Description
Fig. 1 eine Seitenansicht eines Bogenauslegers,
Fig. 2 einen Grundriss des Auslegers,
Fig. 3 ein Schaltbild.
Sensing device
The invention relates to a device for sensing the stack height in feeding devices or booms of sheet-fed printing machines with an electrical switch acting on the stack lifting device.
In devices of this type, it is known to arrange a photocell interacting with a light source, the height of the stack influencing the amount of light reaching the photocell from the light source in such a way that an amplifier controlled by the photocell actuates an electrical contact in the event of deviations from a prescribed value, which in turn sets the stack lifting device in motion. The greatest disadvantage of such devices can be seen in the fact that the photocell is not only hit by the rays of the light source, but also by extraneous light. These external influences are so strong, especially when exposed to the sun, that the device no longer works according to the regulations and damage to the machine can occur.
Another disadvantage of photoelectric sensing devices is the inevitable aging of the incandescent lamp of the light source and the contamination of the light source and the light receiver. This pollution is particularly troublesome when using powder devices.
The invention avoids these disadvantages by having an ultrasonic source directed at a side surface of the stack and a receiver with an amplifier which is arranged on the same side of the stack and which receives the ultrasonic waves reflected from the side surface of the stack and which actuates an electrical switch if the recorded sound energy deviates from a prescribed value .
The device is insensitive to external influences, it is robust and not subject to aging. Nor does it change the display depending on the quality or color of the paper being processed.
The sound source and the sound receiver are expediently accommodated in a common holder which is attached to the printing press so that it can be adjusted in height. The desired stacking height can be easily adjusted.
The embodiment of the invention shown in the drawing shows in:
Fig. 1 is a side view of a bow boom,
Fig. 2 is a plan view of the boom,
3 is a circuit diagram.
The side walls 1, 2 of a bow boom carry the stack 4 resting on a stacking board 3 in a known manner. The board 3 hangs with its four corners on chains 5 which are deflected over chain wheels 6 or from chain wheels 7 via worm gear 8 from motor 9 in Movement can be set. An ultrasound source 10 and an ultrasound receiver 11 are fastened to a common holder 12 which has an elongated slot 13 and is fastened to the side wall 1 such that it can be moved in height by means of the screw 14. A housing 15 accommodates both the generator for the ultrasonic vibrations of a suitable and known frequency and an amplifier known per se for the sound energy received by the receiver 11 and reflected from a side surface of the stack 4.
By means of the button 16, the energy emitted by the sound source 10 and / or the sensitivity of the amplifier can be changed so that a relay housed in the housing 15 responds at a predetermined value of the energy absorbed by the receiver 11, whereby the motor 9 is switched on. The height of the surface of the stack 4, at which the relay responds, can be adapted to the respective requirements both by moving the holder 12 and by turning the knob 16.
