Drive and braking device, in particular for mechanical presses The present invention relates to a drive and braking device which is particularly suitable for mechanical presses. In intermittently working machines, as represented by mechanical presses, the necessary torque is transmitted by means of a clutch from a continuously rotating, e.g. B. by an elec tric motor via an endless belt driven flywheel on the intermittently operating ele elements of the machine.
To carry out one or more work strokes, the flywheel is connected to the main shaft of the press or the like via a coupling. Mechanical, pneumatic, electromagnetic or hydraulic clutches of various types are used for this in practice. When the clutch is released, a brake immediately stops the machine.
Known air-operated clutches with associated ger brake have the major disadvantage that the entire clutch and the brake are arranged on the same side of the flywheel, which leads to assembly and disassembly difficulties, among other things. Clutches are also used, the actuation of which moves the flywheel axially, which, however, results in a large loss of power and time. The known clutches and brakes also require a lot of space and result in an unfavorable load on the shaft.
The invention, which aims to remedy the above after parts, thus relates to a drive and braking device with a shaft which can be coupled to a drive wheel and is automatically stopped by a brake when the clutch is released. According to the invention, this Vorrich device is characterized in that axially displaceable coupling blocks are mounted in the body of the drive wheel, which work together with friction surfaces of an assembly attached to the shaft on opposite sides of the wheel body, with means being provided to create a first friction surface in To move towards or away from a second friction surface and at the same time to release or release the brake.
to attract, and furthermore the two friction surfaces are provided on two different, releasably interconnected parts of the unit tes.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention is shown in section, with certain similar details such. B. friction pads are drawn on one half of the drawing in section and on the other in view.
The drawing shows a drive and Bremsvor direction for the designated 1 main shaft of a mechanical press, for. B. an eccentric press, of which only one bearing 2 of this shaft 1 is drawn. A drive wheel 3, which is also designed as a flywheel and serves as a pulley for an endless drive belt, not shown, is to be coupled to the shaft 1 in an easily controllable manner or to be able to be uncoupled from the same; In addition, the shaft 1 should be braked automatically as soon as it is no longer coupled to the drive wheel 3.
The drive wheel 3 could also be designed as a gear wheel and does not necessarily have to have a large moment of inertia, although the latter is particularly useful in the intended use of the device shown, namely in a press: on the shaft 1 is an elongated hub 4 of a base body 5 wedged by means of a wedge 6. The base body 5 forms at its press-side (rear) end a brake counter-holder 7 and, at a certain distance from the latter, a Kol ben 8, which is located in a short cylinder 9.
The cylinder 9 is axially displaceable with respect to the piston 8 and sealed by a seal 10 against the hub 4 corresponding to a piston rod, and by a seal 11 against the piston 8 itself. In the enclosed between the piston 8 and cylinder 9 working space 12 of the cylinder 9 opens an inclined bore 13 of the base body 5, which is on the other hand with a groove 14 extending in the circumferential direction of the shaft 1 in connection. At the same height as the groove 14, a transverse bore 15 is provided in the shaft 1, which connects an axial bore 16 of the shaft 1 with the groove 14.
In front of the front end of the shaft 1 there is a rotatable connecting piece 17 in the hub 4 which allows a stationary compressed air regulating valve 18, e.g. B. an Elek troventil, the pressure supply line 19 is schematically indicated to the bore 16 to connect. It can be seen that when the valve 18 is open, the pressure prevailing in the working space 12 moves the cylinder 9 forward.
The drive wheel 3 has a disk-shaped body 20 lying in a radial plane and a hub 21, the latter sitting on a ball bearing 22 which in turn is attached to the hub 4 of the base body 5. The wheel body 20 is provided with a ring of openings 23 which, for. B. can be round or square. In the openings 23 coupling blocks 24 are axially slidably guided, which are provided with friction linings 25 and 26 on the sides. Opposite the rear friction lining 25 is a friction surface 27 formed by the cylinder 9, while the front friction lining 26 is opposed to a friction surface 28 which is formed by a clutch counter-holder 29.
The coupling counter-holder 29 is fixed by means of a wedge 30 on the hub 4 of the base body 5 and secured by means of a locking ring 31 in its position. The base body 5 and the counter holder 29 thus form a rigid but easily demountable unit. The locking ring 31 is a slotted threaded ring which is screwed onto a thread 32 provided in front of the end of the hub 4 and is firmly clamped on this thread 32 by means of a screw 34 running transversely to the slot 33.
It can be seen that when the cylinder 9 is pushed forwards by the compressed air, the coupling blocks 24 with their friction linings 25 and 26 are clamped between the friction surfaces 27 and 28. As a result, the transmits essentially through the elements 3, 24,. 9, 29 and 5 formed friction clutch the rotation of the drive wheel 3 on the shaft 1. It should also be noted that the cylinder 9 and the piston 8 through a relative axial displacement of the elements 8 and 9 with pin 35 to common Rotation are connected, the bolt 35 is mounted in bearing bushings 36 and 37, and is prevented from sliding out of the same by means not shown. The drive torque is transmitted from the wheel 3 via 24, 25, 27, 9, 36, 35, 37, 8, 6 and on the other hand via 24, 26, 28, 29, 30, 4, 6 to the shaft 1.
It is emphasized that the clutch can be engaged very gently if the appropriate air pressure is selected, i.e. H. takes place smoothly. It is very advantageous that the axial forces cancel each other out in the friction clutch itself, since the forces acting on the friction surfaces 27 and 28, oppositely directed normal forces on the one hand through the cylinder 9 and the compressed air on the piston 8, i.e. H. on the base body 5, and on the other hand by the coupling counter-holder 29 and the wedge 30, or the locking ring 31 on the hub 4, d. H. also transferred to the base body 5 who the.
Compensating for the axial forces in the coupling is very advantageous because it makes axial bearings for the drive wheel 3 and for the shaft 1 superfluous.
The driving pin 35 has a weakening point 38, at which it is sheared off at a predetermined, maximum permissible value of the torque transmitted by the clutch, which z. B. is important in the event of a press failure. When the bolt 35 is sheared off, the working space 12 is connected to a through axial bore 35 'provided in the bolt, so that the compressed air escapes, and thus the clutch is released and the brake is applied.
In order to release the clutch when the air pressure is reduced and to brake the shaft 1, a first annular brake disk 39 is fastened by means of screws 40 on the cylinder 9. In the piston 8, a ring of axial blind bores 41 is vorgese hen, in which spring plates 42 are arranged, which are striving to push bolts 43 out of the bores 41 out. The bolts 43 therefore push the cylinder 9 backwards via the brake disk 39, thus counteracting the air pressure prevailing in the cylinder working space 12. A second, annular brake disk 44 with an internal thread 45 provided on it is screwed onto the brake counter-holder 7.
A securing plate 46, which is screwed to the counter holder 7 by means of a screw 47 and engages in one or the other of a number of peripheral recesses 48 of the brake disk, secures the latter in its screwed position. An intermediate ring 49 is provided with a ring of holes 50 in which brake pads 51 are supported axially displaceably. The intermediate ring 49 has an ear 52 with a hole 53 in which a socket 54 is inserted, into which the front end of a holding finger 55 engages.
The Hal tefinger 55 is attached in a manner not shown on the frame of the press and it can be seen that it prevents rotation of the intermediate ring 49 about the axis of the shaft 1. To prevent the intermediate ring 49 from pivoting about the finger 55 itself, it is supported in a manner not shown either on the base body 5 or on another stationary fin or the like. When the air pressure falls below a limit value dependent on a preload of the spring plate 42, the bolts 43 press the first brake disc 39 onto the brake pads 51, which in turn press the second brake disc 44.
Since the drive flywheel 3 is then decoupled from the shaft 1, the latter comes to a standstill very quickly due to the action of the brake, which essentially consists of the elements 39, 44, 49, 51.
In order to replace the subject to wear coupling blocks 24 and brake blocks 51, it is not necessary to dismantle the heavy drive flywheel 3 or even the shaft 1 itself, as is the case with other, the same purpose, known drive and braking devices of the Case is. After loosening the locking ring 31 you can move the coupling counter-holder 29 forward so far that the coupling blocks 24 are accessible and can be taken out of the openings 23 of the wheel body 20. After loosening the fuse plate 46 and unscrewing the brake disc 44, the friction blocks 51 can be removed from the openings 50 of the non-rotatable intermediate ring 49 in the same way.
Another important part of the device shown is that the torque is transmitted to the shaft 1 by the wedge 6 located in the vicinity of the bearing 2, so that only a small torsion angle of the shaft 1 results.
The clutch and brake are not arranged completely on a single side of the drive flywheel as in known devices, which leads to the assembly and disassembly difficulties mentioned. In addition, the device described is not only very space-saving, but thanks to its A skill also much more economical to manufacture than previously used devices of a similar type. It is also advantageous that the hub 21 of the wheel 3 and its peripheral flywheel mainly on opposite sides of the wheel body 20 lie in such a way that the flywheel is on the side of the bearing 2.
This reduces the bending moment exerted on the shaft 1 by the weight of the wheel 3 and the drive belt.
It should also be noted that the solenoid valve 18 has a blow-out opening (not shown) which, in a certain control position of the valve body, connects the bore 16 or the working chamber 12 of the cylinder 9 with the atmosphere for the purpose of rapid pressure reduction or more quickly Decoupling of the drive. The extremely fast and reliable control is also very advantageous from an economic point of view compared to conventional controls.
The wear of the brake pads 51 can be taken into account by readjusting the brake disc 44. Likewise, the wear of the brake linings 25 and 26 of the clutch blocks 24, which, like the friction blocks 51, could consist of a single piece of suitable friction coefficients, can be taken into account by readjusting the locking ring 31. By adjusting the brake disc 44, the preload of the springs 41 and thus the braking force can be changed, while adjusting the locking ring 31 influences the stroke of the cylinder 9 or the clutch travel and thus the activation time of the clutch. The clutch travel is expediently made as small as possible in order to permit rapid engagement.
The solenoid valve 18 does not need to be arranged immediately in front of the front shaft end, of course, as is shown for the sake of simplicity in the drawing; it is even usually connected to the rotatable exclusion piece 17 by a connection line.
