Fig. 2 zeigt den Wandler in einer mittleren Be tätigungsstellung.
Fig. 3 zeigt den Wandler in extremer Betätigungs stellung.
Mechanical brake system The invention relates to a mechanical brake system for vehicles. It is known that, especially in the case of heavy trucks that have been brought into circulation in recent years, the muscle power of the vehicle driver and the space available at the handbrake lever no longer meet the requirements of the statutory traffic regulations.
For this reason, pneumatic servo devices or to increase the translation between the handbrake handle and friction brake ratchet mechanisms are used to support muscle power. However, the servo devices all have the serious disadvantage that if the compressed air fails, the safe breakdown of the vehicle is called into question or the legally prescribed braking values can no longer be achieved.
The ratchet brakes have the disadvantage that they work slowly when in use and are by no means able to achieve the legally prescribed braking values the first time the ratchet is pulled.
If one examines the entire actuation mechanism of a handbrake in more detail, it turns out that a maximum stroke predetermined by the vehicle designer is provided for the handbrake lever, which can be functionally divided into three sections, on which the following tasks are omitted: In the first section : overcome all play in the linkage between handbrake lever and brake shoes; Removal of the clearance between the brake shoes and the brake drum.
In the second part of the route: pressing the brake shoes with the greatest possible L ratio between the brake lever handle and the center of the brake shoe; Over wind the additional path, which results from the deformation of the individual components.
The third part of the route forms the reserve for the wear and tear of the friction linings. It goes without saying that the gear ratio is limited in the case of a handbrake mechanism, as is the contact pressure of the brake shoes, since the vehicle driver can only operate the handbrake lever with a limited force.
According to the present invention, this disadvantage is eliminated in that a force and displacement converter is built into the actuation mechanism of the brake system. The design of this transducer can preferably be such that the force introduced at the beginning of the actuation area is reduced to a small size and then changes steplessly and gradually to larger as the actuation progresses.
In contrast, the initiated movement is initially translated into larger dimensions and then gradually reduced to smaller dimensions as the brake is applied. This can be illustrated with the following values: At the beginning of the actuation area, a tensile force of 7 kg at the input corresponds to a force of 1 kg at the output, while a stroke of 1 cm at the input results in a stroke of 7 cm at the output. After having covered half the operating range, the values are: force at the input and output each 3.5 kg; Stroke at the entrance and exit each 3.5 cm.
By the end of the actuation range, the value ratio has been reversed, and a tensile force of 1 kg at the input then corresponds to: a force of 7 kg at the output and a stroke of 7 cm at the input a stroke of 1 cm at the output.
Subsequently, two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.
1 shows schematically a first exemplary embodiment of a mechanical brake system with a built-in force and displacement converter in the urbetätelte position. Fig. 2 shows the converter in a middle loading position.
Fig. 3 shows the converter in the extreme actuation position.
FIG. 4 is a force-displacement diagram over the maximum operating range of the mechanical brake, and FIG. 5 shows a second exemplary embodiment of a brake system in a partially schematic representation. The handbrake lever 1 of the mechanical brake system shown in Fig. 1-3 .darge is mounted at 2 and hinged at the lower end 3 on the transmission linkage 4, 5 of the system, in which a force and displacement converter 6 is installed,
it consists of two eccentrically mounted chain wheels 7 and 8 and an S-shaped chain 9 running around the same. This chain engages the periphery of the wheels 7 and 8 without slipping and forms Idas flexible intermediate piece between the linkage parts 4 and 5, at the end of which 10 and 11, the chain is connected.
With the opposite end 12 of the wheel-side linkage part 5 is hinged to the lever 13 of the brake cam 14, which is located between the brake shoes 15, which in turn are located in the brake drum 16, in which case in the unactuated .Lage between idem brake lining 17 of the shoes 15 and the drum 16 a ventilation play 18 is present.
According to FIG. 1, the chain wheels 7 and 8 assume a position in which the converter is at. Actuation of the handbrake lever 1 at the beginning results in a travel ratio of, for example, 1: 7 from point 10 to point 11 of the linkage, which is continuously reduced as the actuation of the handbrake lever progresses.
With a relatively small stroke of the handbrake lever 1, all play in the hinge and connection points 3, 10, 9, 11 and 12 in the transmission linkage 4, 9 and 5 as well as (the ventilation play 18 between the brake shoes 15 and the drum 16 and the jaws 15 are brought to rest against the latter. The force introduced at the handbrake lever 1 is transmitted through the converter to the brake cam lever 13, this reduction being reduced as the stroke of the handbrake lever progresses.
When the handbrake lever is covered halfway in accordance with FIG. 2, the translation of the converter with regard to the path and the force has changed to 1: 1. When the lifting movement of the handbrake lever is continued, the force introduced is increasingly translated and the train is increasingly reduced, the maximum ratio values being reached in the position of the chain wheels 7 and 8 shown in FIG. H. only a fraction of the braking force acting on the drum needs to be applied to the handbrake lever.
From the diagram according to FIG. 4 it can be seen how the transmission ratio caused by the described converter changes continuously in the actuation range of the brake in the form of a sinusoidal line 19 from, for example, 1: 7 through 1: 1 to 7: 1. It can also be seen that, on the one hand, the rod stroke is decisive for the dimensioning of the diameter of the chain wheels and, on the other hand, the eccentricity is decisive for the magnitude of the force amplification factor.
In the case of setting inaccuracies in the relative position of the chain wheels to one another, the converter is advantageously insensitive as long as the chain is sufficiently long. It is also possible to take the wear of the brake lining into account by increasing or decreasing the force translation. By appropriately setting the chain wheels in their starting position, the beginning and the end point of the diagram line 19 can be moved forward or backward, which is indicated by the subsidiary lines 20 and 21 in FIG.
According to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 5, the converter can also only be equipped with an eccentric wheel if it is installed in the correct place in the linkage.
In the case of light motor vehicles with so-called stick brakes, where a deflection roller is arranged between the handbrake lever 22 and the transmission linkage 23, the same can be designed as an eccentric sprocket 24, as shown in FIG. Instead of the chain as a transmission element in the converter, other .schlupffreie pulling or pushing organs acting on the eccentric wheel or wheels could be used, e.g. B. racks or perforated belts.
There can also be more than two eccentric wheels and additional pulleys in the converter.
