively.
The drying gases arrive in direction d which corresponds to the direction of movement of the goods. H. in direct current to the transition area between the drum parts 10 and 11. The dried and preheated material in the drum entrance part 10 burns in the drum exit part 11. The incombustible residues are discharged at the exit end of the drum exit part 11. The fuel gases flow through the drum outlet part 11 in relation to the direction of movement of the goods in countercurrent.
For this reason, the drying gases mix with the combustion gases in the transition area of the two drum parts 10 and 11, so that lively afterburning takes place here. The burning or hot gases flow around the drum inlet part 10 and finally withdraw to the chimney 19. The burner 20 can serve to support or improve the post-combustion. In the figure, the passage of the goods is indicated by solid arrows, while the path of the gases is indicated by dashed arrows.
As has already been mentioned, the embodiment shown is only an exemplary implementation of the invention. This is not limited to this. On the contrary, many other designs are possible, please include. The structural details can be varied in many ways. The drum parts 10 and 11 could extend at least partially in the shape of a truncated cone over their length. In some cases, the drum parts 10 and 11 can be combined into one component. The dimensions can be adapted to the requirements. It can be advantageous to provide controllable air supply devices at the outer ends of the drum arrangement.
It is also advisable to supply fresh air to the afterburning chamber 18 if necessary.
