Fig. 1 zeigt einen vertikalen Mittellängsschnitt.
Method and device for filling a tube with pasty material
The present invention relates to a method and a device for filling a tube with pasty material, in particular toothpaste.
However, it can also be used for other pasty material, such as shaving cream or ice cream. The invention aims to reliably fill tubes with plastic materials of different colors in such a way that when the contents are pressed out of the tube, the differently colored materials emerge unmixed from the tube, so that the incoming mass has a striped appearance.
It is known to fill two types of toothpaste of different colors into squeeze tubes, one type of toothpaste usually being white.
However, in order to be able to squeeze the tube contents out of the tube in the striped configuration mentioned, it is necessary with these known methods to divide the tube interior into two separate containers, each of which has to hold a type of paste. However, this leads to a relatively complicated filling process and to relatively expensive tubes.
The present invention is intended to avoid these disadvantages and to be suitable for filling squeeze tubes of the usual type, which can be filled with conventional filling machines, which can at most be adapted to the new conditions by minor changes.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that a main part of the material is introduced into the tube through a main outlet opening and additional material is introduced into the tube through at least one feed line, the feed line being arranged such that the additional material is added to the main material in the main outlet opening in the form of a strip .
The device for carrying out this method is characterized according to the invention in that it has a housing intended to be inserted into the tube to be filled, which is provided at one end with a main outlet opening and in which a tube can be connected to the removal point of the main material for supplying it Material is arranged in the main outlet opening, and that in the housing at least one additional line which can be connected to the extraction point of the additional material and is not connected to the pipe is arranged, which has an outlet opening of at least approximately rectangular or square shape and is arranged in such a way that through it emerging additional paste-like material in the main outlet opening is added as an edge strip to the emerging main material.
The method is explained below with reference to the drawing, for example.
The drawing shows an embodiment of a filling device suitable for carrying out the method.
Fig. 1 shows a vertical central longitudinal section.
Fig. 2 shows a view of the housing from below.
The filling device shown has a vertical tubular housing 1 in which a central tube 2 is arranged, the upper end of which opens into a container 3. The upper end part of the tube 2 protrudes above the upper end part of the housing 1. Both end parts are held in a common holder 4 which is fastened to the filling head of a filling machine (not shown) and has corresponding vertical bores in which the end parts of the housing 1 and the tube 2 are tightly fastened. The housing 1 is inserted into the lower part of the holder 4 and its upper end opens into a cavity 5 of the holder 4, which annularly surrounds the tube 2 which completely penetrates the holder 4. A pipe section 6 opens into the cavity 4 and is connected to a container 7 in a manner only indicated schematically.
At the lower end, the housing 1 tapers off conically into a circular main outlet opening 8 (FIG. 2). The tube 2 is surrounded at the lower end by an annular piece 9, which closes the annular space 10 formed between the outside of the tube and the inside of the housing 1 at the bottom. The ring piece 9 is penetrated by five small tubes 11 which are arranged at equal peripheral distances from one another and converging downward. Their mouths 12 have at least approximately rectangular or square shape (FIG. 2) and are located directly below the mouth 8 of the tube 2. The annular space 10 therefore forms a second supply line communicating with the annular space 5 of the holder 4 and thus with the container 7 for an additional filling material, whereas the feed line for the main material is formed by the pipe 2.
The tubes 11 are arranged symmetrically to the axis of the housing 1 and the tube 2 and can have any cross-section different from the shape of the mouths 12. The housing 1 is dimensioned such that, as shown in FIG. 1, it can be inserted into the open jacket of a tube 13 to be filled.
For use, the container 3 with the main material, e.g. B. filled with a white toothpaste, whereas the container 7 is filled with an additional type of toothpaste, which has a predetermined color due to added pigments or color bodies. These pigments resp.
Color bodies are insoluble in the main paste in the container 3.
To fill the tube 13, the main material originating from the container 3 is initially pressed through the tube 2 until it emerges from the mouth 8. The additional material originating from the container 7 is supplied through the annular space 10 and the feed lines 11 and is controlled in time such that the exit of the additional paste through the mouths 12 begins shortly after the beginning of the exit of the main paste through the mouth 8. The mouths 12 are arranged such that the additional paste emerging from them is incorporated in strips into the main paste emerging from the mouth 8 at the edge part of the mouth 8, so that the total mass emerging from both mouths has a striped appearance.
With increasing filling of the tube 13, the filling device is slowly pushed upwards until the tube 13 is filled to a predetermined extent.
Then, for the time being, the supply of the additional paste exiting through the mouths 12 is terminated, and then also the supply of the dermal material exiting through the mouth 8.
The tube 13 is then brought out of the area of the device and closed in the usual way.
If it is opened during later use by removing the cap and the contents are squeezed out for use, then the mixed toothpaste emerges in a striped strand, with strips of the additional material in the color used being embedded in the white, skin-like material at equal intervals.
