la fig. 1 est une vue en perspective d'une installation d'alimentation automatique selon l'invention;
la fig. 2 est une vue en coupe axiale d'un dispositif entraîneur;
la fig. 3 est un dispositif de transfert des produits depuis l'accumulateur jusqu'à celui d'une presse à barillet;
Supply installation for products during shaping of a shaping station,
including a tile press
The present invention relates to an installation for supplying products during shaping to a shaping station, in particular a tile press.
I1 frequently occurs that two successive shaping stations, in a shaping line, do not have synchronous flows, so that the supply of a shaping station, the flow rate is fixed absolutely, presents difficulties. This is the case, for example, in the ceramic industry, when the second shaping station consists of a tile press, for example of the barrel type, rotating at constant speed, which requires a perfectly regulated blank feed, while the first station for shaping the blanks (molding machine, piston roller, for example) has an essentially variable output rate, due in particular to certain conditions such as the humidity of the raw material, the inevitable fluctuations of the feed clay molding machines, etc.
A direct transfer of the blanks between the two shaping stations can therefore not be satisfactory.
The present invention makes it possible to solve this problem by providing an automatically regulated feed installation between the two successive shaping stations.
The feed installation according to the invention uses conveyors receiving the products flat on a belt, or a belt, a set of parallel belts; it comprises a first conveyor supplied with products at the rate of a first work station, a second conveyor perpendicular to the first conveyor and adapted to receive the products leaving said first conveyor, a product accumulator located in the extension of said second conveyor, a sampling device successively removing the products from said accumulator and transferring them to a second work station, in synchronism with this second work station.
This installation is characterized by the step-by-step movement of the conveyors and the attachment on the conveyors of means adapted to come into contact with the products transported so as to constitute thrusters ensuring the positive entrainment of these products at a predetermined spacing.
In such an invention, means for controlling the advance of a pitch of the first thruster can be provided and slaved to the admission of a product, means for controlling the advance of a pitch of the second thruster can be provided and slaved to the end of advance of said first thruster and to means of preventing advance depending on one or more conditions comprising at least the condition of filling the accumulator, so that a product placed on the second propellant is expelled laterally from the latter by the arrival of the following product, when said accumulator is full.
In this way, although the first shaping station only delivers the products fairly irregularly, this irregularity is compensated for by the accumulator, whose role is that of a buffer battery.
Given that the average output rate of the products from the first conveyor is slightly higher than the admission rate of the second workstation, it follows that this second workstation is, in practice, constantly supplied at its own operating rhythm, while the surplus products, corresponding to the difference of the two flow rates, are automatically expelled from the second conveyor by the arrival on the latter of another product delivered by the first conveyor and pushing the product waiting on the second conveyor laterally out of that -this.
The means for preventing the advance of the second carrier can, moreover, depend on the time difference between the admission of two successive products into the first carrier, and this so that these means of prohibition come into operation when said deviation time is less than the advance time by one step of said second conveyor. Indeed, it is obvious that if the products entering the first conveyor follow one another at too tight a pace, the second conveyor would not have the possibility of taking a step before the arrival of another product, so that there may be interference between these products.
It is to avoid this drawback that the installation can proceed, in this case, to one (or more) expulsion of products, which does not present any disadvantage for the supply of the second station, because it is in fact of 'an accidental phenomenon that is necessarily very temporary.
One embodiment of an installation according to the invention is shown by way of example, in the appended drawing in which:
fig. 1 is a perspective view of an automatic feed installation according to the invention;
fig. 2 is an axial sectional view of a driving device;
fig. 3 is a device for transferring products from the accumulator to that of a barrel press;
fig. 4 is a view of an electric diagram of a control circuit of said automatic installation.
Referring to fig. 1, the installation according to the invention comprises a first conveyor 1 supplied with products coming from a first shaping station by a conveyor 2.
At the output end of this conveyor 1 is arranged the second conveyor 3 driven in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the first conveyor 1; in the extension of this conveyor 3 is placed an accumulator 4 laterally to the conveyor 3 and in the extension of the conveyor 1 an evacuator 5.
The first conveyor 1 consists of an endless belt 11, rotating continuously in the direction of rotation f, overhung by a chain conveyor 12 carrying transverse pallets 13 and also extending directly above the second conveyor 3. A feeler 6, cooperating with a switch a, is provided on the admission side to the conveyor 1 and signals the passage of a product.
The second conveyor 3 consists of a plurality of belts 21, with transverse lines of cleats 22 distributed longitudinally by one pitch; between these different belts are placed free guide rollers 23, with an axis parallel to the transverse axis of the conveyor 1, in order to allow the sliding of the products from the conveyor 1 to the conveyor 3.
The accumulator device 4 consists of continuously rotating belts 31, associated with a transverse stopper 32, arranged at its outlet end, and with a feeler 33 disposed at its inlet end and cooperating with the switch e.
In the extension of the accumulator 32 is provided the sampler device 6 acting in synchronism with the second shaping station.
The advance of one step of the products located on the conveyor 1 is therefore effected by direct propulsion of these products resulting from the displacement of one step of the transverse pallets 13 against which they come up against, the advance of one step of the products located on the conveyor 3 also carried out by direct propulsion, under the action of the cleats 22 carried by the belts 21.
In either case, these chains 12 with pallets 13 and the belts 21 with cleats 22 are permanently driven by a friction device, for example described with reference to FIG. 2.
This friction device comprises a driven shaft 60 driven from a drive ring 61 by means of a friction 62, the coefficient of friction of which is adjustable by springs 63, so that the driven shaft 60 can be stopped at any time by direct blocking, without acting on the motor means.
It is this device or a clutch device which drives the chains 12 and the belts 21.
In the case of chains 12, they are blocked by means of a wheel 14 with two stops 15 and 16, cooperating with a pawl 17, operated by an electromagnet 18, so that one step corresponds to a half-turn of the axis of the cam 14. On this axis is also blocked a second cam 19 cooperating with an arm 20 with two contacts d and g.
As regards the second conveyor 3, the advance by one step is effected in the same way thanks to a wheel 24 having a single cam 25 cooperating with a pawl 27 subjected to the control action of the electro- magnet 28.
The mechanical operation of the installation described above is as follows:
When a blank arrives in the position shown at x, it lifts then lowers the feeler 6, which normally triggers the advance of one step of the chains 12, so that said blank comes into position y, between the two pallets 12a and 12b.
When a second blank arrives at x, at the entrance of the conveyor 1, it again causes the raising and lowering of the feeler 6 and consequently the advance of one step of this conveyor has the effect of transferring the first y blank in the z position above the rollers 23 on the carrier 3 and the second blank from the x position to the y position.
At the end of this advance movement and when certain conditions detailed later are met, the conveyor 3 is set in motion and the blank which was in position z is fed into the accumulator 4.
Two independent conditions may prevent the setting in motion of the conveyor 3, at the end of the advance of one step of the conveyor 1, which are: when the accumulator 4 is full, that is to say
when the probe 33 remains raised: in this case
the advance of one step of transporter 1 causes,
by the pallet 12a the lateral expulsion of the product
in z and its evacuation by the belt evacuator 5,
while a new blank takes place in z; - when two blanks present themselves in a very
closer to the entrance of conveyor 1, the con
voyeur 3 is not set in motion and the rough
located at location z is also expelled
to the spillway 4.
The sampling device is now described briefly with reference to FIG. 3.
This device comprises a slide 51 integral with the upper mold of the press and adapted to act, during its descent by means of two levers 53, 54, and a linkage 55 on a lifting part 56, a front face of which forms the stop. 32, this front stop 32 being provided with a lower roller 57. Thus during the descent of the slide 51 and at a precise moment during this descent, a blank is released and driven by a small conveyor at high speed 70, in the direction of a mold 71, on which said blank is applied, at the same time as the rotation in the direction F of the press barrel takes place, up to the position indicated in V.
It will be noted that due to the fact that the conveyor 70 has a significantly higher speed than that of the conveyor-accumulator 4, the result is that a clearance is created between two successive blanks, clearances between which the stop 32 is inserted, after having rolled by its roller 57 on the released blank.
It is therefore easy to understand that the blanks are taken out of the accumulator 3, at the desired rate and imposed by the barrel press.
By way of example, FIG. 4 is a diagram of an electrical control circuit allowing the operation described above.
This control circuit comprises: - a relay A supplied in series with contact a
of the probe 6, comprising two open contacts
ture al, a2 and a normally open contact a3, - a relay B supplied either by contact al, or
by a self-excitation contact bl, comprising
another NC contact b2, - a relay C supplied either by contacts a3 and
b2 in series and comprising four contacts
opening cl, c2, c3, c4, - a relay D supplied either by contacts d and
c2 in series, or by the self-excitation contact dl
in series with contact c3, further comprising
two normally closed contacts d2, d3, two contacts
normally closed d4 and d5, - a relay E, supplied either by contacts d2 and e
in series, or by contacts a2, c4 and d3 in series,
comprising two NO contacts el and e2,
- a relay F supplied by contacts c5 and d5 in
series, and comprising an NC contact fi in
series with winding 18, - a relay G supplied by contacts g and d3 in
series and comprising a gl contact in series with
winding 28.
The operation of the control device is as follows:
When a blank appears at x, it lifts the feeler 6 and closes the contact a; relay A engages closing contacts al, a2; relay B is activated in turn, with self-excitation by contacts bl and e2 of relay E at rest.
When this blank has passed the probe 6, the contact a opens and the relay A trips, establishing the supply of the relay C by the contact a3 in series with b2, the self-excitation circuit of this relay C being closed in cl and el. The closing of the contact c5 causes, through the contact d5, the excitation of the relay F, therefore the closing of the contact fl and the excitation of the electromagnet 18 ensuring the starting of the chains 12.
From this moment, we can distinguish two cases:
1. The blanks are presented for admission under the probe 6 at a normal rate, that is to say that the contact d (announcing the end of advance of the chains 12) is closed by the cam 19, before probe 6 is lifted again, that is to say before contact a closes.
Closing d causes by c2 the supply of relay D, which, by opening contact d5, triggers relay F and consequently the electromagnet 18: the chains 12 will stop at the end of their advance d one step and the contact d opens while g closes.
From this moment we can distinguish two distinct operating modes:
la) Accumulator 4 is not full and contact e is open, so that there is no risk of relay E being energized. Relays A, B, C, D therefore remain on.
The closing of g causes the supply of the relay G, therefore the excitation of the electromagnet 28 controlling the conveyor 3. The blank placed in z is directed towards the accumulator 4 into which it enters after having raised the probe 33. Closing contact e triggers relay E, which has the effect of tripping the relays.
B, C and D, and relay A if contact a is open.
Otherwise, if a new blank passes under the probe 6, the relay A, then the relays B and C close in turn and the described cycle begins again. In both cases, relay D is triggered and conveyor 3 stops at the end of its travel.
lb) If accumulator 4 is full, probe 33 is lifted and contact e closed. As soon as relay D engages, it causes, through contacts d2 and e,
Switching on of relay E, which eliminates the self-excitations of the relays, without the electromagnet G being able to be excited, that is to say that the conveyor 4 will not start.
If contact a remains open, relays A, B and C are tripped, then D and E, so that we are back to the initial stage.
If contact a was closed - or if this contact closes later - that is to say if a new blank appears under the probe 6, the relays
A and B remain engaged - or engage while the relay C trips, which causes the successive tripping of D and E. The conveyor 3 cannot start and the blank it carries is expelled laterally on the spillway 5 by the arrival of a new blank and so on until the probe 33 is raised, meaning that the accumulator 6 is no longer full.
2. If, contrary to what has been described in point 1 (la and lob), the blanks are presented under the probe 5 at a rate too tight to allow the correct operation of the installation, the conveyor 3 cannot start and the blank which it carries is also expelled laterally towards the spillway 5.
In this case, contact a is closed before d has been closed by cam 19.
Relay A is therefore switched on again which causes, via c4 and d4, the excitation of relay E, which brings operation back to case lb, that is to say to the impossibility excitation of relay G, so the conveyor cannot be started 3.
It should be noted for the record that two cases of operation are still possible, but they do not concern normal operation. Those are:
3. The feeler 6 of the switch a can not fall after the passage of a blank and start the chains 12, if the play between consecutive blanks is greater than the length of this probe. If this play is smaller, it is because the flow of blanks is greater than the possibilities for evacuating the chains 12. These no longer start and a traffic jam occurs on the belt 2 for the arrival of the blanks. The installation is thus protected from excess flow for which it is not intended.
The remedy is to reduce the flow of blanks to bring it back to the value initially planned.
4. When it is desired for the installation to pass the blanks from belt 2 to belt 5 without the chains 22 sending any towards the accumulator, it suffices to press the stop button of switch 0. Operation is carried out. then produced as in the case where the accumulator 4 is full.
The invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown and encompasses all variants. For example, the control device can be produced in a totally different way from that described using electrical relays.
