Description
Fig. 6 bis 9 zeigen abgewandelte Ausführungs formen hierzu.
Overhead garage door The invention relates to an overhead garage door with a goal frame and a door leaf connected to it.
In a known garage door, wooden slats (panels) are screwed onto the goal frame. This runs on the outside of the gate; at the bottom it forms an outstanding base.
In a further known up-and-over garage door with a door leaf made of steel, individual steel sheet strips are welded onto the door frame by means of spot welding.
In contrast, the invention consists in that the door leaf forms a special component which can be pushed as a whole into a guide located on the goal frame and is held therein. In this way, the goal frame and door leaf can be connected to one another particularly easily and quickly. On fastening devices, e.g. Screws and associated screw connection strips can be omitted. The front of the gate then has a smooth, pleasing appearance. The door leaf can also be produced individually, if necessary at a different location than the goal frame and only pushed into the frame guide on the construction site and thus connected to the frame.
This is particularly useful if the frame is made of steel, while the blade is made of wood or the like and is supplied by another company, e.g. is delivered directly to the construction site.
In the case of a door leaf made of wood there is also the advantage that the wood can work unhindered within relatively wide limits even after the parts have been assembled; it can expand or contract without being hindered by a fastening device and being damaged as a result.
In one embodiment of the invention, the door leaf can be pushed into the guide of the door frame from above. The door leaf is then held by its own weight on or in the goal frame.
In another design according to the invention, the door leaf forms - seen from the outside of the garage - at least at the lower edge of the door, the outer part of the door, while the goal frame and guide lie within it. The rainwater then runs off immediately; also no condensation or the like can collect on a lower edge of the garage door.
Further details emerge from the following description of exemplary embodiments of the invention in conjunction with the drawing.
1 shows the outside of a garage door designed according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows the inside, in each case in the closed position, FIG. 3 is a horizontal and FIG. 4 a vertical section through the door, FIG. 5 illustrates a detail from FIG 3 on a larger scale, in horizontal section.
Fig. 6 to 9 show modified execution forms this.
The garage door designated as a whole with 1 (also called swing door) according to FIGS. 1 to 5 contains a goal frame consisting of a steel tube of rectangular cross-section 2. It extends over the entire circumference of the door. The upper frame part 2a is initially not connected to the side frame parts. The goal frame has at the bottom and on the sides an approach 3 formed from three bent, parallel flaps, the upper part 2a has an approach 3a consisting of two such flaps (Fig. 4). These approaches form a guide to the attachment of e.g. Gate leaf made of plywood 4.
This is formed from two halves 4a, 4b which are glued together at a vertical parting line 5. On the inside of the door leaf wooden strips 6 and in the middle a horizontal wooden strip 7 are glued on the edge along the edges and if necessary embedded ge in grooves 31 (Fig. 5). The strips 6 have recesses 8 which fit the guide lugs 3, 3a of the goal frame. The bar 7 is used to stiffen the two-part gate leaf 4.
The filling for the goal frame 2 consisting of the door leaf 4 and the strips 6, 7 is first completely completed (prefabricated) and then with the frame upper part 2a removed from above - i.e. perpendicular to the plane of the drawing in FIG. 3 and towards this - as a structural unit in the guide 3, 3a of the goal frame inserted. Part 2a is then welded to the rest of the frame. In the guide 3, 3a, the door leaf sits firmly under its own weight without any special fastening device, such as a screw connection, would be necessary. The door leaf is completely smooth on the outside and forms the outer part of the door; Frame 2 and guide 3, 3a are everywhere within the door leaf. This covers the frame 2 practically everywhere.
The overhead door can be easily opened and closed by means of two springs 11 (Fig. 2) and a linkage 12 existing, known per se lifting mechanism. A window 13, a lock 14 and a handle 15 are inserted into the door leaf. In the closed position, the door with the frame 2 is supported against stops 17 which are fastened to angle pieces 18 which are placed on the plaster 19 (Fig. 5) of the e.g. Existing concrete garage building 21 are attached.
At the bottom the gate hits against an angle piece 22 (FIG. 4) which is set in concrete at the entry point and at the top it finds a stop in a further angle piece 24 with its tab 23 sitting on the frame part 2a.
In the modified embodiment according to FIG. 6, the goal frame 2d forms a guide formed from a U-shaped profile into which the plywood plate 4 is pushed together with the strips 6.
In the construction according to FIG. 7, a goal frame 2b forming a groove 25 is used. The plate 4 is pushed into the groove, with a guide tab 26 sliding into a slot 27 formed between plate 4 and bar 6.
In the further example according to FIG. 8, the goal frame is an angle piece 28, one leg 29 of which forms the guide for the door leaf 4, 6.
Finally, in the example according to FIG. 9, which largely corresponds to FIG. 5, a tab 32 is attached to the frame 2, against which the plate 4 is supported.
The plate 4 can also be made of plastic or me-metallic material. The latter is less heat-insulating. In a modified exemplary embodiment, the door leaf is pushed into the goal frame 2 from the side. If necessary, the door leaf is held in the goal frame by means of bolts, locking pins or the like, but preferably not by means of screws, expediently with locking means that cannot be seen from the outside on the plate 4 and do not go through it. Plate 4 can also consist of one piece instead of the two halves 4a, 4b.
The goal frame can also be made of profiles other than those shown, e.g. consist of a profile of a square cross-section. In special cases, it can also be useful to design the door leaf from below into the goal frame and insert it e.g. to hold by means of bolts or the like. For example, if the goal frame is to be built into the garage building on its own or is already built into it for some reason. The arrangement can also be made so that the door leaf can optionally be pushed into the goal frame from two sides, e.g. from above or from the side.
